I bought a Cat Stevens greatest hits on tape in 1990, 15th October to be exact that has this track on it. The day I bought it I was sitting in my bedroom at the age of 20 writing an essay for an accounting degree listening to it when my dad and best friend had a massive heart attack in our garden. I went out but it was too late, he passed right there on the path as I watched. It was the single worst moment of my life and since that time this song has provoked so many reactions in me - I both love it and fear it, if such a thing is possible. 23 years later, to the day, 15th October 2013, my only child and son Peter (named after my dad) was born. I am 50 now and he is 7, I share this song with him, I tell him what it means to me. He tells me he wishes he could have met his opa, its something we share together.
