Mathilda Short Beanie/Hat Crochet In-depth Tutorial - Fun & Easy (from Leon the Professional)

  • 1. YARN (the one that I used in this video):
    • 100% cotton yarn, double-stranded fine weight yarn No.2 (I can't find the same color in thinker yarn, so i have to use double-strand of No.2 fine weight yarn. But if you can can use single yarn if it's No.3 Dk weight (and No.4 aran should work too)
    (Estimated 40-50g per hat)
At the end of the description, I have provided some reference links for you to make decision on yarn purchasing.
    2. SIZES
As I said, the Beanie that I've made in the video is in size M.
    • For a down size to XS/S: Down size your hook to 4.0 / 4.5mm, then work exactly as shown in the tutorial. Estimated head measurement for size:
    XS: 20 3/4 inches
    S: 21 1/8 inches
    • For an up size to L: Use 4.5mm hook and follow the pattern below:
Work the same as in the video until Round 14.
Rnd 15: *2sc in same stt, 1 sc in next 13 st, repeat from * until the end (you should have 90 st).
Rnd 16: *2sc in same stt, 1 sc in next 14 st, repeat from * until the end (you should have 96 st) .
Then work 6 Rnd of only Sc.
Then follow the video from Rnd 20.
    3. Want a LONGER hat?
I know this is a super short beanie. So in case you want it to be longer, just work some more Only-Sc round AFTER round 19 in the video.
The written pattern that I've planned & completed was added through out the video (so it's free ^^). However, in case someone needs a PDF to follow or print out, I will list the PDF on Etsy for sale (3$ only) and the link will be updated here soon.
If you like the video, don't forget to Like it and Subscribe to my channel. I will publish at least 2 videos a month (all crochet-related contents). Hope to see you then ♥♥♥

I made this hat using 3mm wool yarn (1 strand) with the same size crochet hook as her and it worked pretty well! My head is a little small so its not fitted but I can still adjust it so it doesn't look too crazy. I might give it another try and start sc at ten rows instead of twelve 🤔

If it's too short, you can keep adding rows. But if it's too tight, you should rip out until the top circle (crown) and make the circle wider (increase stitches) before moving on to make the side of hat💕✨✨

    • @ABoCStudio
      @ABoCStudio  5 месяцев назад +1

Hii, yes! You can add more rows to make it bigger but it’s gonna be a bit tricky (because in oder for the next part, the lace detail, to work you’ll need to have a whole numbers which are divided by 4 completely. In the video it’s 84 sts, so if bigger you’ll need a number like 88, 92, 96, ….. and so on)
The easier way to make the hat bigger but still following the same pattern as the video is using bigger hook and thicker yarn 💞
I’m so sorry about this late reply🥲
