- When buying an imported motor that’s going to be thrashed in drifting/racing/aggressive driving, it’s always a good idea to replace all those 20+ year old rubber seals BEFORE the engine goes into the car. Danger Dan is all about saving future headaches, so he walks us through how to refresh your JDM motor for many more miles of thrashing.

Seeing Dan without hearing *Garage Garaaaage* means he's putting in the work for us. Thanks for doing so many shows Dan!
That's the damn truth, and this is why Dan is called the Peoples Champ!
Hoonigan Project Cars he the real MVP
Really digging your choice of music lately! Chill instrumental beats 👌
First day off from my shop in like 3 weeks and I'm spending my time watching other people in their shops
Ha, and that's how you know its going to be a killer day!
Now DangerDan owns the saturdays here! I love watching Dan working, you always learn something! 🔥🔥🔥
Nothing better than watching someone else work on a Saturday morning!
Wow dan is really putting all of his money on this build
He really is, Dan just wants to make sure he builds the S14 correct the first time... To many people skimp out the firs time around, and they end up spending 5x the amount they originally wanted.
@@HooniganProjectGarage give that man a raise, he's always in all the videos, fixes everything that Hert breaks lol and he's just a good dude.
@@HooniganProjectGarage y'all need to have an east coast bash preferably in Georgia lol
@@andrewbleazy Vinny is the true master of destruction, poor Hert just gets the blame for everything haha.
Dan definitely deserves a raise he has brought so much to Hoonigan, and teaches the masses awesome knowledge.
But he didn’t touch the head gaskets. Head studs. Cams.
Whatever you guys are paying Dan, it's not enough. Great seeing him working hard on so many different projects!
More performance companies need to sponsor Dan's build, you know it'll ultimately provide better content once his missile launches esp with the "Aint Care" mentality. #Garret #ToyoTires #Sparco #Koyo #Mishimoto #InjectorDynamics #Enjukuracing This guy has extensive prior experience in this arena with previous race teams and everything else he builds for Hoonigan. The universe needs to give back to this man for all the stuff he's made possible for Hoonigan to be where they are today. He's too humble so ill demand it for him
Yosh! Thanks for that message, the nice thing about this project is Dan is putting together all the components that he believes is going to best for his build, but also Dan is showing you guys the brands he knows and trust. We don't want to plug random companies because they give us stuff, we want this build to be true to what Dan believes in.
These videos are actually helpful cause I'm doing a automotive certification course and we don't get to work on engines like these
Also greetings from straya
That's awesome! See man, we are also trying to give you guys a free college education! "The Hoonigan School of Horsepower."
One day I'll build a burnout car for burnout kings to show you what ya taught me
Man I’m loving having Dan just in the shop working on his cars because you can see the extra care! Good job Dan the man keep it up
Love it when these guys are at the shops by themselves. Its nice to see actual, drama free, build videos. Keep up the great videos.
Dan has the best staff inspection series ever!
Dan’s staff inspection/garage garage episodes always have the sickest beats
DAN the man.. you need more people helping you. You do so much for Hoonigan . I see you more on the channel than anyone else.
This channel has been your guys' best idea in a long time. Dan's builds are some of the best quality content build videos on RUclips right now. Really looking forward to the new build-off show too, you guys nailed it with the non-dramatic, informative, "typical" build format
I think your video's are my favorite Hoonigan videos. Don't get me wrong, the whole crew is great, but these project cars and your overall super chill demeanor keep it laid back, even when you can't get any sleep.
DangerDan with the nicest and cleanest builds out of everyone at Hoonigan. The Knuckle Buster's BMW and now the 2JZ S14 240SX. I aspire to be as good a fabricator as Dan is, one day I'll have a drift car that's nice, one day. When I can afford it.
Glad to see others making thier own specialty tools. I made a cam gear holder a few days ago to hold the cam gear still to take out the bolt. With a grinder, welder, and saws-all you can do just about anything.
Hey Dan, thanks for taking the time to record all the sweet content for us. Means alot
I learn more from Dan than I do in college.... you are the man Dan!
The best part is Dan's not even charging you for the schooling. What a nice guy!
College = Learning crap that doesn’t help in the real world.
Dan the man just doing it all like clockwork. He's lowkey quickly becoming my favorite Hoon.
I am more exited about Dan building his own car his way than anything else on all 31 hoonigan channels.
That crank pulley info is something I needed, thank you dan! Had no idea, that's now on the parts list!
You lucky dog! I need a JZ in my life. I do got a 1uzfe going in one of my mk3's though. Got new seals and timing belt going in it next weekend and then its saving for the bellhousing, clutch kit, and the engine mounts. Got most of the wiring already sorted.
