The first time I saw Kevin Costner in a film was No Way Out. I turned to my two girlfriends and said "this guy is going to be the next, big, box office draw. And sure enough he was. Before that night I had never even heard of him. He blew me away with his performance and I became an immediate fan.
Corden : Does one small role in a musical : Speaks as if he's Costner equal in the acting business ... I think Costner showed a lot of class in this interview , a lot of patience too .
James Corden has played many roles. He's well known in England and I think we're lucky to have him here. He has won a Tony on Broadway. His experience is broader than you realize.
James Corden is a terrible interviewer and has no class. He’s crap at acting and not funny. Thanks for taking him off our hand. Yours faithfully, Britain
Those two are pretty well together aren’t they! Kevin has a voice, he has a strong and powerful voice. Kevin has a very broad voice, he is not an amateur! Go hear Kevin Costner and Modern West, if you don’t fall in love with them, you aren’t human! If there is a story to be told, Kevin Costner is the very best man to tell it! And he knows when something is or isn’t right, he won’t back down. How can one not respect and love this wonderful, hardworking, gorgeous man???
I think that Corden showed a side of himself that people might not have seen before. He was thoughtful, listened well and contributed where appropriate. However, I would love to see Costner with more seasoned actors discussing things in a deeper fashion. I would love to know what they think about how filming has changed etc.
Corden's always been that way, I think he gets stifled in a way with the quickness of the Late Late Show, but if you watch some of the stuff he's done back in England, he's a genuinely good, happy, and truly humble person, who legitimately gets excited at meeting celebrities and all that. That's one thing I really enjoy about him hosting the Late Late Show, cause I know underneath his more polished interviewing he's kind of freaking out inside at getting to meet all these American celebrities who probably seemed so far out of his reach when he was lesser known here in the U.S. just a few short years ago.
I'd have paired Costner with Stallone or Mel Gibson. They're known predominantly as actors but have also won Oscars for directing. They could talk for days and days
Rampage Clover Sylvester Stallone & Mel Gibson are far better actors & directors than Kevin Costner is, in fact, they’re on a totally different level, especially Mel Gibson.
Costner always has terrific insight into filmmaking and acting and especially just having a good work ethic. He's trying to share that here but he's continually interrupted by Corden who thinks he's hosting a segment of his talkshow. Ugh.
love both costner still as handsome as ever. i miss kostner in movies JAMES CORDON STOP DOUBTING YOURSELF MANIFEST by visualisuing how GREAT YOU ARE. Greg Braden, bruce lipton thoughts create reality.
How IN HEAVEN'S NAAAAAAAAAAAAME did Costner end up with Corden?? Aren't these Actors on Actors convos supposed to be between two of a similar calibre? Confused AF, Belfast
+GUGU E. Michaels I love Corden and my initial thought was the same as yours. However, then I realized we're assuming Kevin Costner didn't push this, which he might have. He may have talked to all of those people and wanted to talk to Corden instead.
Well paired, Kevin wouldn't have said yes otherwise, the Elder with the Junior is what he's stepped into, plus his yet to be achieved interest in acting in a musical makes this a poignant and touching conversation. Kevin, please play Arthur in "Camelot", bring full circle to your serendipitous chat with Richard Burton decades ago, Smile, xxx.
A beautiful man! A top artist. A being that radiates good energy and is full of ideas ... Magnificent, but normal ?! Natural! God's work and gift. To the joy of humanity💐🙏❤🌼🌹💚💙💜💗💖💐💥⚘
Easily noticeable...Costner was clearly annoyed with this pairing and it wouldn't surprise me if the segment was cut short bc of the lack of chemistry, etc.
How on earth does Gordon get to sit opposite Costner. I thought the idea was for 2 famous Film stars. Not One and a bloke that used to be in an average British TV series. I’m not having a go, he’s a brilliant tv interviewer, but he’s not a film star. 🤔
I don't know. This for me was like watching a titan talk to a mouse. Nothing against James but i would have paired Kevin fucking Costner with someone else.
What the fuck is James Corden doing in the same room.as an actor!!! He is the 21st Century equivalent of The Groom Of The Stool. I was going to see Oceans 8...but I won't now....
@ Musical Genius - So there is no celebrity or famous person that you have taken a dislike to then? Think hard. When you do think of someone - think again about the comment you left me.
I used to not like Costner. I found him boring and his movies dull. It shows how life and getting older and wiser can change one's mind. After I saw Open Range, everything changed in regards of me viewing Kevin. Now I love him and everything he's ever been in or will be in, even the Postman. He's a pleasure to watch and listen to. Hopefully one day Daniel Day-Lewis will have the same effect on Me.
Why would you pair great actors like Will Smith and Benecio del Toro, Sam L and Michael Keaton and freaking pair Corden with Kevin freaking Costner?? horrible pairing.
JFK was a fantastic film, dances with wolves was good also even though I thought that goodfellas should have won best picture, loved the untouchables aswel, Kevin gets a lot of stick saying that he is not a great actor, fair enough I wouldn't say he is up there with Daniel day lewis, Gary Oldman, Al Pacino ect. But he is certainly underated.
It’s like having Jack Whitehall sitting opposite Robert De Niro. Does anyone get what I’m saying. Jack is one of the funniest people on the Planet 🌎 but he’s not a Film Star. I feel he was called in because someone else cancelled or, he’s got the Best Agent in the fxxxing world. Lesbian Vampire Killers was his biggest film 🎥. I bought it on dvd 📀 and it’s not that good. Well I’m not sure as I only watched the first 10 minutes. 🤔
James Corden is a nice guy but they butchered "Into the Woods" (for those who saw the broadway show). It demanded better quality singers (in most instances) such as was the case on the broadway stage. Kevin Costner seems to me a great guy filled with passion for his family and his craft.
I cry everyday because the American people are all being robbed of everything I did for them by greedy overeaters that are murdering my family friends and anybody trying to make the world a better place. this is sadly true.
Kevin is one of the few celebrities that can converse with others without being a boor. He is interesting and a real man.
I love his movies. He's so cool and so Underrated. I use to hate him when I was in my Teens & 20s but after Open Range, it was pure Revelation
Kevin Costner is a class act. When an actor says they are willing to self-finance a project it proves he believes in his work!
Absolutely correct
He should be arrested for mental and psychological abuse for making Waterworld
Yet they paired him with Corden....
The first time I saw Kevin Costner in a film was No Way Out. I turned to my two girlfriends and said "this guy is going to be the next, big, box office draw. And sure enough he was. Before that night I had never even heard of him. He blew me away with his performance and I became an immediate fan.

