    What opened my eyes actually:
    A plate of Pav bhaji at a shop near my house(within 1 km dist) costs ₹100. The total cost when ordering on zomato: ₹215. WTF!!!!

    This is such a gem of a discussion. Normalising these topics which are mostly stigma is such a relief, and more so on the internet today. And the best part for me is where Radhika says "Freezing eggs is like an option in finance". Amazing analogy!!!
    Kudos to Shantanu and Radhika for doing this.

  • @somriverretreat
    @somriverretreat 10 месяцев назад +58

    Agree with Shantanu. At the lower end of society the wages have not moved. For eg a security guard gets about 12k and it has not moved in the last 5 years. This is because the supply of Labor at the lower end outweighs demand and the scope for wages moving up is very limited. This will be a serious problem as the situation is going to get worse

    • @princeofheaven19
      @princeofheaven19 10 месяцев назад +8

      In Hyderabad an average security guy makes about 20k in a decent society . Actually labor wages have increased but not the middle class kids.

    • @chikchuk1
      @chikchuk1 10 месяцев назад +4

      The best part is that the lower end of the society will again vote to keep the upper end in power. Vicious cycle.

    • @steamerSama
      @steamerSama 10 месяцев назад

      The sample itself is biased. For one tcs/ infosys that flourishes, ten companies go under and some CEOs do not even draw a salary, so those CEOs are not included. Second, the salary of a CEO is based on the performance of the company, i.e. it is loosely proportional to the market cap/ profits of the company. So it would go up when markets(which are performing quite well in india) are performing well. On the other hand employees usually do not have any stake in the company and so their salary would not go up as much

    • @steamerSama
      @steamerSama 10 месяцев назад

      Also, Infosys in 2000 had a head count of5000, today it is 3lacs

    These two should not be giving medical advice 🤣. The rise of Infertility these days is mainly due to poor lifestyle choices. Nature has created our body in such a way that we are ideal to conceive between the age of 22 to 28.
    After 30 women's fertility starts decreasing & after 35 is very difficult to conceive. This whole idea of freezing eggs & sperms may look advanced but it has its own set of major disadvantages. Just because you have your eggs & sperms stored for a later date, it doesn't naturally mean it works everytime. Fertilization failure is more than 60% & even if following fertilization, implantation of the zygote (fertilized product) has its fair share of failures. Also the body is aged beyond its natural & ideal capacity to get through the 9 months of pregnancy. People only highlight what's good to hear & not where things can go wrong. A great career without a strong family & children is practically useless.

    Shantanu, the habits of a lot of startups in India particularly was centered around the notion of easy cheap money which someone else would give without asking too much in return. How can I book that money is the goal. Not product or cash flow or profits.
    Second I think is the sheep mentality. Once a middle class kid is successful, every other parent would want their kids to follow that. And they not be cut for it.
    All this culminate into start up companies which look smart when talked or on paper but are hollow.

    People earning in crores and travelling in planes on regular basis and going overseas for vaccations and call themselves MIDDLE CLASS is a disrespect to the people who have dream about travelling in planes and going overseas , DONT call yourself middle class

    Rich oblidged people talking about their success 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
    Im not going to give any sympathy for physical disability and feminism.
    Please help people save tax, make honest money, tell us how the middle class can become like you, and say how you are creating jobs (share true facts).
    Your life is not important to us because you are that 1%.

      she is rich because she worked for it. There are hundred of thousands of ways to be rich. Don't kid yourself, you and I probably do not work hard as her and that is why we don't make as much. No need to be salty on others success

    • @AgreeWithKT
      @AgreeWithKT 10 месяцев назад

      @@steamerSama No one is being salty but read my comment again and see what I did not find in this podcast. Sure, not everyone works equally hard but again, does everyone need to work hard to earn a lot?
      No sympathy given to feminist like you. Keep streaming.

    • @steamerSama
      @steamerSama 10 месяцев назад

      @@AgreeWithKT you are 100% salty, you tone gives it away pretty easily. What's up with your entitlement when you bitch about a person and ask her something. and no need for your sympathy. as long as people bitch about privilege and whine about people making money and discredit their work by labels such as feminism and physical disabled quota(which you provide no proof for), people like you wont improve. Keep getting saltier

    Unless the BJP government brings minimum wage across the board, savings is gonna remain a pipe dream for an overwhelming majority of indians.
    Inflation is real. Religion is nice and all but at the end of the day thats not gonna put food on the table. People are used to the modern way of life.
    If everyone has a minimum wage, it ensures every Indian citizen a shot at leading a respectable lifestyle.

      Bjp will build temples bridges at 1 lakh crore and tax poor people as much as possible and take money from them to enter the premises as an entry ticket plus with security guards who would not miss to guide you to the location of parking and charge you money for that too . You will never see poor people sleeping on the road opposite the railway station in India to be removed ever and beggars at traffic signal .
