I have enjoyed so much, listening to this wonderful concert the last few months, a great orchestra, a very good director with feeling for the music, and last of all, Lang Lang that I will never tire of hearing him play, and watching his love and involvement in the musical piece. Everything he does is a masterpiece, honoring the writer, and showing the blessing that he has received from our dear Lord of glory.
I have watched this beautiful, moving concerto, played by this wonderful Maestro, many times, almost addicted to it, Lang Lang “ feels”. The music, love it, Xx🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Ever thought there was ever anything new to say about this old piano concerto warhorse - well Lang Lang certainly does. He plays the piano with his whole body as if he is relating some kind of inner story line to the work. Explosive drama, tender lyricism, passion, humour, delivered with spontaneity and a virtuoso technique that seems effortless. His relaxed confidence endearing himself to capacity audiences worldwide.
piano345 I couldn't agree more. For me is not only listening to his playing that brings me joy, but also watching him feel all the emotions music conveys.
Here we go again with the "genius" thing, just because he's performing the world's most played, most common concerto. Hundreds of pianists have done this; do they deserve to be called "geniuses, too?
Fantastic Lang Lang. For me is not only listening fun that brings me joy and pleasure. How do you feel in your heart while playing? For me it’s a gift for few days, that you offer me. Thank you infiniment.🎉🎶🥀
Shirley, I believe this piano concerto to be the most beautiful, powerful and emotional of the Romantic Era. As you no doubt know, there was an Australian movie made on the life of Eileen Joyce in the 1950's called Where Ever She Goes and features the end of this Piano Concerto played by Eileen with the London Symphony Orchestra. In the film and in real life this ending was the crowning achievement of a passionate child prodigy's struggle to become a world renown virtuoso. Though the film was made on a shoe string budget, wouldn't a remake today, be a powerful movie for all classical music lovers ! I don't want to take anything away from Lang Lang here, however when ever I hear the ending of this magnificent concerto I shed a tear or two, being so very proud of Eileen Joyce's wonderful career.
omg...this Grieg peace always makes me shiver...as much as Lang Lang...this man is awesome...i can't believe my eyes...he plays so naturally...is like if he were breathing...no need eyes...
Anything that Lang Lang plays deservers the highest praise. His brilliance is totally in accordance with ALL the great pianists who have preceded him. God created him, and all through extreme difficulty in his younger life, God saw to it that LL would give the world a gift, a person of extreme potential talent and in touch of the deepest emotions required to give of himself to a much greater cause than himself, God's divine goodness and love through music!
@@hrh4961 A wiser man than either of us, King David, said in Ps 14:1 and Ps 53:1, "The fool has said in his heart, there is no God." He says again, Ps 68:19, 20, "Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, the God of our salvation! Our God is the God of salvation; and to God the Lord belong escapes from death." In Hebrews 10:31, the Lord says, "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." In Philippians 2:10, 11, He says to us, "That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Even as LL has wonderful parents, it was God who gave him the inner incentive to practice, practice; the love of the music, the ability to remember, the dexterity of his fingers, everything it takes to be a great pianist, who can, in turn, bless us with this beautiful music.

Piano conceived by Lang Lang, or Maestro delivered by harpsichord, it's an unsolved dilemma yet. No matter their provenience, this fascinating relationship will be a long-lasting one, just for our sake.
A humble genius who loves to entertain his adorable fans!! He whipped up the joyous moment with his sweet flawless 🎭 wonderful performance!! Go Lang Lang go 🎊 🎉

And by far, the most blatantly arrogant, spectacle-loving, cloyingly "expressive" player ever seen in a concert setting is referred to as [choke] humble? His way-over-the-top, stupefyingly embarrassing stage theatrics are entertainments for his [cough] adoring fans? Boy, I must be missin' somethin' here!
piano 345 said it perfectly. But I would add...like a breath for fresh spring air; the genius force of Lang Lang hits the classical world! I so love to hear the old-school oppressive critics scream! And all this without being gay!?!
I didn't think it possible to imagine such smug arrogance as exhibited here. The imbecilic-looking smiling, especially in the 3rd movement, combined with the over-the-top, "gracefulissimo" arm and hand display, is just too much. And speaking of "too much," what does he think he's doing in the final pages, barreling through the coda at an unprecedented madcap speed? It vulgarizes the music, but he no doubt is convinced that he's creating another sensational, triumphant effect for his adoring fans. That's all that counts, right?

I must say, it is always wonderful to see a pianist really lose him/herself in the music they play, and that to me is what is always so captivating about Lang Lang. Really, because of that, it is almost impossible for him to put on a “bad” concert even though, if I’m being honest, I was never very impressed with his sound. It always seemed rather hollow to me. It was never harsh, certainly, but it lacked the deeply textured richness that separates the extraordinary from the merely talented. Sorry.
