i’m not sure if it was the creators intentions, but i’d like to think they pulled a “got you” moment when it came to Macho Man and Sandman, with how every other circuit had only 4 fighters, and how Macho was the champion in MTPO, and how liked he was as well, but there were signs that he obviously wasn’t, with him not wielding the belt and having an ominous one loss to his record, its just a nice subtle surprise to anyone who knows that Macho Man beat Sandman (who was the prior champ in MTPO), only for Sandman to run it back and beat Macho Man in this game.
I think this piece right here is one of the best parts of Punch Out Wii's soundtrack. Its up there with the other great pieces, like the Minor Circuit,Don Flamenco and Aran Ryan
Funny how in the OG Punch Out, Mr. Sandman actually came BEFORE Super Macho Man but since Sandman was more of an infamous challenge in the original, Next Level said "Yeah....how about we give the World title to the one who ACTUALLY deserves it"
Mr. Sandman was the World Champion in the true OG Punch-Out, the arcade game from 1983. Super Macho Man was given the World Champion title in 1984's Super Punch-Out, simply because there was no Mr. Sandman, and due to this Macho was given the World Champion title again in NES Punch-Out and, yet again, in SNES Super Punch-Out, with Mr. Sandman ranking lower and lower with each installment (#1 in the NES and Major Circuit Champion in the SNES). Next Level Games corrected and perfected Sandman in the Wii reboot, making him the undisputed Champion again, as a sign of vengeance for his increasingly lowering rankings throughout the series.

@@IronHawk96 God yeah, I remember legitimately sweating hard as I managed to get him on second knockdown on TD, and man I deadass jumped in my seat as soon as I heard that music play getting ready for him to get up again.
Good times.
I love the desperation theme at 1:23
4:28 hearing that for the first time felt so satisfying
Something people don’t bring up with Mr. Sandman. King Hippo and Flemenco use the circuit bout themes and everyone else uses that circuits themes. Sandman’s theme is the bouts theme
This is the theme jake paul will hear in his head when fighting mike tyson.
underrated
This aged horribly
unfortunately
@@Cherryponut it very much did
I wish it hit different
I wish every song of punch out in youtube was like Watgob's mix. Gilvasunner forgot the result screen themes, which is the best part of the song. Also the pause themes.
Contender: Defeating the undefeatable.
Title Defense: Taking on a serious sore loser determined to win it all back.
No, you’re defeating a literal boxing god. Those uppercuts fractured Mac’s bones.
@@obbyistguy and i wonder. How the hell is Mac still standing up during the fight since his bones were broken.
Mr. Sandman actually does have a gimmick: he is from the fighting city of Philadelphia.
This theme screams “this guy is a BOXER and is about to turn you inside out”
A truly final boss theme! Damn it
song refrences:
0:10 Main Theme
1:24 Von Kaiser's theme
2:34 Main theme (again)
3:48 Von Kaiser again
i’m not sure if it was the creators intentions, but i’d like to think they pulled a “got you” moment when it came to Macho Man and Sandman, with how every other circuit had only 4 fighters, and how Macho was the champion in MTPO, and how liked he was as well, but there were signs that he obviously wasn’t, with him not wielding the belt and having an ominous one loss to his record, its just a nice subtle surprise to anyone who knows that Macho Man beat Sandman (who was the prior champ in MTPO), only for Sandman to run it back and beat Macho Man in this game.
I think this piece right here is one of the best parts of Punch Out Wii's soundtrack. Its up there with the other great pieces, like the Minor Circuit,Don Flamenco and Aran Ryan
It's waaaay past your bedtime RUclips!
@Adrian.R850 All fun & games for Sandman till Mickey Mouse pulls up
(I get he isn't relevant but just said it for the funny)
The fact that this guy makes any pro look like a parody, since all he does is train and wreck every fighter in the ring…
And what’s to say he’s an antagonistic character…?
That moment when you knock him down with a star punch and that powerful note hits you as you start mashing the buttons to recover HP. So satisfying.
This has the best opponent down theme in the game
change my mind
Mr. Sandman is a badass.
He’s called Mr. Sandman because he turns buildings into sand with only 2 punches.
4:28
I love that results screen music, it makes you feel like you just won at life
0:00 Intro
0:10 - 2:35 Fight
1:05 -2:09 Pause
1:23 Little Mac Down
3:48 Mr Sandman Down
4:22 Victory
I wish I had this game, I want it so badly! meh main Little mac! I must play his games.
2009
It's on Wii U E-Shop, Kyon Baby! - Doc Louis
SteveDoidoUltimate Sounds wrong. XD
And we got Mr. Sandman, whose only gimmick is simply being a disturbingly skilled boxer.
The theme of "oh shit."
sometimes i like to imagine that when he is got beaten up by little mac
he gets back to his house and hugs his little asian wife and cries :3
Jimmy Snuggle Bear Game Grumps?
or maybe hug a kitten
ANIME MEMELORD
This is cute shit
super adorable shit here ^ and his wife is like super fucking tiny compared to mr sandman like he just towers over her
I like the way how Mr. Sandman is the only opponent that will fight very seriously
Piston Hondo wants a word
Glass Joe tries.
Me in 2019 revisiting my childhood getting to this...
Enjoying this mix man, i like it
I always love your punchout mixes. Hope you do the rest of the fighters. :3
