I'm surprised no one else but you pointed this out, the kid in the backstory does look pretty uncanny. Aira rules tho, her personality's so fun and her transformation looks sick, it also just feels far more important and mutual with their backstories.

9:26 these first episodes of Dandadan feel a lot like Jojo's in this regard because although the Jojo's protagonists stand almost all the time can simply overpower their foes through brute strength, pretty much everytime they need to find clever ways to use their powers/surroundings/enemy stand weaknesses to be able to get a good hit on the enemy.
It's amazing how Fujimoto had the 1996 Bulls worth of talent in manga as his assistants. 4 would go onto do Spy X Family, Dandadan, Hell's Paradise, and now Centuria.
