    Currently attending UW as a freshman. Lemme tell you, seeing all the games in the student section of Husky Stadium this season has been an absolute blast, love the setting. Beautiful view, loud fans, excellent view of the field and what's going on, and the marching band being right next to us is really energizing. It's overall just an amazing experience I have to admit. I've actually even been sailgating, so I got ferried from a restaurant over to the Arizona game last month, lovely experience in its own right, and pretty much only possible at Husky Stadium since it's right up against the water.

      Difference between loudest stadium and loudest fans. UW, when rocking, has the roof on both sides to force the noise down. We just have an aging and absent fan base. MA and PA just can't do all these night games. The move to the B1G Ten West (oh dear God please!) should help the attendance and, in turn, the noise.

    I went to Husky Stadium for a Seahawks game in the 2000 season after the demolition of the Kingdome and while they were awaiting the completion of their new stadium. We rode a yacht from Lake Union out into Lake Washington, cruised by Bill Gates estate, and then returned to Lake Union to disembark for the game. Alcohol was not being served in the stadium so we binged before leaving the yacht, returned to the yacht at halftime to refuel, and then topped off our tanks before leaving. We needed the drinks since the high that day was about 39F and it rained and drizzled throughout the game. The Seahawks won over the Chargers on that day so we enjoyed it despite the weather.

      Having played at half of these stadiums, (I was a walk-on, turned starting D-Tackle for Utah, Clint Shepard #46 2014) I can confidently say putting Colorado at #2 beyond laughable and a complete joke. It belongs at #10 at best. And Stanfords stadium also belongs right in the same rank as Colorado. Maybe the perspective from down on the field is different than up in the stands, but Colorado's Stadium felt like a dull, old stadium that should belong alongside Utah States stadium, where my brother played. Also with Stanford, I was actually excited to play there, but it also was a huge let down that just felt like a rickety old dump of a stadium. I also may have some bias because Stanfords guest locker room was worse than my high schools locker room. And last thing, you guys are all correct. I tell people all the time, Rice Eccles is the loudest place I've ever played in. In fact, that year I got to play at my dream school throughout my whole life, Michigan. They have the largest stadium in America and 3rd largest in the world. There was 106,000 people at our game, and no lie whatsoever, Eccles was so much louder!! Only other stadium that may have been louder than Rice Eccles was a Tennessee Vols game that i got to go to when i was 17 maybe. That place can get LOUD!

It's where they hold the Mass Games, which are not games, it is a pageant portraying the history of North Korea since 1905. They do hold soccer tournaments there--the North Korean soccer team actually beat Italy in the 1966 World Cup held in London, and had a 2-0 lead on Brazil before losing 5-3. Keep in mind WSU has one of the best College football teams and is one of the most successful in recent history. We should finish in the top 6 of the Pac 12 and will win or get second in the Pac 12 for the next 20 years. Also Pullmans stadium will be ranked second in the Pac 12 next year so we do not mind being last this year. I would put the Rose Bowl over the Coliseum. One because its usually a little cooler in Pasadena than LA proper. Two the Rose Bowl has a great view of the mountains near the stadium. Three you get to tailgate ona golf course though USC is also great cause its a wet campus so thats tie too. But Oregon is the best, huck the fuskies.

    You have the date for Stanford Stadium as 1921. Is that correct? It was definitely renovated recently, but perhaps it is on the same site, so maybe the date stands. (I think the renovation was extensive, though, perhaps a complete tear-down. Does anyone out there know?

    • @bp2608
      @bp2608 Год назад

      Yes, the renovation was actually a tear down and rebuild. The columns behind one end zone are left from the original much larger stadium as a reminder/homage. I forget the year or renovation. But the original stadium in 1921 was like 60,000 and then they kept adding on to about 88,000 official capacity. It had a track around the field, which put seats way far away. I remember in 1970 Stanford hosted USC and the announced crowd was like 92,000 but when I look at the Stanford website they don't seem to recognize that as their largest home crowd. Current capacity is like 44,000.

    Stanford Stadium is my least favorite if anything because it feels uninspired, and boring as hell with surprisingly bad sight lines. Not to mention crap gameday atmosphere because they have like no fans. It feels very plastic and fake with no real soul like all the others.
    Berkeley's has the best views as you can see the whole Bay Area and a hill you can watch games from for free (as does Sun Devil stadium kinda almost) the LA stadiums have terribly shallow sightlines so if anyone is standing up in front of you it's hard to see anything, but they do feel historic. Martin stadium is small but mighty... fans there are absolutely mental as with the rest of the PNW unis. Autzen is a great stadium but UofO is more like an athletics dept that dabbles in tertiary education and it shows... it had a lot more soul 15-20 years ago.
