Despite what Hassan Naqvi says it takes patience, persistence, knowledge to pull apart, clean and keep going until the job is done. What I see is excellent for the facility and the tools available to you. You had the right pullers. You step by step pulled it apart. You remembered where the components went back. The important thing is that it works. A lot of folks are jealous of your skills. I understand that you're not in a factory setting. You perform as best as you can and I think you do a fine job. I was an aircraft electrician in the US Air Force and your quality is good. Thanks for the video.
That is called a reduction box not a tourque converter, tourque converters are a fluid flywheel used on automatic transmissions. After using this gearbox as a plantpot im suprised the condition the internals were in after being in that soil, obviously it wasnt in there for to long. I would of used new seals and those bearings should be replaced as well , i could hear a slight whine or whirring of those bearings it shouldnt make any sound if bearings are in good condition. When tapping the bearing races in place ona shaft tap them in using a short pipe onto the inner collar and if installing into gears and casing use a cylindrical pipe as a drift that matches the outer collar of the ballrace and tap it home otherwise you will bruise the bearings and they will have that flat spot you can feel when you rotate them. Last advice is when you are tightening down the end covers for the shafts and bearings and top cover tighten the bolts in a criss cross sequence or alternate not go round in a circle, cover plates and shaft bearing retainer plates seat and seal better when this procedure is done. This reduction box looks like its for an inboard engined boat.
The fact that every thing went back were it belonged was amazing. No parts left out. But I also would like to know why the dirty oil refill?

What a fake.... Happens to "find" a gear box at the bottom of the garden.
If it had actually been discarded for long enough to fill with soil and grow plants then it would have been completely rusted solid.

He put new bearings in it,but didn't put new seals on the shaft. There's a ball and spring on the shift lever to hold it in gear.

Всё замечательно! Но ребятки слукавили с тем что коротка использовалась как клумба! Сколько она в качестве клумбы простояла, неделю! Масло на дисках осталось!

Во первых гужёны выкручивать не обязательно было. Разбор шестерён ничего не дал.
А во вторых, пожалуйста соблюдай технику безопасности! Очень опасно зачищать детали проволочным кругом (тем более изношенным) в нитяных перчатках. Не делай так. Зацепит станок - намотает руку. По инерции палец может сломать... Береги себя и показывай правильный пример зрителям!

@@user-uv8mm7rp5q Плюсуюсь..... хотел бы я посмотреть как он на самом деле смог рожковыми ключами эти болты открутить. А изображаемые "дикие" усилия прои откручивании...... а коробочка то на верстаке просто стоит, ничем не закрепленная.

Although it’s not a great restoration, the resourceful process of how this antiquated contraption was restored, that I found 8mpressive. Work with what you have, to do the best you can. Sort of a “not the destination but the journey” kind of understanding/undertak8bg. Good job, nonetheless.

I think you could of done more to this. It is a good job bit you could of polished and prepared the outside surfaces before painting and put a little more detail in cleaning all your parts. Also, you went through all this and put in used engine oil! You could have also put in the oil while the top was off instead of where the dip stick goes in. It is obvious that there is a cap there for a reason also.

Must have used gasket sealant paste and using black used oil is bad idea. Always use new oil.
I sorry But If that was a Planter, For as long as your Trying to Make us think, That in side would be so bad you would have so much rust on those gears and you don't, Hardly any, I meen Just Being honest, and showing you Can just rebuild it would be a Good Video.
