This is about someone Rod knew .. song based on a true story .. and at time it came out , coming out or being a gay man or even talking about it wasnt the macho culture back then ... let alone Rod singing about a gay guy called george , that was a true story , and happened to be one of rods best but forgotton songs .. and a huge hit at the time .. abit like when Elvis decided to do .. In the getto ... sung about a taboo topic which really a white rich man couldnt understand or do it justice emotionaly , thought most, and at the time of race issues ... but people forgot, Elvis was actually from the getto ,he totally understood it .. Rods song is same in a way , brings unspoken topics to the masses .. talked about a taboo subject and life style .. but like Elvis ,, making the topic just what it is ,,,,, REALITY ...

Everything turned out great. And I too have thought that the point of the song is just be yourself, because time is always running out. Better enjoy life while you can. Anyway, my thinking brain isn't working so good but I hope I made sense.

He has written some fantastic songs but why do people only want to hear Maggie May, hot legs ,young turks and the likes.Ive seen him 6 times live in uk, Barcelona ans Las🎉 Vegas hes fantastic but he always sings the same old songs.I think once or twice he sings the odd cover song but with a repertoir like his I would love to hear some of his newer stuff.Not that I dont already have it but to listen to him singing his own stuff is fabulous.
