Robert Eggers is an extraordinary director, Idk if you’ve watched any of his movies but you should give them a try, because the director is very reliant on the source material and he’s very on point with little details so I think we’ll get a very good adaptation
Yeah... This Trailer makes me Excited and Scared at the same time. I SO want it to be spectacular, but can see it potentially going off the rails at the same time... I've seen the original NOSFERATU and a few of the "remakes"... As for Defoe, I'd pay to watch him read the ingredients off of a ketchup bottle! His portrayal of Count Orlock in Shadow of the Vampire was amazing and even his poorer roles have some redeeming quality for me... So like you, I am really quietly hoping for a new Horror Classic, and praying it doesn't turn into a hack piece.
In Robert Eggers I Trust. He's 3 for 3 for me (The Witch, The Lighthouse, and The Northman). There's not an ounce of cheese in any of those three films. It's in great hands. You're going to love it.
As someone who hasn't seen anything to do with Nosferatu I found the trailer filled with tension, suspense and intrigue. It felt creepy and had a hint of terror but again that's my thoughts without knowing anything about the source material, although this trailer has perked my interest in finding out more
Those images are not of this movie. They are of Willem Defoe playing Max Schrek the original actor from Nosferatu in a movie called Shadow of the Vampire.
sounds like another great movie about the vampyr is coming.. last decent one was the one with malcovitch (the remake of remake) ive watched the black&white one, the color remake, and modern approach (film in film) that trailer definly have a taste of nosferatu :)
@@OneTrueCripple its my blanket optimism coming through OTC 😅 Though people are singing the praises of the director so they may be able to pull it out the bag
looks incredible and Eggers is one of the best working directors today (The Witch is a masterpiece)

Willem Dafoe in Shadow of the Vampire played an amazing Count Orlok. Bill Skarsgård is going to be epic in that role.

willem dafoe is underrated as fuck. he's done so much for hollywood and the gaming community and he's just an all around great human being

I've seen the original in both forms many a time....and i doesn't look like they've got the original ending in either....🦇
I'm probably not as hopeful for this as you are, friend.
