Since the beginning of this season, I've been waiting for the war to begin. Clearly, season 1 was the prologue of it, to explain to us everything which happened and lead them to have it. And these three episodes felt like everyone was on the starting blocks and it began to be even frustrating to not see anyone moving. But this episode showed that, with that wait, situation was progressing no matter what, with allies beginning the war by themselves, by forces moving and being close to fight, and that final discussion between Alicent and Rhaenyra showed that, even if they would want to stop it, there is no place for peace anymore.
Daemon's vision/hallucination, it was truly interesting : for sure for that premonition of where he's gonna die ; but also for that symbolic moment with Rhaenyra that he still represents as a kid in his subconscient, trying to repair her kid… When we also saw Rhaenyra saying goodbye to her real kids, sending them away, not knowing when/if she's gonna see them again. It hurts.

Toi aussi t'as loupé Diana à la taverne ? She's the chamber maid who Alicent sent on episode 8 last season. After giving her moon tea and silver. After Aegon ... She served Ulf's table and he tipped her. She was also shown serving Aegon (tout en retenant ses larmes la pauvre) But he didn't recognize her. Too busy teasing his squire and throwing peanuts at him.
J'aurais jamais cru qu'on la reverrez, mais cette série c'est une dinguerie.

I love that you are able to see how it really is too late. I see a lot of hate towards Alicent, and it saddens me a bit that the complexity of the situation is undermined.
Politically speaking, of course I consider myself team black and Rhaenyra should be the queen. But I understand Alicent soooo much... It doesn't justify her, but I do feel sympathy. She always tried to do the right thing, but her father manipulated her until it was too late... and the amount of misunderstandings and pain she has endured... Of course she is completely terrified and blinded by resentment. But deep down, she is not a bad person.

I think people would hate Alicent are the ones who are gonna love and justify all of the Targaryen's actions. But in war, you have two sides, and everyone has reasons to get involved, like to search for a compromise. But yes, here it was too late, and since way too long, and that conversation just served them to realize that : no Alicent is not gonna accept to give the throne to Rhaenyra, no Rhaenyra is not gonna accept to submit ; yes a son was killed on both sides, and on both sides we had attempts to kill someone higher made by other people, so it might happen again soon etc. Deep down, they are two good persons, just fighting for their families, their kids, their names. And also two old friends who didn't know that life would make them end like that.
