I think there’s something almost every character has done this season that we should be proud of. Olivia was promoted captain, Carisi won his first case with such passion, Amanda’s having breakthroughs and actually went to therapy and trusting people which is something we never thought she’d do. This season by far is the best. Warren came in and really stepped it up this season.
Baby Crafter Kennedy I agree except for Amanda. She became highly unlikeable this season for me and it just got worse because there was no growth just regression. Hence why the kidnapping plot line bored me. But overall yes, I am glad that the #Leightsbackon
Nadia Hassan They build Amanda’s character to be like that tho. I wish more Amanda haters would realize that and understand that. It’s like in a typical show there’s a trouble child. Well In this case it’s Amanda. Unfortunately some people just don’t understand and that’s fine. However, you put it in a nicer way then some other people have. Some people are nasty and rude. But the regression is happening for an upcoming storyline. Which may finally get people to start liking her as she may change who she is. But there has to be tough and rough spots along the way where people might not like her. I think her going to therapy and trusting people and realizing her habits and mistakes was a big step for her given what the Amanda character is like.
Carisi pulled a classic police interrogation move: "Listen, I know how it is..." It is a potent way to get a suspect to blurt out a confession, and there's little coaching you can do for a client that is this egotistical. Not sure what defense counsel was objecting to. This is cross examination, so Carisi was allowed to ask leading questions, for example. I guess defense didn't want her client to incriminate himself (5th amendment), but as the judge pointed out, her client started that conversation with minimal prompting from Carisi.
The objection is, "Your Honor, my client is an arrogant fool, who is about to buy himself a ticket to jail by opening his mouth." Unfortunately for him, the judge correctly overruled that objection.
It's pretty much the objection from the movie _Liar Liar._ "Your Honor, I object!" 'And why is that, Mr. Reed?' "Because it's devastating to my case!!" 'Overruled.' "Good call!"
That's my point, raised above. The defense attorney never bases her objection, other than she's desperately trying to slow down the prosecution questioning.
Carisi really has come a long way, though he claims that he was gonna lose this case, he's rocked this one by getting the suspect to come clean. Benson really has gotten through to him by not letting him give up on himself, Captain Benson really is a great boss. Benson may be all tough and fierce like all captains should be, but deep down, she really cares.

No one better to keep justice rolling to the right path other than a former NYPD SVU Detective that has passion in law that he took the bar and become an ADA that wanted justice is served in the courtroom. I love the cinematography and dialogue in this scene. I rarely ever see back and forward angle shots be so seamless. Excellent job! Superb acting and directing and lighting and sound work! This is an excellent scene!
Lawyer here: What is the grounds for these objections? Argumentative questioning? Speculative question? The defense attorney never provides grounds for her objection; but if the script included some grounds, we could judge the judge better. This might be another classic case of Hollywood throwing the law out the window.
