There is one thing I’ve learned in life in the last 38 years I’ve been alive bad things always happen when you least expect it and you always think what if I hadn’t done that or this but it doesn’t really matter what matters is the way you push through it and make yourself mentally stronger than before, it’s really true what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, and I know you will need time to build your confidence back but you really will be a stronger person from this in the future, you are a inspiration to me and others , take it easy and rest then when you are ready we will be waiting for your next chapter , wish you a speedy recovery
Thank you so much. Absolutely, I spent a lot of time questioning myself and what happened, wondering if I did this wrong, that wrong, had too much tyre pressure etc. More likely just bad luck.
@@JulietElliottsChannel Yeah often its just wrong place wrong time, or a rock or rut just gets you unexpectedly and its all over. 1 cm here or there and you'd have been fine. After my bad crash (6months of work etc) I now look back at it as a positive experience which now I'm thankful for. Sounds weird I know! But met new people and gave me a bit of a kick up the ar$e to get my life in order which was needed. Anyway all the best for your recovery! In a few months or so it'll all be in the rear view mirror :)
We, human beings, aren't always "guilty" of what happens to us. I've been here twice. Almost died twice in crashes I could not have anticipated either. I was really good on longboards, hence the second time it happened again. It is as if nature tried to tell me: stop what you are doing. Your mission is something different. Although I'm still recovering, lucky me came out stronger than ever. Feel almost 50 y younger now than when my last crash happened. Hope you recover well and soon. Thank you so much for showing the beautiful nature of La Palma. And the interesting ride. I noticed your downwards pointing handle bar. Luckily all living creatures have healing power built within. So you'll be fine if you listen well to what your body is telling you.
Sounds like a heavy wreck. So sorry to hear this news, may you heal up and recover from this quickly. Sending positive healing vibes your way, take your time getting well and we all anxiously await your return to the bike once you have recovered fully. 🍀❤️
Dear Juliet, I have been enjoying your cycling videos for years. So sorry to read about your crash. And then also having to spent by 12 days in a hospital, away from your home. I hope you recover completely and return to cycling.
I saw it on your insta, what an absolute bummer. I hope you are recovering well. Thanks for sharing what you had recorded up to that point anyway! Having been to La Palma decades ago by car, also around the Caldera and up to the observatories I was really curious about the cycling. So many thanks for the impression. Wishing you a good recovery, now at home, may the cat(s) speed your recovery. Always loving your content Juliet!
Oh, so sorry Juliet. Hope you haven’t hurt anything that won’t get fully better. Such a setback. Thank God you got rescued. Big Hugs and hope you are feeling better very soon.❤❤❤
Really sorry to see this Juliet, good that you're home now. I recently rode some of the Grangruanche route with a friend, who crashed and broke his hip in Gran Canaria. He was "only" in hospital for just under a week, but that felt like an eternity so I can imagine how difficult double that would have been. Hope you heal up fast
love La Palma, regular visitor, and have ridden a road bike up the volcano a few times. One of the greatest climbs anywhere...hope you are making a good recovery.. best wishes.
Gosh I’m so sorry Juliet, what a traumatic time you’ve been through. So glad you are home and safe and receiving lots of TLC and I wish you a full and complete recovery 🫶🏻❤️
I'm so sorry this happened to you, but you're super tough and I know you'll come back stronger than ever. Wishing you a speedy and restful recovery. We'll see you on the bike soon. :)
Oh my! Thanks the time for putting this together and sharing it during what must be a difficult time. I'm glad that you have a cat nurse! Get well soon!
So happy that you have finally made it home and are on the road to recovery, life seems to always throw curves or rough roads at us when we have so many fun things planned. Take good care of yourself, I hope your recovery goes smoothly and when you are ready to get out and explore the world again it will be waiting for you and so will your fans from around the world. Hugs ❤❤❤
I watched this with a sense of dread, knowing that you had had an accident. Glad you're now home and hopefully recovering well. Just hope that this doesn't interfere with your plans. Take care.. and see you on the next vid'
All the best wishes for your healing journey. I recall Katie bounced back from a big crash a year or so ago, you girls are strong and in no time you will be back doing what you love❤
Love your videos. Super glad you’re staying positive and will return to bike riding when you’re healed up and well; those places will still be there and waiting for you, same as I will. Cheers to a speedy recovery, listen to your body and take care. Perhaps now you’ll do those cat videos, we all want to see them. 😊❤
Sprry to hear about your crash, that sucks. I'm looking forward to watchig your recovery. I'm sure you will continue to be an inspiration as you get back on the bike.
Take care Juliet. Love your videos and stories. I am sure you will be better soon and return with your zappy energy. Happy that you’re ok. Must have been nasty for a 12 day hospital stay. 😘
Hi Juliet, sorry to hear about your accident and wishing you a speedy recovery, but please as has been said before, take your time to physically and mentally recover, we are all with you 😺x
Hi Juliet, love your mountain bike, just beautiful. I’m from Southern California, and started XC MTB racing in the 90’s in my thirties. Your Marin reminds me of the old days. Oh, no I was writing before I finished your video. I hope you recover quickly. I’m 68 and a couple of months ago, I was riding home on my road bike. I started up on a green light from red, and a car cut me off. I hit him, flipped, and dislocated my left shoulder and spent 4 days in the hospital, so I feel your pain. Three months later, still doing PT. Still hurts trying to get my range of motion back. I hope you recover quickly. Accidents happen in the blink of an eye. I feel sorry for your pain. 😢
Get well soon. Crashes are part of biking. Usually they aren’t this bad but there’s been quite a few high profile crashes this year and I just hope you all heal quickly.
Hope you get well soon. Well done for getting up to the top of La Palma as it's a long climb. I hiked round the caldera rim which is very spectacular (and easier!). Don't crash like that in Nepal though, health care not as good as Spain.
No Nepal for me, wasn’t meant to be there right now. One of the things I thought to myself whilst in hospital was ‘I’m glad this happened here, rather than there.’
Oh no! Not sure you’ll see my post among all the others but I love your channel. Really enjoy all your vids and wish you the best in your recovery. Take the time needed to fully recover. All of us have a back catalogue of your vids to go through until then! Godspeed!

12 days in the hospital?? Thank God you made it home alive. Rest and heal up and eat well. I got into a bike accident in the spring and had a broken collarbone. It was difficult to find good content on youtube about recovery. I think vlogging your recovery to getting back in the saddle could be useful.

The titanium bike I hired was in perfect condition even after the crash... but me... Not so much...
