"The numbers" That is not why i clicked on this video. I actually like you and your videos and care about how well you're holding up and a decent human being!
I really appreciate how open you are about this. I can't say I am surprised you walked away. Trucking is a lifestyle. If a person doesn't enjoy living on the road they are absolutely going to quit.
Yes OTR is definitely a lifestyle change, not just a job. I actually enjoyed it a lot, and will probably come back once I get low on money from traveling lol.
So basically this would be great for a person with no family or someone who dislikes their family or someone with a non-working girlfriend/boyfriend and not married and just wants to get away from it all from it all. Got it 👍👍 🤣🤣
Sorry to see you go. But I am very excited for you, and the experiences you are going to have. When I was younger, I did a lot of traveling. With that I gained a lot of knowledge, and unbelievable amount of confidence in me. So good luck, and keep posting my friend. ✌🤙🌎
Are you able post your pay showing as a check instead of app? Everybody doing pay over melton don’t compare to your pay lol. I wonder what’s the difference. They are also getting 3k plus miles and also not even new driver. There number don’t compare.
If another company was offering significantly more pay then I’d probably try them out. But I never had any problems dealing with Melton and they treat their drivers great, which is also very valuable. So as long as Meltons pay is still competitive if/when I decide to drive some more I would probably pick them again.
This is dope he did what he wanted to do I’m hoping to get with melton in the next few months get my house ready to rent out so I can pay off these credit cards #roadworrier😅
Is that all net pay ? Would you recommend for someone to come from europe to work as a truck driver ? I currently get paid around $1700 a month which is standard in europe. Are the expenses quite alot in the US ? Thanks for the video
Yes that’s all my net pay. Your expenses will depend a lot on how much stuff you want and where you live. I lived in south Texas so while I was renting a nice apartment it wasn’t very expensive. And the car I have isn’t anything fancy but it’s paid off so I didn’t have any car payment. If you’re single and living in the truck (not renting anywhere) you can spend as little as $1k per month, while making $4-$6k per month driving, even with no experience.
@@H80989 thanks to Bidenomics, prices went up each year. End of President Trump I spent 60-70$usd on groceries and currently the cost for the same exact things(I don't like change so I buy exactly the same things as I always do)is $110 and gas is higher, electricity is higher even though we are going green and we have massive solar farms and wind farms in Texas which you'd think would drop prices on kilowatt hours because wind and sun are free electricity because all the wind turbines and solar panels are subsidized and massive tax right offs yet the electric companies keep jacking rates . Hopefully trump wins a Honest election but until then don't come to USA. Inflation is making it hard to live and wages haven't went up as promised. Biden destroyed America basically
You’d have netted $60,000 had you stayed for a year. You would definitely make more later on or with another company and save a lot if you’re living in the truck. But if you’re okay with $60k, that’s any job that’s $23-24/hour with 500 hours of overtime (~50 hours a week which is still much less than 70hrs in trucking). Any trade job will get you that.
@@richardlopez3868 Yes, for some people that’s okay, especially if you enjoy OTR driving. For me it worked out great because I got to see the country, do a job I enjoyed, make good money, and save most of it. Of course that’s not the case for everyone, as we all have different goals and needs. Some people think a CDL is a golden ticket, but there’s a lot to consider. The OTR lifestyle isn’t for everyone
@@BeKindToAll03an you save 50k a year working a minimum wage job at burger King? Otr drivers get per diem so they pay less taxes. This would be a great option for someone in that position lol, but that’s definitely not the only situation it’s good in
Thanks for sharing for real!!!
I can’t believe you quit bro , I was watching you before I started at Melton now I’m 4 months in . 😔

Do your home time start at orientation? From day 1
Do they have driver facing cameras?

Was that your goss or net on the checks
How was your sleep schedule? Were you able to go to bed around the same time every night?
Were you able to bring any of your relatives or friend for ride alongs?
I haven’t done it, but yes Melton does allow you to bring friends or family
Are you going back to Melton if you ever decide to go back trucking? Or different company but flatbed

How did the sign on bonus work what is it like a pay out every 2 to 3 months
Is this all take home pay, or pre tax?
Do they pay when you sit ?
I don’t remember if they do or not. But it wasn’t often that I’d go more than a few hours or a day without getting my next load
What are expenses in this? Is that gas? Food?

Yep, you probably won’t make six figures your first year driving, but within a short time you can get there if you make the right choices.
Yeah but you basically live at work then just sleep at home and do very minimal things before you got to return to work

Exactly, working 70 hrs and making 12-1300 dollars is close to minimum wage. It seems that most truckers are too stupid to realize that
