Good to see this new video! I’ve been really enjoying listening to your channel and your podcast episodes. A lot of the things discussed give me a lot of comfort, which is very valuable to me. Comfort is at an all time premium it seems like. So it’s nice to find something that lets me de-stress a little bit. Lol. Looking forwards to following your content in the new year! I have a venous malformation in my left leg that causes me chronic pain. The pain became very difficult to manage through my typical means a few years ago, so it led me down a path of figuring out why. This led me to a vascular surgeon who told me that the reason the pain had increased was because there was too much blood flowing through the malformation. He decided it was necessary to do an embolism in order to kill some of the blood vessels leading to the malformation. This procedure was done on April 2nd of 2024. Afterward, I immediately started experiencing a steadily growing pain in the back of my leg. On July 28th, the day after my birthday, the pain reached critical mass and became the worst pain I've ever felt. This led me to go to the emergency room starting a long journey of referrals to doctor after doctor. It was around this time I learned that the surgeon who performed the embolism had abruptly left the practice and that nobody in that office, not even the seniors in the office were comfortable doing that procedure and typically referred patients to specialists. The cherry on top is no one in the office was aware he was planning to or had done the procedure. Finally, I got referred to Duke University. A hospital with the reputation of being one of the best in the country. And after going there I can tell you that the reputation is well-earned. And before long I met with a doctor who was highly disturbed by the entire situation as well as the effect it had on my physical and mental health. The doctors at Duke University had already informed me that the previous surgeon who cut and ran performed the wrong procedure. The procedure he performed was to treat Arterial Vascular Malformations. Not Venus malformations. My new doctor informed me that the procedure involves putting glue in the arteries. Which can be done because arteries are fairly large. Unlike veins which are quite a bit smaller which unfortunately didn't stop the surgeon from putting the glue in my veins. Hence the preceding agony. All facets of my treatment regarding the venous malformation as well as the botched embolism have been moved to Duke University. My new pain specialist there has me on a regimen that has me nearly pain-free. And my new Doctor, the man who informed me just what the problem was, has a procedure in mind that might substantially mitigate the pain in the back of the leg. Another doctor that I've spoken to has a specific procedures that she is confident will effectively treat my venous malformation to try to subdue the pain in that area. After severe crippling pain completely encompassing my life for nearly nine months, I've been almost completely pain-free for about a week now. Hedonism is fine and all, but I'll take basic comfort. Hopefully, this teaches you a lesson I had to learn the hard way. A lesson I should have already known. Don't rush into anything too quickly. And never forget the value of a second opinion. I wish you and everyone else who reads this a very Merry Christmas or whatever custom you celebrate. Stay safe and comfortable.

The ethics of the Christofacists are entirely backwards. They think that things cause death any misery (like guns) are good, and the things that cause new life and happiness (like sex) is evil.

When the whole thing came out a friend came to me with the regular reaction and all I could tell them was "This is what happens when you do not read a lot of myth and legend." The story did not strike me as anything else.

I never knew Pokemon had... LORE. When it came out I was in *that* stage of puberty when you think you are "too mature" for such silly "child-things" - and was convinced it was going to be one of those trends that last a summer... I was wrong. So very wrong...

I would like to add a bit more Pokemon info I believe the Typhlosion story was going to be apart of the Arceus game lore, all of the Arceus lore is based off of japanese folklore, and also there is dark stuff already in Pokemon, like Phantump and they are stumps possessed by the spirits of children who died in the forest. Their cries sound like eerie screams,

This game was a surprise when I discovered it and I played it on my Switch. Everything about it was spectacular! Quick, but it is just an interactive version of the movie/play. It does what it needed to do and I love it!

Hi! Lovely video! Pomosexual right here haha, was happily surprised that you covered it in the video. I don't often find people talking about it and if they do it's easily bad rep. They mention about how ironic it is (it is though! lol) but use that as a reason to dismiss it completely. Def prefered how you covered it. Funnily enough, I fully and totally relate to how you descriped the term queer, and feel like for a lot of people who identify with pomo that's very much how they feel as well. But due to the dislike of labeling and the weight that word carries I'm not always comfortable using it. I really did feel like there were no terms that fully captured how I feel and experience attraction, so aside from not wanting labels, I felt like I didn't belong to any labels. I would go without a label, again, in a perfect world, but in this one that made me very restless - as if I had to prove something. Going by pomo (both romantic and sexual by the way) has given me so much rest in that regard. For me, it's the best!

