The Marketing defiantly didn't help. It was super cringe and it was obvious content creators were paid to glaze the game. They tried to say the game was the "dark souls of fps" which is obviously a shitty way to market the game to a casual audience (which they made clear that it wasn't for casual players). It's not a good idea to market the game to hardcore fps fans when there's already established IP's with dedicated fans. This just sets you up for failure. Most FPS games tailor towards the casual audience because 90% of the market is casual (just a guess) catering to a small audience with lack of content = DOA in my opinion. but honestly, as a former marketing student, their strategy was terrible.
100% mate and the comments cliff made along the way didn’t help either, could probably make a standalone video on just how absurd his views were😂 it’s a shame though because i really did enjoy this game and feel like it could survive in todays market, however if it had released now with the same marketing tactics as last time it would be an absolute laughing stock
My biggest gripe with lawbreakers was how the characters didn't feel balanced. The guy with pistol and a knife goes *brrrrrr stab* and someone dies very quickly and felt great to play, while trying to make the rocket launcher guy work felt practically impossible. Even when you got back to back airshots, you couldn't kill someone and the lighting hardly ever felt worth using.
Never got a chance to play it but it does look fun. I think the name “Lawbreakers” is pretty terrible, sounds like a GTA clone. That certainly didn’t help the game.
