i showed some of this on my instagram channel today when we first did it...also wen't live for a bit like i do almost every day. Follow my page at instagram.com/meade916 for early previews to a lot of stuff you see here!
Steve's heart is as big as his system. His boy is going to really appreciate what he has done for him . Every day he drives it will be a constant reminder 🤘
see the numbers next to the Patreons names at the end? I am about to drop some nice prizes and those numbers will soon mean something...stay tuned! www.patreon.com/meade916
been watching for literally years and years and somehow you just keep getting better, the shop looks bigger, brand is expanding, its just so cool to see the constant growth brotha. thanks for delivering for over a decade
alot of the folks out here for some reason point the woofers toward the trunk in their rides and have the bass so loud it rattles stuff..if i ever build a system i'm gonna do what you did in this video and test different positions first..Learn something new every day..
Steve Meade, what can I say? You're bad ass man. Everything you do, you put your pride into as well as your reputation, and your reputation simply speaks for itself. GOOD JOB, thanks for sharing the build with the entire BASS community, Joseph.
I just did a similar setup with two Massive GTX 122 wired series parallel to a Hifonics HFi 1500. They replaced a set of 11 year old Five Star Diamond Series SVC 4ohm subs and 11 year old American Bass class A/B 2 channel pushing 150 rms bridged at 2ohm I measured the existing box and the dimensions where perfect right in middle of manufacturer range. The slot port in the center of the box matched Massives specs to the tee. It sounds amazing, such an improvement. Now I just need to invest in some of those SMD devices to really get it at the right frequency response.
I love these videos. I need the space in my single cab truck. I have a low profile wedge. I would love to see you compare low profile subs and build a killer single wedge.
I'm more of a sq guy. I have a 94 c1500 that's getting 4 10s. 2 behind the rear seat and 2 under the rear seat. And hopefully when I'm finished you can't see them at all. I also have a double din in the dash. Metra makes the kit. Love it.
Can’t wait to see this thing finished. Gonna be sick. I wish I would’ve visited your shop when I was staying in Sacramento. Regret it everyday. Love the vids Steve.
Man good job bro, ima plan a trip to come down and work for you for a few days just to be a extra helping hand in the lab so i get to work with the mad scientist..Hell even if its just gluing a piece of wood together bro..
I had an 02 silverado and subs up ported up was best for spl.....i did end up porting to the drivers rear door sub up however and it was very musical tuned at 34hz.
i already broke it hooking it up to the Raven 15k amp haha...i thought it would be a dramatic video and be good for youtube but it just broke and broke fast. Very uneventful haha! No smoke or anything, it broke before it could burn :D
Outstanding work man. I have an 03 Silverado Ext cab myself, howd you compensate for the floor buldge? Whatd you build for the box to sit flat?. Im only running 2 CT sounds Ozone 12's. They slap pretty good. I did have the back seat out but decided to put back in till i can come up with a way to fab something to flatten out that dang hump.
Brando looked like he herniated about 3 discs and blew his groin out moving that box. 😂. Steve you gotta feed that boy if you keep making these big ass boxes!🤘🤘🤘
Interesting stuff. I did the same positioning test with 2 15s in a 04 GMC ext. cab and it also sounded better with the port against the back wall and pointing towards the side but the subs are pointing up instead of forward.
I remember watching the video of the 20,000 watt Tahoe along time ago & said 1 day I’ll have a system like that now I can’t wait to get an actual crazy build from Steve let’s see if we can make it happen 1 day
LMAO! Steve, you always play the serious face from day one...but i can see you are smiling with joy from the inside on this build...almost like a child that just got a new video game system :D just cant wait to play with it :D I love it.
My gut says to go with facing forward, but I'm second-guessing myself. I played around with cone loading a lot back in the early 90s, but that was back before excursions and power levels got as extreme and common as they are now. It was a really effective way to get a bit more out of a low-end sub, but I really don't know how a sub with that much excursion responds to cone loading. I worry that the air mass would get muffled--rather than boosted--by the restriction of the driver and passenger seats. Dunno; just thinking out loud! Box looks killer, and hot damn that tripod flex! LOL
