How do you play if you don’t own the game? I had the preorder schizo edition or whatever it was called, but I’ve since deleted that steam account (and that was worst purchase ever seeing how it didn’t last for long). Is it even available through the seas?
Lawbreakers always keeps coming back into my head, they NEED to bring it back and make it free

Welcome, our FPS brother! I played LB since launch, i played LB at the last moments before servers shutdown.... It was painfull.... 6 long years without my favorite FPS of all times... AND NOW WE CAN PLAY IT AGAIN IN 2024 AND ITS AWESOME!!!
How did that first game back feel? Do you remember it?

It is so sad that Arena Shooters died. I love them to this day more than any other type of multiplayer shooter. I had high hopes for Diabotical to revive the genre but I think it makes a lot of sense why it didn't succeed. It copied too much quake and because of that is was too oldschool. Having strafe jumping is the perfect example for being too oldschool. A lot of younger people never heard of that and it feels super clunky and old for younger gamers. I think a modern version of a arena shooter with parkour movement (wallruns etc.) and some cool guns could still get some attention but I fear that no developer will try it after quake champions and diabotical flopped
Couldn't agree more. It's a shame but I think the era of arena shooters is long gone. Especially with everything going on in the industry right now, I imagine it's difficult for any studio to justify the investment on what has become a real niche. This also made me want to jump in and check out Tribes again. Too many games died too soon.

As someone who sincerely tried to give the game a try during one of its free weekends... you're definitely seeing it a better state now than when it started, if I'm being entirely honest. The advertising campaign was really grating, the interviews with CliffyB had an odd vibe, and the learning curve was a lot less generous. With most of the abilities disabled during the test you mention, you got to enjoy the pure movement without any extraneous stuff thrown on top.
At its core, there was real potential, but Lawbreakers' original devs didn't do themselves any favors far as courting in players who weren't arena shooter veterans (and sometimes even then, left some boomshoot enthusiasts out in the cold, hard we tried to get something out of it). I really would love for someone to refine the concept and make it great. There was so much potential left on the table when it shuttered, and one less dead multiplayer game is always a win.
I'll just keep on waiting for the day Battleborn finally gets its time to be playable again.
Even if it comes back it will be sad not seeing new characters come in
I miss this game. I actually LOVED this game. I was hoping Lawbreakers would last longer till Trash company Epic would release a new Unreal.. but that wont happen so losing Lawbreakers hurt a lot.
Yeah I think 0 chance we see Unreal again in the next decade. 😰
Lawbreakers was such a great game. I do believe it came out at the wrong time. I think the game's failure came from the internet wanting Cliffy B to fail due to his personality..some might call him "arrogant" and "egotistical." I understood why people didn't like him, but the way he carried himself didn't bother me. I am a firm believer that people who hated on the game never actually played it. The game was so much fun and unique despite the haters saying it was an "Overwatch clone." Anyone who has played the game would know it is nothing like OW.
Agreed! I only loosely remember the discourse when it launched and it's probably why I missed it when it was out. It's definitely unique and now I wish I had more time with it.

Nice to see more coverage of the RELB project, playtest's have been understandably few and far between but very enjoyable when they happen and I encourage anyone with even a mild interest to stop into the discord server for a chance to play during one of the playtest's.
Genuinely impressive what that team has been able to pull together even now.
I just thought about how much I want to actually play Lawbreakers. These newer FPS games are boring me

Funny how I wanted to play LawBreakers when it was released and was sad when it closed down before I got to try it, but was content with games at the time I could play.
While now, I am largely discontent with the shooters these days. BF crapped it's pants, CoD released MW 2019 three times and Insurgency Sandstorm is run by a skeleton crew, while the original studio was closed.
Delta force is ok, but it fills the Cod niche more than the BF niche, even with it's Rush like game mode
Been a diehard Counter-Strike fan for like 25 years and I'm even falling off that now

-Lemnis Gate
-Warheaven
The fact that people were mad at this game for “looking like” overwatch .. the same mofos are now praising marvel rivals … gamers are as bipolar as the industry they hate
Instead of shutdown let those player develop and improve the game I think but knowing it cost money and time for server maintain cost...
this game came out too early. u needed a high end system and that time to play the game without it beeing a stuttering mess. but the gameplay is top tier even today
Yeah it for sure feels like it was just released at the wrong time. A lot of the old reviews look unplayable.
Bought LB when it first came out on ps4 and played religiously until it died. I know it's not likely but I hope it come back to ps4.
I imagine it would be a lot more difficult for fans to get it back online for Ps4 unfortunately. Consoles will always be a challenge for game preservation I think.

Is that really true? Despite being claimed shutdown, can people still play it on PS4, Xbox One and PC currently?
Only on PC in limited tests right now from what I can tell. I don't know if The RELB Project can get the console versions working again.

This gets old really fast, that's why Quake, Titanfall, Lawbreakers are dead.
COD has pretty much been the same for decades, but you don't see people dropping off as much. What makes you say it gets old ? genuinely curious about this mindset.
@@UpstageBeast COD is easy, so you can turn off your brain, what most people want. People don't want high skill games.
@@paytonestrada7746 this isn't a high skill game though, it reminds me of Black Ops 2 in a lot of ways.
I do agree with you about people just wanting simplicity, it's actually why I like this game.
