Thanks for this valuable information on plant adaptations and using that as a starting point for plant care. I always enjoy your channel. Much love from Virginia (USA).
I totally agree. I tell people do also do their research on a plant so that they’d be able to give that plant the best care. This is a learning experience and it helps to know at least the type of conditions to give a plant based on where it’s the origin of the plant. I find it fascinating where some of these plants come from and often the history behind them. Some of these plants were or still are used for medicinal purposes. Thank you for sharing. I am always looking to gain some knowledge.
You nailed it! 🌍 Knowing where a plant comes from changes everything when it comes to care. And the medicinal history of plants is so fascinating too! Love that you’re always learning! 💡✨
You are making excellent points. For example Philodendron Verrucosum grows in the cloud forest Monteverde in Costa Rica. You can find the temperatures very easy. Right this moment I’m writing this comment it says: January 31, 2:10 AM (Today) 17°C RealFeel® 16°C Cloudy Precipitation: 25% Amount: 0 mm Wind: ENE 7.6 km/h Humidity: 64% Wikipedia: Monteverde rests at roughly at 1,400 m (4,600 ft) above sea level, located in a lush, misty and wet, yet breezy and cool, spot in the mountains. The region's mean annual temperature is 18 °C So that can be a reason why so many people can’t keep them alive (I gave up afrer 3 tries).
Wow, this is next-level plant research! 📚🌿 The Monteverde climate totally explains why Philodendron Verrucosum can be tricky. It’s wild how much their natural habitat affects them! Thanks for sharing this!
Great video. That is why I keep east pothes and some of the other plants I have are not doing well. For me it is the right place iin my home. And not to over water. Thank you for all the great information. I will be more careful in the future picking out my plants. 😊
Yes! 🌿 It’s all about the right plant in the right place. Once you get that down, everything else falls into place (well… most of the time 😂). So glad you found this helpful!
It's funny that we as humans, including myself, go crazy for blooms, the shape and pattern of leaves, and/or the development of roots. The reality is that we are fawning over the genitalia of plants, its means of acquiring water, light, and photosynthesizing, and taking up nutrients or simply anchoring itself. In other words, evolution is beautiful and we are showing our appreciating and awe of how life exists and thrives.
This comment is chef’s kiss 👌✨. It's funny when you break it down like that-we’re basically plant fanatics obsessed with their... biology. 😆 Evolution truly is beautiful, and I love how plants have adapted in so many ways! 🌱
Hahaha, what happened at 3:50?! 😂 Now I need to go back and watch! Glad I could make you laugh! ❤ Edit... Just watched yup... Busted Calathea for the win 😅😅😅😅
I use my grow lights as my lights so sometimes I will forget to turn them off at an appropriate time and the poor thing will still do its natural rhythms even though the light is on
Oh no, your poor plants must be so confused! 😂 But hey, at least they’re resilient. Maybe they just think they’re on another planet with never-ending daylight! 🌞👽 P.s. I do the same with mine sometimes 😅😬😂
Oof, Calathea White Fusion can be so dramatic. 😂 The prop box might be its last chance, but I totally get the one-strike rule. Some plants just test our patience too much! Fingers crossed for yours! 🤞🌿
A glass-door mini fridge for an orchid?! 😂 That’s some serious dedication! It depends on the type, but some thrive around 10-15°C. If I get a mini fridge for mine, I’m blaming you. 😆
Haha, the mystery jumper strikes again! 😂 I love the graphics too, even if I have no idea what it actually says! 😆 Maybe I should make my own BioMaid merch? 🤔👀
I am a three strikes and out girl but only if I really like the plant. As I have grown as a plant parent I have learnt to research the plants likes before I get it so I have a fighting chance of growing it well
That’s such a good mindset! Researching first makes a huge difference. I’ve definitely had plants I was sure I could keep alive… only to be humbled later. 😂 Live and learn!
Haha, you're not alone-so many people were trying to read it! 😆 I got it from Bershka in Greece on sale for like €10. It probably says "OLDWORLD," but it’s so fuzzy I could be wearing a secret message. Someone suggested "BioMaid," and honestly, that sounds cool too!

I’m so glad you enjoyed it! 🌱 Evolution is such a game-changer when it comes to plant care. Sending much love back to you in Virginia! 💚✨
Very interesting, thanks Memo

Ficus like showers and I was told they grow better when you shower in occasionally. That makes sense now that you said about the leaves pointing up ❤
That totally makes sense! 🌿 Ficus are kinda dramatic, but if they love something, they really love it. Shower time = spa day for them! 🚿💚
What does your shirt say? I spent the whole video trying to read it lol. But I listened, I listened. 😊
Me too! 😂
Me three! 😂
🖐🏼
Came here to ask 😂
Biomalt?

Just last night I pointed out the flower of a plant to my husband as her genitalia 😂

That tip about the light meter app - I’m onto it!! Loved this talk ❤
I keep replaying 3:50 😂😂😂
You crack me up dude ❤

Your calathea white fusion looks way better than mine 😅. If it doesn't recover in the prop box. It is a one strike and gone situation.
Oof, Calathea White Fusion can be so dramatic. 😂 The prop box might be its last chance, but I totally get the one-strike rule. Some plants just test our patience too much! Fingers crossed for yours! 🤞🌿
Maybe get a glass door mini fridge for the orchid 😂 how cold does it need to be?

Hi Memo, I want that biomaid jumper 😂 I love the graphics ❤
Haha, the mystery jumper strikes again! 😂 I love the graphics too, even if I have no idea what it actually says! 😆 Maybe I should make my own BioMaid merch? 🤔👀
Hi Memo, do I get intellectual royalty for the idea? Joking 🙃🤣 Joking aside, I can picture in my head what a biomaid graphics would look like 🤣

Like everyone else I was trying to figure out what the shirt said. 😂 Very good advice though to consider where the plant lives in the wild 😀🇨🇦
Totally off-topic, your shirt is very interesting. What is written on it and where did you get it? 😅 🕸🕷
@@turogers13 glad I wasn’t the only one wondering.

@@Houseplantygoodness you certainly made a fashion splash. 🤣💖
@@Houseplantygoodness 😆
I probably will do everything. And then a little more…. I think I need to do less! 😂
Haha, same! 😂 I get so excited and then suddenly I’m doing way too much. Sometimes less really is more when it comes to plants! 🌱
I just wanted to let you know that I recently got my sister addicted to your channel! ❤🇨🇦🤗🇨🇦🥰🇨🇦💚❤️🩹🇨🇦🌻🍀🪴🌿🌴🌵🍃🍂😊
Awwww bless thanks, hopefully she is enjoying too 😊😊😊😊🙌🙌🙌🙌💚🌿