Facing the back of the seat is way better at a 35 angel I’ve built and tested both with sealed boxes now stacking two tall behind each seat and either running port up or in center!
you millennials won't understand this craftsmanship! I am 80s baby, 1980 to be exact, I am 37 and when we did car audio in the 90s we did it like this. You took your time and did it right. Car systems today with these young kids are half assed. They cut corners and it annoys me to no end. subs hooked up to the deck and trunk rattle with no sound deadener.
That usually means you may have missed some pockets in the trunk. Mine did that back when I had a system and I couldnt get around it as my trunk lid had two holes and a small gap between the top and bottom layer so it was almost impossible, even with it covered, to keep it from rattling. See here what I mean. img.justparts.com/eImage/709a52ed-5e91-4cde-92d3-935b4c65f124.JPG
Hell yeah man , that's awesome Steve and Brandon. You could get a good workout moving that box around. Thanks for the video, damn back window looked like it waves in it.
Hey Steve nice job bro! I'm loving it, box got mad flex appeal, tuned @ 30 hz sounds really great in the truck, 2 me the Subs sound better & more effective facing up! by the way Steve, this is just a suggestion, since no one will be sitting in the back you could remove those seat belts & add 6x8/6x9 rear fill speakers, those rear pillars are wide enough to host this type of setup, you would only have to cut out/remove the 4x6 speakers without removing that whole overhead plastic piece, that breaks easily, anyhow just a thought, but overall Steve it looks great can't wait for the next video! 💯😎✌️
+meade916 all righty then, carry on Steve, I'm looking forward to the next video footage of Rob's truck near completion day, it's going to be audio Bliss for him. 💯😎👍
Everything is looking good and sounding good so far Steve!!!! Awsone job!!!! 👍👍👍 Can't wait until it's all finish bro!!! So where exactly is the amp rack going to be placed at that you talked about??? Hey Steve do you think that it could of possibly sounded better and looked better in a ported wall setup???
thanks man. I like it too. I get to show you guys more actual "work" without having to upload a 2 hour video. When you edit all the tedious stuff out, people think this shit is simple and easy. I mean it isn't rocket science but there is a lot more work involved (to do it right) than it looks like.
Robert Echols depends on the size of the box to weather or not I take the seat out! I try to leave the seat in so if need be I can take the box out for more seating room!
Steve do you not think it would be better to wire the voice coils of each pair in parallel and then series the woofers of each pair? You would still get 1 ohm but your voice coils would all be in sync with their partners. That’s just how I do it, I don’t like having voice coils of the same woofer in series.
Hey Steve I've got a '11 Chevy Silverado crew cab and don't want to take back seat out ( you know the kids thing.) What's a good setup for under seat but also want to feel that bass. I had 4 solo baric kicker 10's back in the mid 90's with 2 alpine mrv1000 bridged behind seat of a 95 Nissan SE single cab truck. been watching for literally years and years and somehow you just keep getting better, the shop looks bigger, brand is expanding, its just so cool to see the constant growth brotha. thanks for delivering for over a decade
Man, This build is getting wicked seeing it come together.
I had same truck back in the day. 4 Orion original xtr 15's firing forward on a 2100 hcca. This build brings back a lot of old memories.
alot of the folks out here for some reason point the woofers toward the trunk in their rides and have the bass so loud it rattles stuff..if i ever build a system i'm gonna do what you did in this video and test different positions first..Learn something new every day..
If anybody has a problem ,on how you work your magic this channel isn't for them you are the best bro......
love that you go through the effort of testing the position of the box. thanks for the video!
That '92 Chevy is going to be hitting hard with them subs in no time, I'm making some progress with my '98 Chevy 1500. Keep up the good work.
Daaaamn. 5.43am in the UK. Can’t get enough of Steve’s builds though. 😊
So far I don't see no one doing it better then this guy as far as custom install so I'm sure it's number one on you tube. Jeep up the good work.
Steve Meade, what can I say? You're bad ass man. Everything you do, you put your pride into as well as your reputation, and your reputation simply speaks for itself. GOOD JOB, thanks for sharing the build with the entire BASS community, Joseph.
When Brandido make's the face you know that be slapping!!! 😂👍👍