You're forgetting his Oscar performance in "Lesbian Vampire Killers"
I've never liked him, he just reminds of that creepy chubby kid that always tried to be clever.
James Corden is a terrible interviewer and has no class. He’s crap at acting and not funny. Thanks for taking him off our hand. Yours faithfully, Britain
James Corden is a Tony award winning actor who has been acting for over a decade. Do your research before comment you donut.
Couldn't they find anyone better to talk to a legend like costner?
Those two are pretty well together aren’t they! Kevin has a voice, he has a strong and powerful voice. Kevin has a very broad voice, he is not an amateur! A year later and it is still Gorden. Geez...
3 years later still Gorden
Nearing on 5 years later....clearly nobody cares. Probably passive aggressive at this point.
@@TheProductiveMindsNetwork Writing this as we've survived the first year of the pandemic and 7 years later and it still says Gorden.
Gorden haha
9 years 🤣
Please, let’s have Costner back with someone in his league. Bad match
@Indy Atring It's all about who earns the most in that industry and James Gorden probably earns more than Kevin Costner at the moment
Be still my heart! Kevin Costner has still got it! And an amazing actor too
Ro2008sie Amazing actor is certainly a huge stretch.
So dang handsome❤️
@@2H2521 it's an understatement. You've expressed your hatred for Kevin costner in a few replies here now. Suck it up.
Kevin such a down to EARTH person! Great ACTOR!!
I think that Corden showed a side of himself that people might not have seen before. He was thoughtful, listened well and contributed where appropriate. Dances with wolves one of the best films ever made.
Yes. Such a journey!
Love Kevin Costner & James Gorden.
James talked too much about himself! Kevin is so polite! Love him’
Damn....Kevin Costner is sooo f%#^&'n handsome & sexy!! I ♥️ all his movies....he is a class act!!
as another man I can say...I love kevin costners style of clothes.
He's 62 but he looks like 50 years old
I'd have paired Costner with Stallone or Mel Gibson. They're known predominantly as actors but have also won Oscars for directing. They could talk for days and days
Rampage Clover Sylvester Stallone & Mel Gibson are far better actors & directors than Kevin Costner is, in fact, they’re on a totally different level, especially Mel Gibson.
@@2H2521 not true. When it comes to acting, Kevin Costner outdoes them both. Especially if you've seen Dances with wolves.
Costner drew the short straw judging by the other pairings in this series of videos.
CORDEN... it's CORDEN! Variety... please lets not be sloppy.
Amy O Loughlin good grief, Variety!
Costner always has terrific insight into filmmaking and acting and especially just having a good work ethic. He's trying to share that here but he's continually interrupted by Corden who thinks he's hosting a segment of his talkshow. Ugh.
Vdd
James Gordon is the Police Commissioner of Gotham. This is James Corden. I understand why you'd confuse the two.
love both costner still as handsome as ever. i miss kostner in movies
JAMES CORDON STOP DOUBTING YOURSELF MANIFEST by visualisuing how GREAT YOU ARE. Greg Braden, bruce lipton thoughts create reality.
change your video title, corden not gorden
Love the handsome Kevin Costner
Love Kevin Costner and James Corden.
How IN HEAVEN'S NAAAAAAAAAAAAME did Costner end up with Corden?? Aren't these Actors on Actors convos supposed to be between two of a similar calibre?
Confused AF,
Belfast
That's cool you guys were able to get Commissioner James Gordon from his busy schedule protecting the city of Gotham.
Missed opportunity to not team up Kevin Costner with Bob Odenkirk.
Who the fuck is James Gorden
Nothing against Corden but couldn't they've paired Costner with other mega stars of his caliber like Sean Penn, Bruce Willies, Tom Hanks or Brad Pit?
+GUGU E. Michaels I love Corden and my initial thought was the same as yours. However, then I realized we're assuming Kevin Costner didn't push this, which he might have. He may have talked to all of those people and wanted to talk to Corden instead.

