What is the women doing with that neon yellow and green pick. Is she making knots at the end of your hair and what does it do?? I just started my loc journey and my mom just did coils and nothing else so should I do that too???
Hey, she’s interlocking my hair with the crochet needle. It’s one method of starting your locs and no you don’t need to do it that way, comb coils are perfectly fine.
So it depends on the type of parting method used, that determines how big the locs will be and how many you’ll initially have. If you have a high top like me then you can grow out the sides and start the locking process which will give you more locs. But generally you will gain and lose locs over time as some of your new growth will part ways and become their own locs, while some of your mature locs may congo together making you lose locs
@@MotivatedByE well my locs are about the same size as yours not all of them but most of them and there long but idk if i should be concerned abt how many ill have in the end like maybe i have alot but it dont seem like it bc theres long and short ones so should i just wait till they thicken or will i gain more overtime?
I wouldn’t be too concerned because they will thicken up as you wash your hair and as your Loctiatian retwist your hair, they’ll normally add any new growth to the individual locs. But if you still feel that it might not be enough for that full-head of locs that you may be going for, then it’s never to late to start it over, detangle and part your hair into the number of locs you want. I say that because you want to be happy enjoying the growth of your hair, I wouldn’t want you slightly doubting the process each month. Stick to what will make you happy and defo contact your Loctiatian to see what they can do first.
@@MotivatedByE thanks i have one more question when should i see budding? im currently 1 week into locs and iv seen it take about 1 or 2 months is that correct

I love the growth but not liking the retwist. I’m not hating it’s just my opinion.
