😊 love Halloween. The weather was favorable so we got a lot of trick or treaters. They were adorable. I have more Halloween fabric in my stash than any other. That’s a cute turkey pattern.
I love the Day of the Dead celebration. Spent so many years in Texas that it was just a part of who we were. I still like to have all the memories out and light a candle for those that have gone before us. I wish I had watched this video last year. I made the Turkey Trot pattern and I guess I never looked at the size of it and after it was done it feels more like and wall hanging than a table topper. I love it but it's Big. Love the Halloween picture
Hi Holly, I really enjoyed this box. The fabric is really nice. I wouldn’t make the runner but I’d sure find a use for the fabric. Feel good my friend. I’m always happy to see your smiling face. I’m off to a quilt retreat on Wednesday. I will miss Fiona, but I need the time to quilt in peace. XOXO Carol from down the road
Day of the Dead this year is Nov 1 and Nov 2 Paris my great is 1/2 Hispanic. Good box, motions turned out nice. For some strange reason I thought you had knitted them on the inside. My brain!! 😂😂😂 Awesome pic of your grands. River looks so Happy. She is a very lucky girl to have a big brother and sister who play with her all the time. 🥰 Holly ♥️🤗
LOVE that box and the fabric. I first saw it in as the FQ bundle in Open Gates box and ordered a little more of it. But I hadnt seen the whole thing. Definitely making something of it next year. Turkey trot patter is pretty cute!
We do not celebrate Halloween. This box of the uncommon thread is a good one, I like the fabric and the pattern, let's not forget the good pen. 4/5 We had a busy week-end though and are blessed with a new Grandson. All are doing well.
Ohh, Holly! What a sweet picture of your precious grands! Adorable ❤️This is a great box! I vote 5! Loved it all so much and your sweet mittens! Hugs and love to you and sweet Dandelion ❤
Good morning! Halloween was *amazing* this year. I could take up your whole page talking about it, but the teal deer version is we had about 400 or so trick-or-treaters of all ages, tons of fun seeing all the costumes, & lots of nice comments about the yard haunt. Also we had about 4 dozen animal-nose masks, & Mr O delighted the 6-9 year olds by presenting one to them & saying, "I picked your nose for you." Kids and booger jokes, what can I say? How very sweet and loving of Santa to include your mother in her memorial shrine! It's no wonder you were touched to the point of tears. Thank you for sharing the story with us; it was a real feel-good moment on this chilly morning. Nice notions in the box this time. The glue pen looks like it would be more precise then a full-sized glue stick, very handy. I like that the ruler uses the pale blue instead of yellow; for some reason I just can't see the fabric edge through the usual yellow markings. Obviously I don't know if the blue would be easier, however I can see the color changes in your table through it which is encouraging. The pattern is such fun! It's a bit long for even my biggest table, however I'd probably make it anyway. Maybe I could decorate the end of the bed with it, LOL. The charm pack lives up to its name - those are indeed some charming fabrics! The turkeys & the gathering bittersweet ones are the best of the bunch. Well done, Common Thread!
I love the mittens you made! Maybe you could film making them the next time you make them. The fabric is cute. I'd probably do a different pattern to showcase the fabric. I'd give this box a 4. I love your moment of zen. It made me smile❤
I recently made a few placemats out of a charm pack. Those would make a super cute table runner or placemats! Also would love a tutorial on mitten making!
Great mittens! I too love that fabric. Could you mention the line please? The grandkids are adorable and be happy they're in your life. No sadness for those who are departed but keep those happy memories close to you. Happy Holidays 🦃☃️
My daughter is marriage to a third generation American from Mexican heritage. She has set up an altar honoring those who have passed in both families. Several years ago I found a really darling picture of my parents just after they were married. My mom is sitting on my dad’s lap. It’s a black-and-white shot and it’s really a blast from the past with styles, etc. Well, in my daughters day of the dead shrine, smack dab in the middle, is an enlargement of that very photograph. ❤
i am in love with the gathering bittersweet line! not sure i would make the turkeys from it. i have gathered up some of that material also to make it into a pattern from an open gate box 😆. i know i am boxing up my fall and christmas kits since i have a major project i have to get done for christmas. maybe i will grab a couple of winter things then i am jumping into ( can’t believe it) spring!
One Turkey might make a good pillow. Cute pattern. Not my taste in fabric, but it works well with the pattern. I remember lots of bittersweet in the 70s for some reason. My parents also collected and displayed it then. I wish we had fall. It feels like we went from summer to winter here in Minnesota-we missed the best temps! Beautiful pic of the grands!❤
Holly, I would consider the fabric not only Fall but for Thanksgiving because of the pumpkins and turkeys. Loved that pattern. The turkeys were adorabke. Oh my goodness, those wide levis Cambria is wearing takes me back to the 70s. Did anyone wear Hash levis. They fit real snug and flared out at your hips.
I totally wore Hash Levis! Cambria is actually wearing giant sweatpants which seem to be the fashion choice of her generation. I watch them walk into school and they all look homeless. No judgement, though. I'll take sweatpants over the low on the hips jeans of the 80s.
Love the pattern, and that they included the background. The charms will be perfect. Your mittens are adorable. Could you share the pattern? Haven’t worn my wool mittens yet this fall but it is getting colder. Blustery in MN today!
