AMAZING! I am literally looking at doing this shaped layout in my office! Timing of RUclips is beyond amazing that this would pop up! I can keep mine up for a little more than two days LOL. It would be at least 10 months! Nice to see what's involved and other helpful little ideas! THanks.
Superb Job - and Transfer Table installation is very clever indeed. WISH I had invitation to your train show. ( maybe you should consider selling tickets to such delightful event ) Do not mind to travel… to enjoy the sights of running Märklin trains.
All my train show are open to the public. The next one is in two weeks. (check our Facebook page). If you don't live in Norway, feel free to drop us a message if you are in the area. We make the money with selling waffels and sausages.
The thing I tried to do was make the layout simple then discovered how to have trains run in two directions. Being square and level is everything with each rail soldered and filed perfectly smooth. Grades make it change a little and always had problems on grades I can build a very nice bridge systems and put some more angles to test you.Busy bunch arent you. Old guys need naps. Id love to learn from the pros got a special build I would love to help Im a ole Disabled sailor and I love trains, Brass ones I am in love with a blue goose in HO with sound, I love Mallards too. They have a sound unique to the engine. It has some poppet valves that do a supersonic blast of pressure when in front of the engine you hear cug cug rapidily then you hear the engine itself.
Highly stressful. Not sure it would be the best way to promote railway modelling... took me some 35 years to build mine. But I took my time. That's the pleasure of it...!
Thank you for posting the video, unfortunately we had to fast forward it has we felt dizzy watching the fast forwarding. My son has epilepsy and is sensitive to fast movement. It seems like it was a lot of work! Are you planning on building a diorama? Wishing you best Marie
Looks fantastic! What piece is on the center table to load the locomotives? I've only seen the round turntables here in the USA.. Is it automated? Custom? Thanks and keep the updates coming. Truly amazing job..
This a transfer table. This one is from Märklin, article number 7294. Today the it is produced under 72941. Other European manufacturer (Brawa, Heljan) might offer a DC version. Heljan apparently make one for Walthers. At the moment it is only manual, so I have to steer it. There exist a special decoder for it made by Boll's ModellBahnTechnik, which I will consider buying.
Let's see. I guess around 2500-3000 € for the tracks, and 2000-2500€ for all the electronics (including the dcc central). Although Märklin tracks are more expensive than other brands, and I use a ECOS which is also on the upper level for DCC centrals. If you look for the price and try to use the second hand parts, you can get it for 3000-4000 €. But at the end the expensive thing is the rolling stock.
I don't know exactly, as I don't own the tables. I got a link once, if I remember correctly it was around 1000-1500 NOK (120-180 $) inluded 25% were VAT.

I had plan to make another of these, but then I got the Trainroom...
@@TheTrainroom can't wait to get a train room. One if these days.

That was a lot of work to display the trains for only 2 days. Well done.
Sehr interessant mit dem Zeitraffer. Gute Musikwahl. Klasse🙂
all that effort for the visitors, brilliant! the end looked like a robbery :)
MrOldCrow o q
Lmao very true.
that was really cool!! I am sad that the layout is gone..it would have been exciting to have seen it with scenery
I still have all the parts, so it could be rebuild in a couple of hours.
Brilliant. What a massive effort and visitors got to enjoy it. I would of helped you pack it away, that is such a tedious job.
I enjoyed your timelapse video!! I really appreciate it!!
Incredible work and video!
Spettacolare !
Grande !

I HOPE YOU GOT PAID ...THAT WAS WONDERFUL. A LITTLE SLOWER WHEN THEY WERE RUNNING WOULD HAVE BEEN COOL....
The visitors had to pay an entry fee, but that was to cover the costs of the room.
Highly stressful. Not sure it would be the best way to promote railway modelling... took me some 35 years to build mine. But I took my time. That's the pleasure of it...!
It got ideas to some people, who can't have layout, and don't want it on the floor. I got many request where such table can be bought.
Hallo Thierry,
richtig gut, so eine Woche im Zeitraffer👍
Wow! And that only took you 10 minutes 😎👊 very cool indeed 🔥💥
Deadly, well done video!
Interesting. I just fast forwarded a time lapsed video. Who knew? 🤷♀️
very impressive ;D
That was really cool. Real slick (very nice) LOL Thank you for sharing this video.

Nice video!
This looked oddly familiar, even though I don't have that much space available. Rigging, wiring, running and dismantling.
What kind of tables are those and where did you get them from?
The table were in that room. Since you're not the first one to ask: We got them from a local office furniture store.
i really wish i had a space like that id go bigger really cool layout

Thanks. This was only a temporary installation. Check my other videos which are about the new permanent layout.
This would be my dream
On your layout is that a square turntable
This layout existed only for a week, check the other one.
super !

What camera did you use for this?
Nikon D7200 with Syrp Genie to pan.
Thank-you
They. Hard work but. Fun. To. Run.
How much would this layout cost a person? ball park figure. Just the track & wiring.

i wish i could have this stuff
I did not know Model rr really attracts people :D
Model RR isn't that common in Norway, so people are curious to see what it is.
what kind of tracks are those? i would like to order some!
These are Märklin C-Track (third rail). If you need some for DC, then you can buy Trix C-Track. They are great for temporary layout.
I'd never leave the room.
how much do each of those tables cost ?
I don't know exactly, as I don't own the tables. I got a link once, if I remember correctly it was around 1000-1500 NOK (120-180 $) inluded 25% were VAT.
Can you share the track plans?
Here the original version. It got changed later:

U should get a central station
The ESU ECOS can do everything the CS can. BTW the first CS was made by ESU for Märklin.

How much did all that shit cost??
No idea, I've been getting stuff over the last 30 years. It's probably less than you are thinking.