I have seen so many hollywood film but i never like somebody so mush like kevin costner .he is very best and only one Hollywood Gold....
James , James do you have to interview him with your slippers on ??? hahahahahahaaha
You have to live under a rock to not know James Corden. He's amazing!!!

Kevin is thinking....who the fuck is this...?
Easily noticeable...Costner was clearly annoyed with this pairing and it wouldn't surprise me if the segment was cut short bc of the lack of chemistry, etc.
I loved him in Cats!
Great interviewed
pity to waste Costner on Corden
Great conversation
C does not equal G.
Great discussion.
Only bad thing is Variety not spelling James Corden's name right.
should've put costner with denzel washington... that's two actors who are playing in the same league
Kevin Costner and Dennis Quaid or Pierce Brosnan would have been interesting
How on earth does Gordon get to sit opposite Costner. I thought the idea was for 2 famous Film stars. Not One and a bloke that used to be in an average British TV series. I’m not having a go, he’s a brilliant tv interviewer, but he’s not a film star. 🤔
He's supposed to be interviewing Costner ..why does he keep bringing it back to himself ..ugh can't stand him.
These guys are as equal as BBQ Ribs and a Rotten Ronnies Cheeseburger
lol Looking at the thumbnail and video title a second ago, I thought, "I'm just gonna TRUST that it's James Corden..." :P
Nailin' it, Variety ;)
It's not Gorden it's Corden.
Who cares how he spells his name, still bows to the evil bloodline
I don't know. This for me was like watching a titan talk to a mouse. Nothing against James but i would have paired Kevin fucking Costner with someone else.
They uploaded this 4 years ago and nobody has been bothered to fix the title since. It's Corden, not Gorden.
Fun fact: if there are ANY dislikes on this video at all, it’s not because of Kevin.
I love that this video's title by Variety, 7 years later, still has James Corden listed as James Gorden. I think he should change his name to match :D
Also, I don’t who thought up this pairing but I like it
This is fucking big embarrassment this corden not fit to share the stage with Costner
James Gorden?

lo amo da impazzire lo adoro Kevin mio grande amore tiamo
They dont match
They couldn’t get a real actor to talk to Kevin so they settled for James. How sad
How about Pinocchio on Jay Leno video 😂
Very bad pairing and a waste of Costner's insight.
I would've liked Ralph Fiennes with him.
+Ayman B. Ralph Fiennes with Christoph Waltz is so much better tho.
Hector Berlioz true.
I thought the pairing was great, never would have thought Costner wanted to do a musical.
Costners' "insight" HAHAHAHA
Corden has more talent in his little finger than Kevin Costner has ever been able to muster his entire life.

The Cost is a legend. Should be paired with Gene Hackman. Or Chris Pratt.
Change it to Kevin Gostner please..... For fairness sake.
CHANGE IT
Gorden? Lol
I dont wanna sound like a dirt bag, but Costner deserved to be sitting across from a 'better' actor. Jeff Bridges, Tilda Swinton or someone.
Ma wonderful 😍🌟👣❤️
Why would you pair great actors like Will Smith and Benecio del Toro, Sam L and Michael Keaton and freaking pair Corden with Kevin freaking Costner?? horrible pairing.
What an odd match up 😂😂😂
Presented by Samsung: *doesn't have subtitles*
Variety, Change James Corden's name to CORDEN NOT Gorden already! It's been 2 years!
Can we please have Kevin Costner back in a better match? The goofiness of James does not wok & is not on Costner's level....ugh
Costner looks really peeved in the thumbnail, perhaps at being paired with Corden.
KC and JC (not G), nice chat, thanks

4 years with the wrong title
This guy tries to be cheeky to much.
What is Gorden doing here with Kevin Kostner?
Kevin Costner has aged very well... the hard, rugged look is appealing. The other guy, not so much; kind of annoying.
*Corden
Yeah wow weird match
Gorden? in spanish fat is Gordo...
Is everyone going to ignore the fact that @variety thinks this is James GORDEN and not James Corden. 🤦♂️
Corden!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

are we outraged that his last name begins with C?