Generally speaking, cis-men can respect the physical boundaries, which this can be applied to not just cis-men. If the woman looks uncomfortable why seeing a random guy walking down the same sidewalk as her especially during sunset or the night, the guy can just cross to a different sidewalk. Also just treating women like their human being with common decency. However, in the experience you had, you were doing your best to make the girl feel comfortable, so you're all good.

One thing comes to mind and that's just smiling. A gentle, comforting and caring smile. Not a smirk. That's how us not-cis-men have been making ourselves not threatening for centuries. :D That aside there will be people who feel threatened what ever you do. And that's not on you. Like in that train scenario it sounds like you did everything in your power to make the other person comfortable. They might have prejudices about your looks or even trauma that influences their reactions. All you can do then is try to rest easy knowing you've done everything you can. But you asking this genuine question means a lot!

One of the things I love about your explanations is that despite the questions feeling like they have an obvious answer you accept the fact that people don't always have the same life experience or basic education and meet people where they're at.

Excellent stuff! And you talk so beautifully about these subjects. That's a fine line to walk - to be correct and precise but not forsaking the sensuality aspect of it all - and you do it like a dancer!

This is a really hard question, so forgive the wall of text. It sounds like you did what you could in that situation. The thing is, if a person fears an unknown cis man on sight, then their fear is probably not about you personally. It's an extrapolation of a pattern of past experiences, social narratives, and real statistical risk. You're unlikely to be able to overcome all that in the space of a train ride. As much as it sucks, sometimes you just have to let someone be wrong about you. There are going to be times when you do all the right things, and someone is still going to be uncomfortable, because the real source of the discomfort goes far beyond one interaction. In a broad sense, you can help by working to make the world less hostile and dangerous for the people in question. But that's not something one guy can do on a train all by himself, you know? All you can do in a situation like that is mitigate harm where you can, and then go back to working on the long project of making things generally better and kinder. Doing what you can to make your community a joyfully safe and inclusive one might not do much for Train Lady, but it does move the needle in the right direction. The thing is, an entrenched culture of misogyny, violence, and socially enforced gender hierarchy sucks for everybody. Cis-men, cis-women, anyone who transgresses the rules of their assigned gender role --- everybody. It sucks for the person who was scared of you on the train, who probably spends a lot of time being scared of strangers. I'm sure having people treat you like a threat when you know you'd never harm them sucks for you. It sucks, and it feels bad, and I'm glad you want things to suck less. As things are now, though, some interactions are just going to be uncomfortable. Shit hurts because it's broken. We just gotta do our best to take care of each other until it heals. I do recommend seeking out what many people who are not cis-men have already shared about their experiences --- no one speaks for everyone, but lots of people have put their stories out there, and there are some common themes. We all have blind spots around experiences we don't share, so it's always good to expend your perceptions. What makes individual cis-man't folks comfortable around you is going to vary from person to person, but it never hurts to do the homework. You can make sure the non-cis-guys around you have space to speak. You can let folks in your community know that they can come to you with concerns, and take them seriously when they do. You can give people time and space to get to know you when they're initially cautious. (You may already be doing these things.) Like, there are absolutely good things you can do. But the problem is bigger than you, and will hurt you --- and use you to hurt others --- in ways you can't always prevent. I say this, not to be a bummer, but because I want to be sure you know that you're not failing just because you can't always make it better. (Nuance is endless, but I am running out of characters. Hope this is helpful. Thanks for asking!)

The atrocious state of sex ed (mostly the lack thereof) is infuriating and deliberately harmful. In the US - don't know about other places - not all states even require it to be *medically accurate*. They intentionally not just withhold necessary information, they straight up LIE to kids about their bodies. It shouldn't be considered "lucky" for me to have gotten accurate, if woefully inadequate, information. The lack of ANY consent education also does a lot of harm, and of course the harms are magnified when combined.
