We spent two days of bird photography, mostly focusing on gannets and puffins at the Raudinupur Cape in north Iceland. It was windy and the distance was great from us to the gannets but it turned out to be more fun than the conditions indicated. We had a great time and the conditions really got better. Enjoying being out in nature surrounded by puffins was a great experience.

Beautiful birds and amazing hunter s , they hit the ocean like daggers 🗡 when fishing , we here in Ireland have a colony of them on the great saltese islands off the coast of Waterford .
You guys are quite the pair. I feel most relaxed after that video.
EXCELLENT WORK YOU GUYS......the video footage is amazing...........thanks for posting
Amazing views of all these Gannets. Absolutely beautiful. We get them here too in Florida but only in winter months.

Thank you Hans-Olof, best regards to Sweden from Akureyri, Iceland.
I must come there and photograph those birds - both are on my bucket list! Lovely video. Thanks.
Hello. Greetings from Melbourne, Australia. Like your style, nice videos and calm atmósfera. New follower.
Gudman and Gyda, thanks for sharing your photography experiences in Iceland. Your images and the video content are awesome. It is great to see that you both enjoy watching the birds as well as photographing them. Looking forward to your future videos.
Glad you like them!
Another excellent video as always from you two.
What a amazing place, great video😍
Just a wonderful video and beautiful photos as well. Thank you for sharing.
It brought back memories of photographing both Gannets and Puffins on the island of Newfoundland here in Canada
Thank you Stephen. It would be great to visit Canada one day. Icelanders and Canadians seem to be similar characters ;-)
@@GudmannAndGyda If you are able to visit here, particularly the province of Ontario, I would be happy to show you both around a little part of our beautiful country. I would also love to visit Iceland some day.
👌👌👍👍❤❤
Fantastic! I love your passion. The gannets appear to enjoy floating on the wind. Your video's are so calming to watch. You almost take us with you. Keep up the great work. Best wishes mike 👍
Hi
Just subscribed, your a breathe of fresh air, videos about a fabulous part of the world and the wildlife their , not spending the whole video talking about expensive equipment
And your using a DSLR still!! Fantastic, hope I can get their one day soon
Best wishes
Many thanks! Yes, we aim for the mirrorless next year, but DSLR's still rock.
On so many levels, great video, I love the teamwork.
Much appreciated!
Another amazing video. Very interesting bird subjects to photograph at Ireland.
Glad you enjoyed it Kiah, - you probably mean Iceland ;-)
@@GudmannAndGyda It was a typo error, I mean Iceland.
It's the first time I've seen you two on RUclips. You both work well together. Really enjoyed it. Loved the puffens. 👍
I did noticed that you both had you lens hood on during the first day. I take my off when it's windy because I struggle to get clear images.
Always excellent video
excellent i really enjoyed this top quality video **subbed**
Another great video! As usual, I'm really enjoying the slowness of it and you are doing a great job conveying what it's like to be there.
Thank you Jeroen. We are trying to create videos that reflect on what we are doing and how it is to be there. We aim to get better at it. This was a wonderful day even though the video seems to be a bit windy.
@@GudmannAndGyda Well, you are already good at it! Windy is part of what it's like to be there 🙂
MUITO LEGAL....
Very nice video. I was wondering how you mounted your Saramonic microphone to your camera. I would like to have a similar setup but was trying to figure out how to mount an XLR mic to the camera. Can you explain? Thank you.
👍
A nice video. Iceland is a fantastic country of birds. Unfortunately, I have not been to Iceland. But in the Faroe Islands. Certainly without comparison. You have 500 f/4 and 300 f/2.8.
How does the 300 f/2.8 with 2x convurder compare to the 500 f/4 ?
I have thought a lot about the 300f/2.8 (100-300 f/2.8) because I can use it for a lot other than birds. But I know 300 mm is too little for birds in many situations. So 1.4 or 2x possible crop on camera is necessary in certain situations. Thanks for the good video.😊
The 300 f2.8 VRII lens with a 2x tele is just as good as the 500 f4 in most situations. The 2x tele was released by Nikon the same day as the lens - so it is a good combo.
nature there.
wild there
are alive
how long will it be
well
I don't know .?
How did you attach the microphone to the side of the lens?
We live in totally different climates, but we have similar birds. In Hawaii, we have Red-Footed Boobies, very closely related to your Gannets. Unfortunately for people (but good for the birds) they live in a highly inaccessible area on the farthest peninsula of a U.S. Marine Corps Base. What better way to be protected? I see them flying along the coast, but have never been able to see their colony.
Ever thought of contacting the Base Commander .. to get permission to take pics of the Birds .. Worse they can say is no or best they they can say is Yes ...
If you don't ask you'll never know the answer
