Clinton, I'm shocked you just found these. But, I'm glad you did. A couple of things from someone who's been using these for quite a while, using a garbage can or laundry basket to stuff hay bags is much easier. Also, if you wrap the string around the plastic piece and tie it like a quick release style knot it comes off A LOT easier when they are done toying with it and empty it. Otherwise it will be super tight and hard to undo :)
Because of HayChix I feed my horses once every ten days. I use their DIY net and created a feeder that holds 6 bales of hay. Because of HayChix I helped an older dude with 20 brood mares be able to feed his. He made a feeder that would fit a 2,000 pound square bale and the haychix net covered this. He fed his mares once every 3 weeks and they were eating the whole time. They've made it so feeding hay can mimic grazing.
I've had a round bale bag from Haychix for over ten years. This is the first year it finally got a hole in it from one of the horses. Great product and great service.
Clinton, I have a question for you. My horse used to paw during feeding time, and I followed your method on fixing that. I left her and didn't feed her while she was anticipating it or pawing. She stopped pawing when you're taking the food to her, but now she does it after you put the food in her bowl while she is eating. Basically, when you can't take it from her. What will stop her from doing that?
If horses are creatures to be grazing that many hours each day, wouldn't it make more sense for the horse to have it's head down to eat hay from the ground level as opposed to eating from a hay net that is elevated above the ground ??
Thank you so much for sharing and helping with a discount!! That's awesome that they are made in the USA! Cheers!!!

Love these, been using same ones for about 10 years, and my horses are incredibly destructive!
Knotless nets are even better, welcome to the hay net club!
I used the large round bale nets , awesome product.

Great idea..should it be as low as possible for the horses to eat comfortably?
