On the old Carol Burnett show. Harvey Korman thought Tim Conway was the funniest human alive. Many times, Korman had extreme difficulty composing himself because Conway had cracked him up so bad.
Not that anyone nowadays would know this but the Cannonball Run movies with Burt Reynolds and Dom DeLuise we're always hilarious. they were personal friends and it was hard for them to keep it together while acting together. for the record I'm not that old I just know a lot of movies.

They want you to grab em and rub them and mush them down and push em around. My pitbull loves to rough-house! She does it with the neighborhood dog who doesn't really seem to want to play like that, That dog is more of a jumper, a runner, wants the others to follow her, but my dog gets up in her face, which causes me to have some alarm-- And when I look at a dog, I kinda know when it's upset. And not by it's face, because dogs don't express like that... I think the pug might not have liked being held under his arms, but he didn't indicate in his body language that he wanted to be put down for a second. And from what I've heard with pugs? They're incredibly pleased to be held at all and turn into big manipulable pancakes that let you carry them wherever you want. Like as if they were waiting all their life to be carried round. That pug loved that scene.
That wasn't a real pug! Notice how they cut to another shot as he began shaking the dog. Directors stated it in the audio commentary they used a dummy to avoid cruelty to animals. To give you some perspective they even accounted for all the cockroaches after each take to ensure animal rights groups didn't protest.
In the movie Shawshank Redemption, they had to find a maggot that died of natural causes to feed to the bird. Petra would not let them use a living maggot. Lol

I think the pug might not have liked being held under his arms, but he didn't indicate in his body language that he wanted to be put down for a second. And from what I've heard with pugs? They're incredibly pleased to be held at all and turn into big manipulable pancakes that let you carry them wherever you want. Like as if they were waiting all their life to be carried round. That pug loved that scene.

That wasn't a real pug! Notice how they cut to another shot as he began shaking the dog. Directors stated it in the audio commentary they used a dummy to avoid cruelty to animals. To give you some perspective they even accounted for all the cockroaches after each take to ensure animal rights groups didn't protest.

If you look carefully at Joaquin Phoenix in the elevator fart scene, he is indeed trying not to laugh... And being successful, I must say.

Jwakeem Pheonix is notorious for being a stone faced killjoy devoid of personality. Hes terribly DULL in interviews and has no blooper reel footage. Natalie Portmans blooper is my favorite😂 Now SHE has personality!!
Also, in The Usual Suspects scene, the director kept teasing Benicio, telling him again again to "say the line again but in English this time" which kept cracking the guys up.

Actually, in the elevator scene you do see that one guy try not to laugh. The bad thing about Tommy Lee Jones, is that was kind of mean to crack a smile after shaking a real dog!
The reason the pug in MIB drew a smirk from Tommy Lee Jones, ACCORDING to Tommy Lee Jones, was that the shaking aroused the little (male) dog and something emerged off-camera.

No way he was shaking the pug that hard for real, maybe he was slowly moving him and the editors speed it up making it look more violent. Happens in some action movies, where an actor throws a punch VERY slowly, then makes it look like they really did punch.
