I recently got into DE shaving and bought one of those sampler packs to test blades. I agree there could be QC issues with only trying one box of each blade, but I've found the feathers to be way better than astra SP. They slice right through course stubble like butter! Will look into wilkinson.

I am glad I finally found somebody on RUclips who is addressing this issue regarding DE razor blades (especially from a professional perspective). There are many personal reviews on RUclips on DE razor blades and most of them are or outdated or they only talk about sharpness and smoothness, but they rarely mention anything about quality control and quality consistency.
I have been shaving my head with DE razors for a while now. I have tried around 10 different popular DE razor brands like Feather, Voskhod, Astra, Pol Silver, etc in combination with my Mühle Rocca R96 Black and my Feather AS-D2S and most of these razor blades are just fine in terms of sharpness and smoothness. Don't get me wrong, needless to say there are differences between the different brands, but they all get the job done just fine. If you are lucky at least...
Quality control/consistency of all the brand I have tested thus far are just not on par. Voskhod being the worst and Feather being "ok-ish", but still not acceptable considering the high price. Nothing is more frustrating than having to change 2 or 3 blades (Voskhod) during a shave, especially when you are in a hurry.
Thank you for your recommendation sir, I will give the Wilkinson DE razors a try.

Your mileage may vary - regular dorco blade may be fine for others as not everyone needs or wants the sharpest blade. A less sharp blade can sometimes be more comfortable to shave with and that works fine for some skin types.

Using feather for quite some time. True, it's a bit more expensive but every blade thus far is good. They produce many different blades as well allowing the barber to match the blade with the work. I'm very happy with them. Great video.

I like the regular Dorco razor. I ordered 1,000 blades from them awhile back and I'm actually coming up on my last 2 or 3 boxes. Thanks to your video I'm gonna just get a 100 pack when I run out to make sure the quality hasn't diminished before I buy in bulk again

This is the only person I have heard claim that the qc of Astra greens have gone down. If you check wetshaving channels and forums you probably will not find anyone else making that claim. Most likely those Astras you got are perfectly fine. The wilkinson swords are good blades too and Voskhod is another blade with medium sharpness that have a ptfe coating which give them a very smooth glide.

Astra's aren't meant to be the most sharp, they are for people with sensitive skin, they work well for the group of people that have trouble with in-grown hairs and irritation. If you're looking for a blade that will last a long period of time, I would recommend the Gilette Nacet blades. FYI there is also two types of Wilkinsen sword blades, those made in Germany and those made in India. I've only tried the ones made in India, which are much cheaper than the German ones, and they are great blades. If you're looking for a blade to fulfill a specific purpose, such as cutting multiple days of beard growth smoothly, then you should buy specific blades based on their level of sharpness, but many people prefer to trim their beards before shaving and use a more forgiving blade like an Astra, Personna Blue, Permasharp, Voshcod, etc because it generally suits their skin better. The Nacet blade seems like it would suit your particular needs best as a barber, but the Indian Wilkinsen's are a cheaper, slightly less sharp, alternative.

great video mate. seems like you have your fair share of bad blades.
anyways i would recommend you these blades if you can try..
    - Personna lab blues- awesome awesome blades. retails for $14 so you can get it cheaper. have 100 blades open so no packaging issue and best of all they are super sharp and super smooth and durable.
    - Dorco Titan: surprising really good, quite like personnas
    - Bolzano- i think u should try them.. maybe you can use on clients whom you think feather proguard is needed..
    - Honorable mentions are Gillette platinum, Polsilver and perma sharp but they are expensive blades so dont think would be really good choice.