Good morning Holly!! ☕️🤗 I understand seeing your Mother’s picture was breathtaking, I hope they also brought a beautiful memory. ♥️ Your mittens, they look so comfy and I hope if/when you make more you give us a little class! ; ) The fabric is SO cute!!! And the project is really sweet! Good one! Thank you for sharing the grands with us, beautiful kiddos!!
Holly, seriously great zen! Grands are Awesome. I missed the name of that fabric line. I LOVED it!!! You left something pink in your box. Have a groovy Monday ❤
"The Tree! The Tree!" Which M&M's does Tatu from Fantasy Island eat? "De Plain, De Plain!" Holly! The mittens are adorbs! What batting do you use or do you use that insul-brite stuff so they stay warm? My hands get cold in regular gloves, even if they are knit. The Sewline glue pen is good - I like when the glue is an easy color to see when doing FPP or anything that needs a dab of glue. I just bought that pattern! Seriously! I bought it for Leana, The Pastry Queen's Farm Adventures because I thought it was long legged chickens. Dave couldn't stop laughing when I showed him the pattern and said, "Look! I got Leana a long-legged chicken pattern! Don't you think it's hysterical?' He said, "Yes, because it's turkeys." No wonder those chickens look so weird. Cute pattern! What was the pink thing left in the box? Nice charm pack! This was a really good box. I liked everything in it - oh, what about doing a tutorial on the pattern?
Hello Holly, looking lovely as always!! I'm sorry I'm behind on watching videos, took time away from social media, now I have to catch up. Your mittens are so adorable! The Common Thread book is nice. WOW the grandbabies are so cute and River is getting so big. Sending many hugs. Thank you for sharing, until next time.....
Holly. Your grands are sooo precious. Thank you for sharing! Love your mittens. It’s soo frustrating when things aren’t turning out. Happy you stuck to your guns and finished those! That was a great box! Love the fabric and pattern. Soo cute!!!😊
Yes and I’ve always understood back in the day it was a benefit for farmers/family’s to have time to tend to the crops before the harsh winter set in. Unfortunately nowadays I think it’s of no benefit🙃 ❤️😀
Oh Holly, I know the pain it can bring seeing pictures of our departed loved ones. It breaks the heart all over. Love the mittens! Might I request a tutorial???? Aside from those nasty squiggles, I loved this box!!! Hope you have a great Monday! xo
The mittens were cute. And loved the Box my husband collected chickens, so I would make the chicken runner in a heartbeat. I have pictures of my most cherished departed loved ones on my bookcases. With little momentos from their lives.
We do celebrate Halloween and I love it we hard around 800 trick or treaters! It is so exciting to see all the little dressed up! Our neighborhood hands out wristbands for the neighborhood kids so they can receive a full sized candy bar. The others get snack size bars!we do get cans and trucks dropping off 15-20 kids for their treats! Our neighbors go all out with elaborate outside decor. One house even sets up a Haunted House to go through! It’s so much fun sitting on the driveway with the fire pit greeting the trick or treaters! Of course, every year I make a huge pot of chili! I just enjoy it so much!❤ I have to say I love this fabric and always enjoy a good pen! I love when you get so excited about the fabric!❤
I want to go to your house, Laura, we had zero trick-or-treaters this year. Same as the last two years. It’s so discouraging. I’d love to get in my car and drive to another neighborhood where lots of little ones are running around in their costumes, shrinking with glee the largest they’ve been snagging it all the wonderfully decorated homes. But I’m afraid I get arrested as a peeping Thomasina, or something, lol. weirdly, I was disappointed there were no smashed pumpkins and candy. Wrappers littering our local streets. I know, weird.
@@marlenehinton5749 I always go on a morning walk I usually walk 4-5 miles. I took a trash bag with me and did pick up candy wrappers on the way. It’s weird because when I was a child we weren’t allowed to eat candy until our parents searched through it. Sometimes I wonder if they were just looking for their favorite candy to grab?!😀 Anyway they claimed that it was to be sure there wasn’t anything bad in the bag. There were homes that gave out caramel apples and popcorn when I was young. As long as we knew the family we were allowed to have them. I will say it is always fun to see the littles all dressed up!🥰
@@LauraSup When I was done trick or treating we took my bag to the local hospital and waited in line to have the candy put through the X-ray machine to be sure there were no razor blades or nails inside. Then we would pack up a big Folgers coffee can with candy and send to my brother in Vietnam. Those were dark days.
@ oh my goodness! Holly, I believe that our local hospitals did the same thing! That time was very dark for sure! I thank your brother and your family for their service to our country! I’m not try to be political and if I am please delete my comment! I believe we need a day every month to show our appreciation for our veterans and active service members! Once a year doesn’t seem like nearly enough for the sacrifices that were and are made for this nation by them!🥰
Hi Holly, I'm surprised how much I liked this box. The fabric is not what I would pick, but this was kind of cute, loved the Turkey table topper. The mittens were really cool, are you going to show us how you made them? I give this box a 4.5

Super cool for a fall quilt and throw in some fall recipe or pumpkin pie fabric…..
Beautiful fabric😊

Love your mittens!! This was an excellent fall box. Thank you.
Very cute fabric. Love fall colors.
Super cute fabric. Beautiful Grandchildren 😊
I liked the fabric also. There seems to be something pink still in the box so be sure to check it out. Hate the little bits of paper.

It's the rubber end of a seam ripper.

Holly, please remind me where you got your Christmas tree? I just adore it.
I got it last year at Michaels.
