I went to Woodman's of Essex in Essex MA and a week later I went to Bigalows in Rockville Center NY. I am searching for another place and while watching this video I suddenly realized who was talking in the background and a tear came to my eye. R.I.P. Daddy Jack, you have brought so much joy to my life. The world lost an exceptional man that had a passion for food and cooking.
Looks great. Growing up we would dig razor clams on the Washington Coast at low tide. Did flour, egg wash and cracker crumbs fried at a very high heat with vegetable oil. Maybe 1-2 minutes per side. Nothing fancy but fresh in so good. The diggers on the razor clams are the Fillet Mignon of the clam. So flavorful Mix up some ketchup, horse radish and worchestershire together for the dipping sauce.. Brings back great memories. Thanks for posting.
LOVE Ipswich Clams! I fell in love with them when I was a kid; there was a little seafood joint called Blue Point Crab House In the Lower Northeast in Philly and they had fresh stuff brought in from as far away as New Orleans, and TONS of fresh Jersey Shore seafood! They sold 1/2 lb baskets of Ipswich Clams for about $2.00! Yum! Another nice video Jack!
Heard many fond memories from my father and relatives of the good times and nice to see young kinds still enjoying Conomo Point especially Ramsey! Jack
Reminds me of my days frying oysters and clams in Florida. I remember the buckets saying Ipswich, I didn’t know it was a town in mass. I miss that restaurant, the owner used to be a boat captain/ spear fisherman. But he knew other spear fishermen and helped finance their boat so we got great deals on grouper, snapper, lion fish, hog fish, Cobia, amberjack and the occasional barracuda lol. The restaurant/ other boat captain were even on a tv show named Catching Hell on the weather channel! Good memories man!
I absolutely adore fresh fried clams. I wish I was closer to you. Those look amazing.I love how they melt in your mouth not chewy like a rubberband. He obviously knows what he's doing. It's great you're helping promote your areas food and businesses 👍
My mom is an Ipswich native as was her dad. We lived there in the early 70s and visited often as I grew up. The Clam Box loomed large in my memory so in 2018, when I visited for the first time in 18 years, I patronized them 4 times during my 8 days there.
I live in Florida, but I’m from New England. My family takes me to the clam box in Quincy when I go home. The best seafood EVER! I’m over near dreaming of the Ipswich clams!
I knew this guy from Gloucester, MA who was a fisherman and year ago he took me clamming up in Ipswich on Essex bay. We dug for four hours and we only got one measly bucket of clams. I was so sore for a week. It is the hardest work. Worse than bricklaying lol
In my opinion, if you go a bit further in to NH or Maine you still get great fried seafood but can add some of the best Lobster rolls in the world. Plus, in the summer, fantastic ice cream stands. Only in New England.
So lucky, in my travels in and out of RI, I can stop at clam box, flo's, Tommy's clam shack, and at home in west Warwick can fry my own🤤, so blessed ,😢🙏, the volume I see everywhere I thought were shipped in frozen, but not👍
Just read about your heart surgery Jack, God bless you and get well soon . You and Emirrel must be twins for the love you have of food and friends Soon as I get my COVID-19 vaccination I’ll be up to see you and eat a few meals with you

Aww man this would be awesome. I just ate 20 perogys and a ring of sausage, 10 cabbage rolls, 2 hamburgers and a diet coke and 2 large fries and I got a ham sub to still eat. But I want pizza and those fried clams!

Hope you visited crane beach. I've been to a ton and so far the most beautiful beach I've seen in NE. With covid and working from home probably was there 20 times this year :)
He’s a good guy, but I might prefer to live in a van down by the river; or under a bridge; than do that all day for 43 years! And I’ve done good service/ at least they have good music going!
It’s a shame people were forced to suffer working with those face ornaments. Hopefully, someday history will tell the story of the tyranny and insanity which occurred.
