Im Glad DD they took the H9 , the idea was good but no backing and it beats the hell out of another Glock clone ... i have a bunch of time behind the trigger of the H9 at my range , it ran good for a bit ad it sits in a box right now
You are 100% correct! We are assuming he means today’s market lol Also this DEFINITELY has a better trigger than a VP70 😂 that was for sure made with machine gun trigger in mind.
I can see it from both sides, I get it save yourself from making all these extra plates, BUT if I am buying an optic ready gun I want to be able to put an optic on as soon as i get home lol #OpticReadyish
We are assuming you would use the same plate from the RMSc as the DPP. The mounting screws are in the same location. We would have to double check on that though, once we get on for further testing. Thats the exact optic Tony wants on this gun haha
Not the same as I have the h9 and several rmsc plates, eps mrs carry regular 507k2 and the acss Vulcan model. That said I’m just going w the dpp plate from DD and mounting the scs320. Both en route. We’ll see how that goes 🤞🏽 Just over 800 downrange through the h9 without a hiccup.
looks cool but a hard pass for me. At that price they should have sights that work with optics not have to buy taller. No back up sights are fine for range toys but not for defense. I run optics on all my hand guns.
You would think as an optic-ready model, especially nowadays, that they would include that but then again you are seeing a lot of people carry with just the dot and no sights at all. DD did at least cut these to use the already available SIG dovetail, so thats a plus.
back from the range.. used a wheeler hand gauge and constitanly got 7 to 7.25 lbs, did it about 10 times cause i was shocked it was that much cause it doesnt feel like it. the trigger is funky though thats gonna have to get some getting use to or it might just be my gauge or me.
This trigger has a weird feeling in take up, but the actual break is fine. As far as the weight it reminds me of the Alien. You would swear the Alien trigger is lighter than 3lbs but ours clocked in at 3.25-3.50lbs consistently.
They bought the patent and had to buy the tooling for it, let alone years of testing and redesigning. I’m guessing the prices will come down eventually. I agree, it is a little pricey but I understand why
@merrillcannon2029 really!?! In a segment where its competitors are guns like the Shadow2 compact(also $1200) and DWX Compact($2100) and Kimber KDS9C($1500ish) Id say that it is actually very competitively priced. Especially because we would have though 2k minimum coming from DD.
$1,300 for another 9mm striker fired pistol is getting pretty old. The gun is definitely interesting, but it would have to come down considerably for me to consider buying it. I'm not saying that I'm the benchmark customer, I'm not even their target audience I'd wager, but to a good few people a pistol has to be special to be $800+ let alone $1300. I think that's silly to have a pistol in that price range that doesn't do a whole lot different than the competition.
@@ashfield4313 Here's what makes this pistol worth at least around $1000. - *Anodized* aluminum 7075 frame. This is the lightest and most durable material you can make a pistol frame out of without it being 2k+ or cheap Tupperware. - DLC coating. Most firearms period don't have this. Makes it inherently self lubricating, easier to clean, and the metal on metal parts will last longer. -It's already optics ready out of the box. - COLD HAMMER FORGED BARREL. Only more expensive race guns usually have this out of the box. - The frame is like the sig320 where it invites a lot of modularity down the line. - *1911 grip angle and trigger, but with the consistency of a striker fire mechanism.* (This one is the most unquie feature that literally no other pistol in the market does.) All those features can be found here and there in other pistols, but not for $1,300 MSRP in a single handgun right out of the box. The pricing is not great, not terrible. For what you get, it's competitively priced.
That is interesting. Unfortunately the ones we shot had a ton of rounds through them already, once we get one for further testing we shall see how they are brand new. Adding oil isnt a deal breaker by any means, every gun needs it, did the jams still happen after oiling?

Agreed. The H9 always had potential. Curious to see how this one catches on with an ever growing market segment of smaller all metal carry guns
In a world of meh it sure is nice to see something that hasn’t been copied 1000 different ways.
It really is. DD did a great job on this one.
Thanks for update.
mine is on the way.. pretty stoked.
You’ll definitely enjoy it!
HK VP70 is striker fired and straight trigger pull. What the hell is he talking about "only striker fired gun that has straight pull trigger".
You are 100% correct! We are assuming he means today’s market lol Also this DEFINITELY has a better trigger than a VP70 😂 that was for sure made with machine gun trigger in mind.
Preach
Hell yeah
Good stuff 😎✌🏽
👊👊 my man!
Are you kidding me! At nearly 1300 include the damn plates

Makes some rmsc plates for an eps mrs carry already…. “Yup”

Oooo the SCS320 is a good option too! That’s gonna be a dope setup
@@laughnloadThat’s what I’m hoping! Prolly be a few weeks but I’ll let ya know how it’s lookin
Please do!
No suppressor height sights equals no duty use yet. Which is odd as you’d think DD would try getting into that market.
Believe it is cut to accept SIG sights
Well that’s a plus then!

NAW IM GONNA PASS ON THIS ONE, I WOULD BUY THE PLATYPUS OVER THIS
I def think the H9 has its place especially in the EDC market. But you know we love the Platy around here!
Trigger pull weight ANYONE ?
when i get mine in a couple of days ill let you know lol.
6lbs according the humble marksman

Too expensive.

being DD first handgun i expected it to be 2k, i was actually surprised it was 1300, cheaper than my bul sas ll uc and a staccato.

Love the look of this gun, Fired it this mourning, It jammed 5 times.
Guess it has to be oiled a lot before you fire it. Very disappointed.
