Finally, all your hard work paid off because you managed to photograph this beautiful bird. Thanks for sharing the bird photography adventure with us. 1 LIKE for the video. Greetings from Singapore.
20:30 nice bird and nice picture. coming for a weekend trip later this year. looking into which month is the best for what subject. keep your video's coming, i love them.
Absolutely wonderful video of your camping outing. Amazed to see your nice snow camp setup and engineered seating ! Presumably you knew the weather before you set off with such a minimalist tent. Hilarious to see the Ptarmigans back at your car. They are incredibly beautiful birds. A much warmer 2 degree start for us here in southern Australia for tomorrow when I'll get out to hopefully see and photograph a Lyrebird as well as Platypus, Bandicoots and Antechinus at the nearby reserve. If you don't know of the latter, look it up for an interesting read about it's life cycle. Cheers, Richard
Thank you. I would love to see the Lyrebird. If I remember correctly it can imitate sounds and sings wonderfully. Recording it would be a challenge. Australia has a lot more species than we do here in Iceland. I hope you will have a good time. // Einar Gudmann
Loved the story telling Einar. I was told by an ornithologist this winter that ptarmigans are not doing well in the Scottish Highlands due to our increasingly wet springs affecting the survival rate of their young. Also the frequent thawing of the snow cover, even on the summits of our highest mountains, is making their winter camouflage less effective. Great work.
Thank you. The ptarmigan population here in Iceland is probably facing similar problems as in the Scottish Highlands. It seems the ptarmigans benefit from cold climate in sub-zero conditions. Warm and fluctuating temperatures are causing problems for them.
I have long enjoyed your photography and always appreciate the quality of your videos. I hope to get to Iceland someday. Interesting to see your sound set up, I have been curious about getting better ambient sounds than just a basic shotgun mic. And isn't that the way it goes, you spend the night out looking for wildlife and then find your target back at the car!
Thank you. This was the first video taken mostly on the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 and the first time I used the audio setup in the field. - Hope you go to Iceland someday. Best wishes // Einar Gudmann
Nice, I enjoyed that. It reminds me of a day when I was at a nature reserve with a friend looking for a certain Dragonfly, plenty of sightings of them but never the right opportunity for the photograph I wanted. When we finally got back to the car, one was sitting in a bush just in front of us.
Your statement is ridiculous. You want to be blessed by a god because you seek out revenge. I am sure Jesus was supposed to have said turn the other cheek. Not seek out and get blessed for revenge. To the wildlife photographer you time and commitment to your work is wonderful to watch and your work is excellent. After 40 years in the job I have just started to photograph wildlife photography after Finnishing work through ill health. I have found it therapeutic but extremely hard but enjoying learning a new skill.
So nice the ptarmigans awaited you! This has been a real treat.

Ptarmigans have amazing camouflage... it's like as soon as they stop moving, they disappear

There was certainly a lot of ptarmigan sightings, but they were not exactly cooperating like your dragonflies, until in the end. // Einar Gudmann
I did enjoy watching this video and it gave inspiration for bird photography.
Great to hear! Thank you for watching.
good work - really enjoyed the video!
Awesome, thank you!
I think your video was primarily about experiecing nature. and that was very nice but too cold for me,😅
Yes it was, all our videos are about experiencing nature. Photography happens to be the medium. Thank you for watching.
You rock man! Revenge truly IS a dish best served Cold 🥶 😃😂😂😂 May the Lord Jesus bless you
