I'm from Argentina, TCL and Motorola are assembled here, so they are more affordable than Samsung and others. TCL has a lot of models with little variations between them, sometimes it's hard to know which one fits better our needs. Also the prices changes a lot! I saw this phone at three different prices in one week, same store. I think I would get one tomorrow, Black Friday sale. Thamks, you deserve more views, seriously! Edit: I've been using it for two weeks, I'm quite happy with it. Even the Gcam works in it.
My brother you and I know the real reason why they have removed the headphone jacks amongs other stuff from our phones. It's all about forcing us to spend more money on other accessories. I personally, don't like using Bluetooth headphones or buds. It's really messed up that these companies have gotten away with the removal of the things that are needed. If you a phone with type C. Very nice. I'm currently rocking a 1+ and a Moto device. I definitely want to try the other manufacturers in the future. I love the idea of swapping phones daily, weekly, or monthly. It's just so freeing.
It's sad that nowadays people don't remember when phones come with all the essentials including the charging brick, it's like there telling us that if you want all the goodies, you'll need to buy budgets phones now
Can you do 1080p 60 fps via 3rd party app like Open camera on this device ? 1080p 60fps video recording should be the standart for budget device in my opinion in 2022 and nearing 2023
I used a flip phone from 2008 to 2022 and I prefered the flip phone due to the security issues or hacking issues that come with these smart phones, especially since its google. In 2023 I am forced to pretty much buy a smart phone and I went for this budget model which is very cheap with a plan. Also to keep the phone safer from malware or hacking, I make sure not to download anything from the google play store since half those apps come with some bad malware, exploits, spyware. I have just the default apps which TCL added a lot already so no need to get more, disable bluetooth. I added some music albums, pics, movies and other content to the memory to watch things on the bus or use the youtube app. The camera on this phone is very basic, the still pictures are good enough but video at night has some problems. I will never spend 500 to a grand for a pocket computer phone. There was 2 other cheaper, crappy resolution phones available, this one was prettty damn good for being a 100 dollar phone. This phone was 32 gigs and I added another 32 for content.
Before hearing the price, I was going to complain that outside camera and maybe OS - this was kind of a side grade to my TCL 10 5G - but that price - makes me wish I didn't get my phone and waiting due to having ESP of the future - half done paying off meaning I own slight more than this phone sticker price. SO goes life. Options will be even better in another year when I pay off the other half of my current phone - so...
Very happy with my 30 SE- I’m replacing a 3G only 1st gen Motorola Moto G (which is still going strong though 3G is shutting down in my country by 2024). Mine is the Atlantic Blue colour way and I also have my app grid set to 5x6. My favourite camera mode is the movie video mode!
Keeping a phone that long, you're definitely in the minority. I haven't had a 3g phone in 5 years, and I'm much more frugal than the average person. I'm glad you were able to upgrade, I hope it works out for you 😊
I ordered this phone in October 2022, and had mostly problems with performance issues and my SD card not being recognized. I would steer clear of this phone since the customer service from TCL is awful.

I am trying to help my parents with their TCL 30SE to enable double tap screen wake up because it's very annoying and difficult for them to pick up their heavy phone and press the very small power button each time. Is it possible to double tap the screen to wake up the screen and/or swipe up after without having to press the small power button on the right side each and every time? My TCL phone lets me double tap my screen without having to press the power button on the side first.
its waaay too slow for a right-out-of-the-box phone, can't even imagine how much freeze/performance dip we'll see when this thing is being used at AVERAGE daily basis... I think I'll pass on this phone...

Hi all. Does anybody know if the UNLOCKED version of this phone has a built in Hotspot that actually works and will this work on the Verizon network or one of its of brand subsidiaries? It says it will work on Verizon in the jungle store and it says it has a hotspot, But Has ANYBODY actually used the hotspot function and if so does it function as it should or does it get throttled way down like some carriers seem to do or only work with data from different towers? MANY thanks in advance . Question #2 Does this phone have an option for HDMI Alt Mode so it can be connnected DIRECTLY to an external Monitor through the USB C cable? MANY thanks in advance . Beau
Had a tcl phone but I upgraded to an Obama phone. Even calling this a phone should be a criminal offence. It's nothing more then a paper weight. Complete worthless. do yourself a favor. If this is the best you can afford. Just save your money and get an obama phone you'll be a lot happier.
