She is THE GREATEST DIVA in this part of the world!
People might say is Mariah , Whitney or Celine but Regine is way better …
That is one of Regine’s trademarks. She would hit some high notes towards the end, making people think that’s already the climax, because it’s already high and powerful, and then she would surprise you with an ever higher note to finish it off. Of course it used to always get people speechless, but after a while, we already know she’s going to hit a higher note in the end, hihihi. But we never get tired of it. Regine’s singing is something to be known and recognized and enjoyed around the world. Thanks to the internet and these reactors, more people outside the Philippines now know Regine. Too bad she’s already way past her prime. She’s still killing it though.
Currently She's in her beautiful home preparing for her Freedom concert this Feb 28. She continues to inspire new singers her in PH and that's one of her primary focus.. she said on her latest interview that her voice is not as perfect as to compare before but the cracks and imperfections tells a lot of stories, she's 51 now but still very humble and inspirational! She's a legend indeed. Thank you to our Rarest gem, our Songbird. Ms Regine wooohh!

I am a fan of her since the '80s when she was in a talent competition. She was only 14 then. The father used to train her in a river or ocean. She would do vocalization while she's submerged up to her neck. I think that's how she developed a powerful lungs to reach and maintain those high notes.

I've never heard of this lady, but it's impressive, even if the audio quality is poor!
I remember watching "Yentl" in the cinema in 1984 (the movie is from '83, but at this time it took a while 'til US-movies came to europe) and this song is the big epic finale and you fly away with Barbra Streisands voice..! You really should watch this movie, the music and lyrics are great, the performances are beautiful, and Streisand also directed it! It was Oscar-worthy, for my opinion, and it's still a shame that the academy hasn't even nominated her for best director!

This is how I felt first time I heard this masterpiece by Streisand, check her version out.. From the film.. Yentl.. Its a musical.. It has the most amazing music and songs written by Streisand but her Piece Of Sky version on the boat(one take vocal and belt) is, so powerful vocally and visually.. See the film or the film version!! of this! And you will understand this more... The song encapsulates and varies another masterpiece in the film which Regine also does called Papa Can You Hear Me?

Regine tried releasing albums in Asia but she felt bad on the discrimination while promoting them. Most of interviews then didn't want her to mention she is a Filipina. Also, she was about to be trained in London for theater but she refused because she was scared of getting far from family and country.
