Glass Joe is more of a winner than people believe he is, even after 99 consecutive loses he still keeps going in the hopes that one day he'll win at least another match, if you ask me that's a true winner attitude right there.
Well in the nes version he wanted to retire but in this version Nintendo mixed his attitude with Gabby Jay from Super Punch Out so yeah he's still a winner.
The lore of the game is that one day, Glass Joe got punched in the head and finally snapped. Inside his mind, he loses his timid nature and goes on a montage of beatings, suddenly learning all the moves of the fighters who have taken him down, even Little Mac's Star Punch. Now it's up to you, Mac, to climb to the top once again and knock some sense into Joe!... Oh and there's like 4 new fighters. Have fun!
Glass Joe. People think of him as a weakling and a coward, like Luigi. However, what they don't realize is that he is the bravest and most optimistic character in the Nintendo franchise, because even though he has lost so many matches, he has still managed to get 1 KO, and he has lived through that all his life.
Realistically, he'd beat the shit out of most other people on the planet. At least in the ring. Don't diss my man Glass Joe. He'll revolutionize your spine
I find it funny that, despite glass joe being a French stereotype, he is the opposite of a key part of that stereotype: an easy surrender. Glass joe, despite being the players first opponent, rarely gives himself to a K.O, and has attempted 100 bouts before you. He is an example of the spirit of boxing, and on his own way, worthy of praise.
As a native, the thing I find most hilarious about him is that despite being the weakling par excellence, he never did surrender a single match in his entire career. Heh.
Goddamn I love Glass Joe. Even the first time I ever played Punch Out Wii, I still beat Glass Joe without even knowing what the hell I was doing. My brother just handed me the controller and said "Move the Wii Remote and Nunchuck foward to punch." But hey, that's what makes him so entertaining. Glass Joe puts a smile on my face every time.
Gotta love Joe's determination, 99-1 and the win was by accident.... He is the strongest fighter imo not so much in strength but in courage and determination!
@israelmcclain8097 although you can nail him for his title defense. He wears headgear, and boxing states that both boxers *have* to have head gear, so you can nail him for that, un less you get 100 losses and are able to wear the headgear too.
The Gamer Of The Intarnetz Fun Fact: It's obvious Fun Fact: Shigeru Miyamoto created Glass Joe, but didn't intend to enforce the stereotype that French were weak until a board designer brought it to his attention.
You gotta give the guy credit, he absolutely refuses to quit. He has to know full and well by now just how terrible he is, but that simply wont deter him from trying over and over and over again, cause eventually Joe knows he'll win
Glass Joe could probably be an actual threat if he took boxing more seriously. The amount of times he can get back up in a match is ridiculous. The guy says his dream is to become world champ someday… even though someday came a long, long time ago. He basically admits that he pretty much lives off of coffee and bread, his favourite foods. The best part? he’s not boxing because he enjoys it as a sport. He’s not doing it because of the addicting adrenaline rush. He’s doing it to impress girls (at least according to a promo comic). That explains his “Vivé la France!” showboating. Hey, everyone needs something to keep them motivated.
@Ysumbruh0 they all would to some extent but Joe either seriously slacks or he is training entirely on cardio/stamina and never anything for actual boxing form or technique, or strength

The theme that plays during Glass Joe's match has such a nice, down-to-earth flavor. Then he met a man named Gabby Jay, and made him his apprentice. The rest...is history...

Did you know that Glass Joe's one KO was against Nick Bruiser after a freak accident happened where Nick Bruiser had to go into retirement the injury was so bad. The more you know!
Glass Joe, in my opinion, is the strongest fighter. Sure, he may have 99 losses in a row, but that’s the thing; he’s held on for 100 fights and hasn’t lost a bit of spirit. Also, his only victory was against Rick Bruiser, who was the world’s best boxer for a time.
Listen to the fight theme and compare its casual and easy going nature to the intensity of Mr Sandman's fight theme. It really shows how far little mac gets from his humble beginnings.
An frail boxer from France. Known by the WVBA for his losses. With an jaw frail as glass. But within that man, a heart of gold Even after loss after loss, year after year, he still tries. The unbeatable, Unwinnable; Glass Joe.

This sounds like a song you'd hear faintly in the background of a Gmod funny moments video.
It's awesome how you can appreciate the base and chords by simply hitting pause.
dat Intro.... "Dari Sabang sampai merauke.... berjajar pulau-pulau"!!!!
This theme is a good song when your walking around and exploring Italy.
+Cailen Mays Except Glass Joe is French, LOL
+Cailen Mays Glass Joe's real theme is his country's national anthem

Did you know that Glass Joe's one KO was against Nick Bruiser after a freak accident happened where Nick Bruiser had to go into retirement the injury was so bad. The more you know!
Glass Joe, in my opinion, is the strongest fighter. Sure, he may have 99 losses in a row, but that’s the thing; he’s held on for 100 fights and hasn’t lost a bit of spirit. Also, his only victory was against Rick Bruiser, who was the world’s best boxer for a time.

Nick Bruiser
But it was Nick Bruiser? Why are you telling them to shut up when they are just trying to correct you?
@@fl00dlight4rea3 "shut" is a meme. You know, that image with a hand emote and a goose; so he was being light-hearted
He’s got a glass jaw, but his determination is is as hard as Diamond
Listen to the fight theme and compare its casual and easy going nature to the intensity of Mr Sandman's fight theme. It really shows how far little mac gets from his humble beginnings.
I want this as my cycling theme through Kalos.
An frail boxer from France.
Known by the WVBA for his losses.
With an jaw frail as glass.
But within that man, a heart of gold
Even after loss after loss,
year after year,
he still tries.
The unbeatable, Unwinnable;
Glass Joe.
Bonjour! Hello!
My name is Glass Joe
I'm ze toughest French boxer zat you're ever gonna know
I'll score a TKO then drink a fine Bordeaux
And flatten all my opponents like croissant dough
fun fact if you completed world circuit abd go to the exhibitation the fighters looks like they are in the world circuit
Little Mac: ya ni modo no quiero seguir con 3 derrotas no sirvo para esto

Glass Joe is a real role model if you think about it. If you think about giving up think of Glass Joe.
I lost to him but the win counter didnt go up. It's like Nintendo doesnt want him to gain a win. EVER.
If this is Glass Joe, then I'm fuckin' Paper Joe.
I wish i have as much dedication and confidence as Glass Joe
Glass Joe reminds me of myself: I act like a winner, then I proceed to get the living crap beaten of of me...(not that I've ever actually been in a fight...)
His head really said: 🍌🌶🥐
(which fits better)
these emojis are out of touch rn...
I think his 1 win is from every loss being a small win and they all just totaled to 1
Winston Payne: “I can’t believe this, everybody treats me like a darn joke!”
Glass Joe: *”First time?”*
This sound so french que sa change tout mes pensées en francais.
I can't believe glass joe just got his 1 win against mike tyson
It was actually not Mike Tyson it was nick bruisers The final boss fight of Super punch out
@@MRDK-TF2bro’s referring to the time Mike Tyson played Punch Out, and he stated that he couldn’t even beat Glass Joe…
The fact that Glass Joe tries another round...
It fills you with determination.
si vous êtes assommé par Glass Joe, alors vous pourriez tout aussi bien quitter
the people who call him scrawny and weak don't realize he is able to take down Little Mac, the same guy that can take punches that smash brick walls easily and stay standing
