Great video, I really wished we had enough land in my area to use mules or horses. I can pretty much walk one end to the other of most out public land territories in one day. My best to you and yours. 🎥🥇🥇🥇
Question, don’t they use their tails for balance? Seems like you would want them to have every advantage on the trail. Could be a dominance/control issue also. Just curious not pickin a fight bro. Love the content
I think the frost destroys a track if it’s easily visible frost. The moisture just dilutes that already faint scent. I had a similar scenario a couple weeks ago. I didn’t have trail cam pics though, so I was just guesstimating at the age of the track.
@@rowdyhoundsman oh yeah circled around and did everything to try and get it going. They could tail whip on it and that was it. Oh well I’ll hopefully get him caught soon enough
@@ontheridgeadventures4650 I’m convinced that the frost destroyed the scent. You’ve got proof your dogs can follow an older trail. The frost seems like the biggest variation.
So funny! Thank God for cameras? Keep riding boys!
I enjoy your content especially hunting off of mules, please keep the videos coming.
Yeah will do and thanks for the support. I’m currently on a bighorn hunt so look out for that.
Keep the vids coming my friend and stay after it!
Thank you I appreciate it. Currently on a bighorn sheep hunt so look out for that video coming up!

Thanks Joel for the support and hope you’re doing well.

Has nothing to do with dominance control

Yeah no telling what went on that day. I know today I had a 27hr track and my dogs could open up here and there on it all day. Scent is a weird thing
@@ontheridgeadventures4650 It sure is weird! Did you try circles out where you lost the track, up on the ridges or did you try staying with the track?

@@rowdyhoundsman yeah I couldn’t agree more with you.
Mules,beats walking
Turned his scent off!
Have ever tried to figure the distance a lion cover at travel , then circle out 1or 2 mi. ect. maybe find a fresher track ??
Yeah that’s pretty much what I did and never could freshen it up.
Brett sent me here👍🏻
Nice Brett is a good buddy of mine. Thanks for checking out my channel
Ha i know ill never lion hunt but good video
Thank you. You should try one time!
Hay man what you give your dog's to build stamina and fitness to run hole day?
I feed a grain free dog food that is 25% fat 25% protein and keep them exercised.
Why didn’t he pull the mules tail out
I do sometimes or just let them flick it out on their own.
@@ontheridgeadventures4650 fair enough mate, love your videos
@@trumbydownunder750 thank I appreciate the support
How bout more hunting and less talking would rather hear the hounds than listen to someone talk just saying
Turned his scent off!
Probably could be the case or just the conditions we have down here who knows
@@ontheridgeadventures4650 I like listening to all the theories about lions being able to shut their scent down, especially by the old timers!
@@AnecdoteofaHoundsman oh yeah it’s cool to hear all the ideas of what lions do especially with scent
