In 1994 Norm Duke gave an interview where he said “spares are for sissies”. Not sure if that counts as trash talking. I think it was the show where he shot 280 as top seed in Peoria and lost.

I seen this so many times. Weber didn’t want Belmonte’s towel to be on his side. They both STORM BOWLERS. Wearing the Storm jerseys. Who do he think he is? I am a towel hater. “I’m knocking!” Jason Couch to Patrick Allen with the “knocking on heavens door” Bob Dylan song taunting. That was epic! 🤦😂

Diaper Rash talking about integrity is rich. I still remember that telecast. He was beyond cringe when he tried to walk it back after he "won."

Funny thing is Rash has been throwing urethane a lot since then.

@@BrianGreenwood1352 even if that is the case, we all know that his timing was clearly a ploy to try to throw off his opponent's concentration.

Fuck Rash. Out of all the outbursts on TV and seen in match play this one took the cake.

It sounded like after Couch said "a real one!" Parke Bohn replied "Anybody can strike like that!" which is hilarious 😂

To me, there are two types of trash talk, one good, one bad. The first one is friendly fire, and the other is unsportsmanlike conduct. Glad to see you took my suggestions from the last video. They actually show the difference between the two. The example I suggested from the '07 GoRving Classic is an example of the good kind of trash talk, friendly fire. Couch and Bohn appeared to be good friends, and traded friendly blows to one another in the 4th frame of that match where Parker caught that break. The other example that I unintentionally suggested, Pete Weber and the 2012 US Open, is an example of the bad kind of trash talk, unsportsmanlike conduct. Personally, I believe Pete went too far. This telecast first aired when I was 8 years old, and even then I thought he went overboard. That's how you know something is unsportsmanlike, when an 8-year-old kid in 3rd grade thinks it's too much. If there were referees in bowling, I'm sure they probably would've thrown many penalty flags on Pete for unsportsmanlike conduct in that event alone. Hopefully, these examples help you differentiate the two types of trash talk.

The trash talking between Jason Couch and Brad Angelo may have either aged quite well or quite poorly, considering Brunswick Bowling acquired the Ebonite International family brand of bowling balls in 2019. (Couch, an Ebonite staffer, claimed his brand of bowling balls hit hard after his ball hit the 1-2 pocket a bit too high and left an 8-pin, leading to a clap back from Angelo, a Brunswick staffer at that time, who reminded Couch that the Brunswick balls actually strike.)

The older i get the more I respect these pro bowlers. Power, finesse, strategy, consistency all necessary to stay near the top. Not as easy as it may look. Mental toughness necessary like any other sport.

No, he probably made it up to piss his own self off. Great match though.

It seems like a kid closer to the foul line, maybe the kid in the black hoodie. I was by the rail on the first bleacher section and the kid in question I remember being further up the approach.

It had to be imaginary considering no one else seemed to know who he was talking about AND he literally says “that’s why I did it!”

That is a GREAT question. If he exists, Who is this Steve Bartman of bowling? It's the most famous outburst in bowling. The audience wasn't that big. The person should come forward or be tracked down. This mystery MUST BE SOLVED! There should be an award and a picture with Pete and said agitater. It brought Pete back to relevance and eyes to the sport. We need to know.

DeAngelo always thinks of himself as a tough guy, but the best was his mocking AJ Johnson for absolutely screaming his fool head off after striking against the pba50 team in the elite league. The most annoying trasher was Patrick "big mouth" Allen. He even kept it up after he won, which ain't cool folks it just aint.

There is a show around. 2003 I think it was Steve Hoskins Las TV show he's going up against Mike DeVaney. Mike starts out with a strike then says to Steve " got a lot more where that came from!"
I think Steve won the match at the end I remember Mike getting angry because he violated the clock going over and said to the tournament director or someone " that's fuckin crazy." Or something
Steve had an uncomfortable look sitting there.

If there was more trash talking in bowling there’d probably be more fights. I’ve seen a couple fights break out at my local bowling alley due to trash talking.

Yup. Bowling already has enough toxic masculinity to begin with, especially at the top level. It's cool to see someone pumped up and shouting cuz they're happy about doing well but ever since the early 2000s it's become weirdly common for dudes to be yelling like they're legit pissed after a strike.

You serious? That never happens where I'm at. And EVERYONE in my league talks trash. But none of us take it serious. Those who do and DO want to throw hands...they get blacklisted.
