      It is amazing once you get one and learn it. I recommend doing what I did and get a used Freebord, try it out for much cheaper, and if you love it, then buy the latest Freebord 5 or 5x (I use a 5x). 😁

    Watching this video was a game-changer for me…
    Freebording looked daunting until I found this channel.
    The way he effortlessly carves through twists and turns, balancing on the edge to control made it seem more approachable. Today’s video hyped me up to hit the pavement!

    I am a snowboarding instructor and this has always attracted me, because skateboarding slams at my 40's now are so painful lol, but I've never tried. At snowboarding, putting your weight on the nose means skidding, because you pivot on the nose and the rest of the board "brooms", to change the edge or to do the basic skidded turn. But for advanced carving you have to lock your weight on the tail to avoid skidding. My problem with freeboarding is that it seems impossible to carve if you want, because as I understood in the video, you skid even more if you put more weight on the tail foot. I've seen how the experienced riders do tight turns, but still, skidded.
    Anyway, it seems super fun and maybe I'll buy one when I can (I'm a snowboarding teacher, so a forever broke bastard lol).

    I myself have gotten quite proficient at using both riding styles, and am now trying to learn a tiny bit of freestyle. I just recently was able to hop over a 3 stair in my local park, and it was the scariest thing for me to do on a Freebord I've done in months! 😮

    • @easy_riders
      @easy_riders  6 месяцев назад +2

      That's a good number of stairs to clear!

      @@easy_riders Not really compared to what other people have done! There's literally a clip in this video of someone clearing a nine stair or something? It was a huge gap! 😲

    tbh feathering is pretty similar to snowboarding the way it was explained, when bombing hills on a snowboard simply staying perfectly flat is a very good way to lose control and accidentally trip over an edge, by lightly leaning on one edge and focusing on not tripping that edge you lose next to no speed and gain all the control
    the only difference is putting the weight on the tail gives you more control on snowboard (as in less skidding), not less, that's gotta be counter intuitive for snowboarders, but now that i think about it, you're working with friction on a freeboard not an edge, spreading your weight evenly means more friction

      What a dope take, always love to hear a more seasoned snowboarder perspective! I guess the change pf weight is just to initiate a slight change of direction.
      Will definitely keep this in mind next time I go snowboarding 👌

    Niiiicee!! One question, what type of bearing is best for the freebord? I have looked at mine and they are Abec 5, what number would be better? Thanks for the motivation! 🙌🙌

    • @easy_riders
      @easy_riders  6 месяцев назад

      I use mass produced bearings from China as I really havent found much difference. I like the ones with the black plastic casing! Abec 5 or above should do fine 👌
