>Hold shift while placing zones if you dont want streets. Hold control to create a single parcel so you can control the size. Like if you're trying to develop stage 8 4x4 towers you can make specific zones for them.
I lost many hours of my 20's to this game. I'm still oddly proud of the super-successful metropolises I constructed. What I loved was setting up neighboring "cities" that were all industrial and power plants, then my real cities would buy their power from those cities--it's great how pollution cannot cross city limits. It's science.
Thank you! I'm just glad I finally got this beast of a series done and out there and that so many people have been able to share their own experiences with the games because of it.
I still play SimCity 4 to this day. I think it's a fantastic game, has an amazing community still supporting it, and is a ton of fun. I do think there were some missed opportunities, but overall, they did great with this version. The graphics still hold up well to today, the map size can be insanely huge, the gifts are great, the zoning is fun, the highways are much improved, and overall it's just a well done game. I do wish building skyscrapers in the game wasn't so picky though.
No one liked the pop ups. But it appears to me u were among those who simply could not figure out to open the options and simply disable them and rather keep complaining
I have multiple monitors. Could I lightly play this whilst also doing light work on another monitor? I used to do that with Tropico 4 when that was nicely windowed (via Wineskin) and it is not possible anymore. It was a good way to get some causual work done whilst semi playing. It's no good with Tropico now as it scrolls to the edge of the map when I take my mouse away from the game.
I honestly don't know off the top of my head if the edge scrolling would let you play it like that, but the gameplay itself fits well with that kind of playing, in my experience.

Wow, I can't believe I never knew that. That tooltip should definitely be made more evident somewhere. Thank you!
Hold alt when zoning to change the zoning direction, you can get A LOT of control with how you zone with these shortcuts :)
Champion, never new that wow!! Thank you!! goin back to reinstall now!
Also not an issue if you put down your roads first like I assume most people do 😄

Yes it is!
This is excellent work. This deserves far more views than it has.

NAM is also essential for resolving the many issues with the game's traffic simulator and pathfinding ai.
I think we can all spot a gamer when we see one. Nice quote hahaha

I want a SimCity 3000 definitive edition, with more buildings and future stuff.
Honestly just making it so that it can natively play in a modern aspect ratio would be nice
@@HistoricalHindsight theres a gog patch for it just search Simcity 3000 Unlimited - widescreen support
@@HistoricalHindsight Getting it to run in HD is quite easy. There's even a modified exe file for that on GOG if I'm not mistaken.
One already exists. It's called SimCity 3000 Unlimited
criminally underrated video
I usually was thing of low rises homes and American tenements.
Sim City 4 the only game that I crash with 2 many mods with being a 32 bit application 4GB ram max you can got that with mods
4Gb patch reduces lot of crashes, reduce the background loading programs by restricted accounts, no stema no origin, no.., only essential !
would be great if a new new 2d city builder game to came out, ai art could make thousands of different isometric building variations
