What do you think of wearing your hair in a bun for 3 months as a protective hairstyle? I was thinking about doing that as opposed to braids because my hair would be much easier to take down. Please give me your feedback?

If your aim of putting your hair in a protective style is to reduce the rate at which you manipulate your hair and retain length then I don’t think bun is a great idea. Because you will constantly style it to keep it neat and during wash days you will have to take the whole hair down and manipulate. But in braids and twists you can wash and deep condition without taking them down. Hope this helps?

@@GbeyiwaFaith Good point . But actually I'm wearing the same bun for 3 months
I sleep in a satin scarf to keep it neat. I added accessories to it to make it look nice. I spray it every night with a refresher. And I oil my scalp every other night. This is going on my second month without taking it down. Do you think this is a good protective hairstyle?
