    I've used the water bricks ever since my disabled wife knocked over a stack of 5gal cans. With the uneven floor, try stacking 2 bricks side by side. The next level rotate 90deg and interlock the stacks like Lego blocks. With each addition level, rotate 90deg. This makes the stack very sturdy and difficult to knock over. For my wife, the stack I have now is sturdy enough for her to use as an emergency seat with no fear of it toppling... Great product.

      Thanks for the comment because I was going to ask if they could stack bottom east west and top north south like Lego blocks or like brick laying.

      I think that he was placing them upside down. Seems to me that they should sit on their flat side while having the 'nubs' sticking up. Otherwise they would sit on the nubs and stress the area around it.

    Thinking about Van living for 4 months out of the year and you’ve given me a great idea saving space for dog food. Thanks! As usual I love your videos and the fact that you give info and try the products. 👍🏻👍🏻

    Great video, but suggest explaining that they must be washed twice, once with dish soap and once with bleach, per Water Brick, BEFORE they are filled with drinking water and stored.

      Honestly I just bleached them out like I do any new water container, shook them around with the bleach water in them and then rinsed them out well. Water has been great in these after that. I try not to use dish soap in anything i am storing water in as its very hard to get it ALL out of the plastic container.

    I’ve used these for several years, even got a couple of food bricks and ammo bricks. They stack together really well.

    That they stack neatly is really excellent. I’ve been reluctant to get those big bladder things. Plus I’m an old weak lady. These look like a good solution. I have gallon jugs of frozen water in the freezers. Like the shower idea too.

    I love my water bricks! I have 16 of them (8 tan & 8 blue) stacked in two columns of eight. Never had any issues, and change the water out annually.

    Improved stability would be placing two side by side on the ground orientated in the same direction and than place the other two on top of the others at 90 degrees.
    Good review, thanks for sharing n' God bless

    I like these. I also like the 7 gallon cubes you get from like wal mart or other places. The ones that are available pretty much everywhere. I have several that I constantly refill so I never let the water get more than a few weeks old.

    At age 74, hopefully I am not leaving my home on a hill in the country. For water storage, I use 4 ea 275 gallon water totes in the garage and more plumbed into the 2 downspouts. Those on the outside can be used for watering the fruit crops or filtered thru the Big Berky.
    IF I am wrong, then I made a deal on a milsurp trailer to leave my home.

    use long zip ties from harbor freight or web shop banding. most times people show all their canned jars not realizing a shock wave will send all those jars to the floor. some minor carpentry for individual jar rack is needed. foam pad for bottoms keeps sweating jars from busting.

    Excellent, Excellent, Excellent review. Water storage should be at the top of every prepper's list. We have probably 25 cases (5 gallons each) of stored water in an outside shed. Also, about 5 years ago, we spent about 3K to have a hand pump installed on our well. If we lose power for an extended period of time, we're good to go with water. I still want to buy about 10 of these water bricks.

    It is good to leave the handles on the bricks. That way you always know where they are. It would be nice to see your way of keeping water fresh for long storage, and cleaning the new bricks to minimize bacteria, or other pollutants from contaminating the water over time. Really enjoy your videos, thanks for making them, and sharing.

    Cool system, a little bit expensive but in an appartement it's THE solution to save place. Just a question, do you put anything in your tap water when you store it in that kind of container?

    I prefer the water bricks because of the weight when full. 8.33 pounds X 3.5 gallons = 25 pounds.

    • @jtrourke667
      @jtrourke667 2 года назад

      As I understand it, a pint is a pound the world around. With that, the 3.5 x 8 = 28lbs. The empty can with top and handle is 2.5lbs. making just about 30lbs for a full can of water.

    i like em but i would have designed them with a smaller cap more near the bottom. that spigot won't do much good once half the water is gone.

    I have these and LOVE these for apartment living! They can be hidden all over!! Do you think I can fill one 1/2-2/3 way and keep it in the car in winter? It does get cold where I live and my fear is getting stuck on an icy road after an accident (and I’ve hit two deer the last 4 years so you never know about a car being not drivable while waiting for help or something). Something could also happen after cross country skiing or a snowstorm. I did this some last year, as far as storing 1 water brick in my car, but it was spring to summer. It did fine! Now it’s colder, but it stays freezing a few days or a week and then gets up past 32. Do you have thoughts on the bricks for cold water storage? Thanks!! I have the little mylar bags, (they hood like 1/2 cup of water) and I keep those insulated, but I’d like some more for peace of mind. I’m also conscious of disasters and train derailments. My family lives in and near East Palestine. I’m in the PNW. Clean water is always in the back of my mind now.

    These are really conveineint for storing. Do you have to treat them with bleach or anything? Or just leave them untreated? Thanks and great review.

    • @Iridium242
      @Iridium242  2 года назад +3

      I put a tiny bit of bleach in each one and rinsed them out just to be safe, but for this I am just gonna store tap water in them untreated and see how it goes.

    What is your opinion on the Rino brand water containers? They are cheaper, but are they worth it?

    • @jtrourke667
      @jtrourke667 2 года назад +1

      Checking the Reliance website, the only reference to stacking is "stackable when empty". WaterBirck can be stacked 8 high filled with water. Also, a full WaterBirck (3.5Gal) is 30lbs, the Rhino-Pak (5.5Gal) is 47lbs. In my case I needed the lighter containers to ensure my children can also carry the containers in an emergency.

    How many can be stacked?

    • @jtrourke667
      @jtrourke667 2 года назад +2

      The WaterBrick website recommends stacking no more than 4ft. high. This translates to 8 bricks.
