    Thank you Chef Pasquale. This looks delicious.
    For those who think of a conch as a "snail" let me remind you that it is just a single shelled marine gastropod such as the very, very expensive abalone and the very cheap limpid. Here on the West Coast the Abalone is practically extinct from over-fishing but the Portuguese members of my family eat the tiny limpids by the bucketful ,"On the hoof" as it were, with a loaf of bread and a gallon of vinho rosso.

    For those of you that are unsure what Scungilli is, the English name is Conch. Please correct me if I am wrong.

      I've had conch all my life (I live in Florida) and even in various places, while on vacation (the Caribbean, Italy, etc). It was very flavorful. I can't speak to the taste of those found in Asia, etc. but I love conch chowder, soup, etc. Perhaps their conch/snails have a stronger flavor.

    Mr. Pasquale, you’re so right. Always at least try it once. I tried scungilli when I was a young child in NJ and have loved it since.

    This wouldn't even be something I would particularly try, but the way you show how you make it, really makes me want to try it!! I also love how you add little stories and traditions from back in Italy in your videos. I am part italian and it is so interesting to hear :) Cheers from Canada!

    If I had my last meal choice it be this, I love snail salad, we never used oranges though might be good , but I like red wine vinegar in mine so i use good seasonings salad mix dressing. the can scungilli is very tender and soft, I like mine a bit firm , so i let it sit for about a week in the dressing and lemon juice the acid makes the snails firmer and sets up , few dashes of hot sauce and hard crust bread with butter , hell ya

    I am excited about this recipe... It truly looks and sounds so delicious. However, What is the first ingredient you put in that you could not find fresh and you had to rinse very very well??

      Scungilli...snails.

      ***** You're welcome. I can't eat them anymore because I know what they are...but I can't lie, before I did, they were pretty damn good.

    • @TheTrueRae
      @TheTrueRae 10 лет назад

      Deschain420 IF they tasted "pretty damn good" then why would "knowing what they are" sway you from enjoying them? Just curious... ""smile""

      ***** It's a mental thing. It would be the same as trying to get other people to eat bugs, or cow eyeballs...I can't get the image of what they are out of my mind even though I know it tastes good.