Man I love the UZ in my SC400
@@jblob5764 I love them and I've never even experienced a UZ powered car yet besides like a 2uz 4runner/tundra. I like them so much I am traveling another 6 hours one way to get another 1uz for my mk2 supra also this weekend. End goal is to have a 1uz mk3, 1jz mk3, and a 1uz mk2. Then find another s30 datsun to fix up. One car I severely regret selling.
I love watching dan the man going to work nd tearing stuff apart. I cant do it myself yet but watching this makes me want to do it even more!!😤 keep it up Dan.
You guys are on it with the comments these days... full time RUclips comment thumbs upper and responder, sweet job ha ha ha
Ha! We're telling you that we like to listen and we also really appreciate what you guys say. All of us have access to the channel so every now and then we like to jump in to see what you scumbags are all up too!
Hell yeah new Danpisode
Was so excited to see a jz build that I litterally stopped everything I was doing! Really want to build one of these today! Thanks for all the info
Awesome man! They are still affordable considering they are getting a little more difficult to get. The power and reliability that these engines can produce is worth every penny.
Awesome tech information for Andrew, the man knows his stuff
Dan honestly is Goat!
Dan is a pure person
Yup, Dan is a pure person who loves eating pizza and working on cars.
I haven’t heard the best things about SPEC clutches, but hopefully you’ll have no issues! And the push/pull type clutch is the way to go, so much nicer to the crankshaft 😜
Gonna make dan a trophy at work gonna have to do some research to get the address to send it to
The Donut Garage address is available and can be visited by the public when open. Look it up, because Dan deserves a trophy!
Thanks guys! I got something pretty cool in mind. All of you deserve awards. You’re all constantly Inspiring others to achieve their automotive goals. So many of us are living vicariously through you until we get our projects sorted. Keep it up! Much love from the Junkie California, AKA South Florida!
@@HooniganProjectGarage if he deliveres. Please show it in a video. Im interested now
Tested a couple ideas today! Coming together smoothly
@@DeShawnaldTrump wheres the trophy now
I used to work on caterpillar truck engines and they had some of those pipe style connectors with the o-rings on each end I used to use brake fluid on the seals and that would break down the o-ring and make it easier to pull apart
Clear some drawers in a tool cabinet, get some sheets of strong cardboard.
As you disassemble:
Draw the parts outline on a sheet of cardboard and write the name of the part on it. Then poke the bolts through the card in the right location on the silhouette.
Really helps with parts that have lots of different length bolts for no reason.
get well soon dam we need you back in peak form, the cars coming along cant wait to see it finished.
Nothing better then watching this after work.
Hope that you get better SOON Dan...😪
Thanks for sharing this video with us!
Take care,
🤓-Thomas
When all the parts are gathered. It's so much more fun to dig into an engine.
I love the fact that this is a real car build channel. Thanks for Droppin all kinds of knowledge on us. #DANDAMAN
You know what i have the same Pittsburgh tool set it's my favorite tool set to have at home or have to take somewhere to fix something very reliable and allows me to leave all my expensive Mac and Snap-on stuff at work
I see Danger Dan sama next to a 2JZ in thumbnail. I click. I like. I enjoy...
You're a very simple man Faiz and we appreciate that!
2JZGE LEGENDARY 🔥
only a 1500$ clutch haha ! that joker should last a couple seasons for sure .. spend the money and do it right the first time .. love how Dan is spreading knowledge and experience! keep setting the tone bro !!
My man Danger Dan, good ish!!! Keep going. Wanna see the final result
Allways cool to see DangerDan in Action!! so cool Dude!! All respect!
Best Channel right here.
This is so relaxing to watch, good stuff Dan.
Dan is the man! Im saving this video for my future 2jz swap for the car I dont have
That is one wobbly vice. Loving the vids yo.
Must be hard for dan to work on the on cars and record at the same time. Respect.
For anyone that works on cars and records themselves doing it knows a job that would take normally 15 minutes to do, now takes 45 minutes when you're trying to recording the process.
Man that 2j is much crustier than my old 1j I got. Good on you for getting it right!
The cars coming together quick. Cant wait too see him hert and vin banging doors
I have to say this was an excellent episode however the inclusion of mochi definitely made it even better ❤️
Get well soon Dan ✌️
Best ep of Lift Noise so far
i highly suggest gutting the AC pump and using it as an idler pulley because without that you will throw belts easily when drifting
or you can move the alternator to the ac position
without anything in that spot the forces pull in the ps pump causing it to flex which results in ps belt getting tossed
First off to answer your question. I'd put a 2JZ in a 2nd gen celica with supra flares ( I know you've seen this done ). My older brother used to drive a white automatic and I still loved it... Now picture this car, and loving it... Now picture this car is WHITE ( A time to kill reference ). I love the 80's,,, I love 2jz's. Eat me!!!!
Now #2... Danger Dan damn near loses a hand ( just a finger, but it rhymed ). This tough, athletic, gymnastic, sacktastic , hardass goes right back at it. Just for us. That's just special.
