EXC is the KTM's enduro line, I'm not sure what is the difference between XC-W and EXC though - maybe homologation...? (Yes, enduro bikes are raced bikes but as parts of the race may be done on public roads, they are generally asked to be homologated.) Also, many of the more experienced riders I know say it's easier to ride motocross on an enduro bike rather than vice versa. In general, both are race bikes but enduro is tuned (engine, clutch, gearbox, suspension etc.) as a compromise between fast and slow parts, while MX towards the fast parts. Meaning enduro may not handle those big jumps or fast speeds on bumpy track that well, while MX is going to struggle on obstacles or when you need precise control, slip the clutch a lot in low RPMs etc. PS: Most brands that produce two strokes switched to FI (KTM, Husqvarna, Gasgas, Rieju, TM) and Beta has a mixer even though it uses a carb, so with most modern two strokes you actually don't have to mix fuel and oil, just make sure your oil tank is filled regularly.
Yeah stock the 250f is better for sure The yz can be tailored for woods with some mods like flywheel weight and stuff but I’ve never done it so idk Just from what I’ve heard
@@notsoupmotoI had a 09 yz250f. previous owner put on a heavy flywheel and I got the suspension tuned to be softer than stock plus added a kickstand, bigger rear sprocket and other stuff to help in trails. Makes for a nice trail bike. I sold that and got a 16 250fx and I’m loving the electric start
I was looking for my second bike after coming from a small pit bike and I ended up going with a 1998 kx 125 2💨 and I've loved it i personally like 2 strokes over 4 strokes but this video definitely helped me in picking that bike out for me
Me sitting here watching this knowing damn well I've already been through this process but I like your videos lol I've been riding for a couple year and after having 2 of the 3 bikes blow up in spectacular fashion, I decided it was just time for a new one. Ended up with a 2024 KTM 450 XCF-W and I couldn't have chosen a better bike for what I ride. Hell, it even sees the mx track from time to time lol 😂
what bike do you think is better the Yamaha 125x or the cry 250f I'm 15 5,9 and 150 pound this will be my first bike. mostly will ride wide opens fast and flowy trails and maybe if I get good enough some track
If your ambitions are to ride xc trails, single track and maybe a little Mx in the future I’d go with the 125x. Still tame enough to learn the fundamentals on but will last you much longer as you progress in your abilities The crf250f is nice to putt around and it’s definitely fun going fast on it for people with more experience but based on what you want to do it seems like the 125x may be a better fit. Anyone else want to chime in?
I agree, the 125x is something you'll be able to progress much further with. The crf will be easier to ride at first but will get boring as you get better and faster
Hi I got a question I have been planning on getting a dirt bike for a while now but have been worrying I will buy a bad or wrong one I only want to spend between 1000-1500 because I just want to get the feel before I spend anymore I looked at the x pro hawk 125cc but I saw that on RUclips some people didn’t like it and said it wasn’t reliable so I was wondering is there a better or cheaper option if someone could tell me that would help a lot
If you want to stay in the $1000 to $1500 range I would look into used pit bikes or beginner bikes made by Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki or Suzuki. If you go the route of really cheap Amazon bikes, you do run into the reliability thing as well as difficulty finding the right parts if you end up breaking something. Pretty much any shop will be able to service those Japanese brands I mentioned above, parts are easy to find, and they are very reliable motorcycles Some examples would be a TTR125, any of the 110s, maybe a crf230 or TTR230 but it might be a challenge to find those used for the price range you’re looking at
It’s a solid bike for sure! Great for beginners and learning fundamentals. Comparable to the TTR125 I mentioned in this video. And yes I agree with Hayden, the best bike is the one you have :) As long as you have fun out there riding that’s all that counts
Yeah the 250f is a great all around bike. The 150r is a race bike so power wise it’s going to be a lot snappier. If that’s what you were looking for and maybe wanted to try racing Mx in the future, the 150r is a good bike. But if you’re mostly just riding for fun on trails and around the fields then the 250f is gonna be your best bet!

XC-W 2 stroke XCF-W 4 stroke
Honestly almost sold my 250f for a yz125 but I’m really happy I kept it, it’s better for the woods

Thanks for breaking down the difference between the tips of dirt bikes and off road bikes
No problem! Happy to help demystify the bike buying process
From watching you ride in these videos, Im gonna buy a 24' or 25' CRF 250F and sell my 230f like I've been wanting to do.
Soup, you HAVE to try the YZ125X.. It's not a great beginner bike, but is an excellent step-up from a trail bike.
I definitely want to give one a try!
I have the klx 230 dual sport its one of the cheapest dual sport with EFI 😅 same than regular klx 230 but heavier with light etc
Getting my first dirtbike this upcoming Christmas
It’s a crf125f(big wheel)
Nice! Congratulations and hope you have fun
Absolutely love your vids btw!
Appreciate that! Glad to hear
I feel like honda needs to make a crf200r with like 26 hp
Yeah it’s interesting they don’t make a 200r anymore
Should say trail bike more often than beginners bike😁 btw trail bike have often the same torque than a 250F motocross only the HP is lower 😝
Had 20 bikes still watched
