first time i heard this song was the first time i heard Will Oldham, but when, a few years later i heard i see a darkness i heard Cash singing "i see a darkness", i didn't notice it was the same guy who had sung "kiss" who made i see a darkness.. amazing Bonnie Prince ! everybody should know his live on Kexp ! amazing grace :)

One of the best song ever written and sung. Ive listened to it so many times when thinking about the beauty of kissing, but funny thing is that I noticed just very recently, looking again at the MV, that this kiss is about the kiss of death.
Scout Niblett and Will Oldham (stage name Bonnie "Prince" Billy) are seriously underrated. Thank you Sex Education for featuring one of my favorite musicians who deserves far more recognition than they have.
If you're new to Scout Niblett, one of my favorites is "Fuck Treasure Island." I also recommend "Black" or "Maundering" from Will Oldham (under his stage name).

Perfect song. Beautiful nuanced melody, beautiful and intense singing, piercing guitar... Scout and Will voices and singing are so right for this song. Scout Niblett just played in Lisbon and I just missed her. Damn! Will try to see her in Guimarães in three weeks' time.

I adore Will Oldham and have done so for atleast 11-12 years. But when i play his stuff for my friends they smile at me and think its to fragile and sensitive.

This came to me in a form of Spotify recommendation like five years ago and I listened to it quite a lot back then. I picked up my guitar like a week or two ago just to play something and I randomly picked E chord from the thickest string which instantly reminded me of this. Now I'm really trying to learn to play this. I'm still getting out of the chord strummer phase but I can figure it out hopefully. 🙏