Here's to the Clint Eastwood of Hoonigan!!!!
If I had a freshly re-built 2jz I would love to see it in a 72' Chevy pick-up. That's my favorite🤘
This build is gonna be sick when this is done
100% This is one of those builds that's obtainable to anyone who looking to build a Simple, clean and reliable drift car.
Love the episodes with the man the myth the legend Mr dangerdan
What tool box is Dan using in this video? I am looking for a new one for work (mobile generator tech) and that looks like a perfect box!
When I see dan on the thumbnail it’s going to be a informal great episodes
You see something you like, and you click it! We appreciate your style.
Dan my man 🥰 Garage Garage. 🙌
Take a drink every time Dan says 'clean this up'
That sounds like a very dangerous game! Ha.
@ 8:00 Hert almost coming in clutch with breaking something. My man lol
Favourite thing going on a hoonigan at the moment, thinking about putting a 1jz in 2000$ e36
Hoonigan killing the content in 2019!
We're still looking to do a hell of alot more, so we hope you're ready!
Hoonigan Project Cars hell yeah I'm ready !! Can't damn wait 😂😂 need to do a UK tour soon guys !
Love the content dan🔥🔥
Appreciate it!
Dan is the man!!!!!
man why is the gain for the intro wayyy higher than the rest and still louder than any other video
Definitely go big single. It’s a must!
I'd been commented to Ron's IG post about some update on his JZX and I got a sneak peek, thanks Dan😂
Is Ron still holding back secrets?!
@@HooniganProjectGarage from behind his face....nope
Had my crank pulley decided that it didn't want to be in the car anymore... Definitely important to check on the JZs
Dan the man the myth the legend 🤘🤘
He's also known as the 2JZ Daddy!
Hell yeah brother! Can't wait to hear this thing making some jam!
Hope you feel better Dan!
THIS SHOULD JUST BE THE ONE MAN DAN SHOW...
All the music in the skits is perfect to get high to 👌
Hey Hoonigan Would of been nice to see how you did the time belt install/more tec talk please .Thanks
*DAN,HERT,VIN,WILL ROGIE AND CHAIRSLAYER NEED TO TANDEM TRAIN THE BURN YARD!*
Don't tease us with a good time...
Great Shredition! Thanks guys!
Right on Cekmore! Thanks for the message.
Stoked on the Dan series but curious as to where the vin staff inspection went 😫
Vin's S14 is pretty much finished, the Raptor is done, M3 is track ready... All Vin has left is his Lexus he building, which we will have a Staff inspection on that coming soon!
Hoonigan Project Cars we’d seen it shred but didn’t get much info on it after the bisi visit!
Excited to see it all though!
I second what Hert said. There will be a huge single turbo.
Ha! It's looking like it might be a 30 / 35 series Garrett.
Dude you need a Milwaukee M12 ratchet, it is god damn life changing for jobs like this
Given you've taken it all apart, perhaps get it on a stand and give the block a good clean and wash down and painting it? easier to spot leaks and looks good. I recommend Hammerite smooth blue :) and for coils, go for the R35 coil setup, they're reliable and can make serious power.
Awesome info SF! We will be looking at some of these options for next episode.
Dan: gently, not to much
Also Dan: *Shakes the fuel pump violently*
😂😂
I threw a belt once, I was passing another car, felt a judder in the steering wheel, then boom no steering, I let the car I was passing over take me again, because since I was on a bend going to the left, and my truck was pulling to the right, turned on my hazards, indicated and then let the car cross back over and onto the shoulder, I was about 100 mi. out from the nearest anything in NM, fun times.
Ha, thanks for the story Drog. We're bummed because you really didn't tell us how the story ended! Did you wall 100 miles, did you have a tow truck pick you up!!! Come on man, details...
@@HooniganProjectGarage Actually, I got towed back to Gallup, which I had passed quite a way back (closest garage), it was quite the wait for the tow, though there were many nice people that stopped and topped off the water gallon jugs we had (including the road crew that was out working the on coming lanes). We then spent the next 3 days there, waiting for the parts and our truck to be fixed.
Give this guy a raise! Saturday = DANgerday
I love, the fact that we love the same style of chill music Dan. :D May I suggest to you some ChilledCow?
ChilledCow or ChillieDogs, either one works!
Came for the burnouts, stayed for the characters.
More Dan working on his car!!!
Dan dan the 2j man!
Get well soon Dan!
sparkplugs looks solid
“When you lose PS on a JZ you should probably shut it off, you might not have a crank pully”
FeelsBad Rad Drift Supra literally just smashed a wall this weekend from exactly that 🤣🤣
I thought those indented dots in the timing belt pullies on the top two were supposed to line up with the block indacators to reinsurer top dead center.
Can't wait to see Dan shred the S14! Also what is the name of that intro song?
Hey what tool kit is that? I really like the storage box
Can't wait to see danger Dan rip 🤙🏾