Looks clean Steve love watching your builds can’t wait to see it all finished!!!
Hell yeah, keeps getting better. Can't wait to his reaction when he gets it back.
I love that ending! "They'not even moving and it's just..." lmao!
I love these videos. I need the space in my single cab truck. I have a low profile wedge. I would love to see you compare low profile subs and build a killer single wedge.

how is that "SQ"? lol
Forever impressed with the work you do, keep it up Steve!
I'm liking em forward too because he can still have some storage space on top of the box maybe and bonus it sounding better that way!
I could use a friend like you Steve good work bro
That is hella sick MEADE...I agree, subs facing fwd port as far back as possible..anxious AF for the next Episode...
Always love to see the build videos and the amp test Tuesday’s, always quality work from you Steve, good work
Can’t wait to see this thing finished. Gonna be sick. I wish I would’ve visited your shop when I was staying in Sacramento. Regret it everyday. Love the vids Steve.

Perfection to the max! How can someone unlike this
great job bro, always a pleasure watching every video.
I can't imagine the excitement Rod feels if/when he watches his truck slamming like this
That camera is picking up EVERYTHING 💪🏾💪🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾 good shit brother
Your such a good friend and an awesome builder. Keep up the great work and can’t wait for the streams that follow. Good stuff Mr. Meade
Been following you in this build man, tryna learn from your work.
Man his Facial expression @11:50 Tells the Whole story about what it Sounds, n Feels Like! Like Xscape said: "Feels So Good, Feels SO GOOD!
I had an 02 silverado and subs up ported up was best for spl.....i did end up porting to the drivers rear door sub up however and it was very musical tuned at 34hz.
I love these build series!
I miss these days... I haven’t got to put a system together in years. It’s very satisfying and rewarding in the end
Please find some way to include the bucket oh bass into the final build
i already broke it hooking it up to the Raven 15k amp haha...i thought it would be a dramatic video and be good for youtube but it just broke and broke fast. Very uneventful haha! No smoke or anything, it broke before it could burn :D

Brando makes the best faces when it hits!!!!
Shawn Broyles Word.....the one time he doesn't look like he's about to shit on himself lol
Brando looked like he herniated about 3 discs and blew his groin out moving that box. 😂. Steve you gotta feed that boy if you keep making these big ass boxes!🤘🤘🤘
bro...he eats like a fucking horse. I don't know where it all goes haha thanks man :D
if he eats too much then that's the reason he's so weak. lol
Interesting stuff. I did the same positioning test with 2 15s in a 04 GMC ext. cab and it also sounded better with the port against the back wall and pointing towards the side but the subs are pointing up instead of forward.

Good shit bro. Waiting to see when it’s all finished up. Any ideas for the amp rack? I know it would be nice tho. Keep up the good work bro!!
Box turned out nice. Look at them DC 12's flexin hard on just 1600 watts! I bet it sounds sick, especially for the wattage used.
Nice, I bet it sounds awesome. Steve you really have an amazing talent.thumbs up to you and you’re team.👍🏻

Nice work man, this build is coming along nicely!
Awesome job! Reminds me when my dad told me he used to have a punch 150HD on 4 punch 12’s lol
Facing the back of the seat is way better at a 35 angel I’ve built and tested both with sealed boxes now stacking two tall behind each seat and either running port up or in center!
welcome to school boyyyyyz 🛐🛐🛐 in bassys name, i pray, aaamen
Love the series of videos, and the background beats are nice as hell....head bobbin...

OMG. It was so good what you did n i love it. I ike making boxes and good bumpin
Going to need a good Alarm system in there for ur boy!!!
Dope ass build brother! I’m looking forward to the next video! I always face the subs forward in my ext cab trucks!
Luke Dawg do you take out the backseat or do you put the box on top of seat ? Get back to me whenever you can, thanks
Billy Beane hey thanks dude
Robert Echols depends on the size of the box to weather or not I take the seat out! I try to leave the seat in so if need be I can take the box out for more seating room!
Billy Beane Yeah the sun and heat out there beats on stuff like no other
Luke Dawg hey Luke thanks for your advice, didn't think about that
Can't wait to see it done
Dayumm those things are flexin lol makes me even more anxious for my custom box for my solo x 10's to get here! OLD SCHOOL flex coming soon haha
Nice job on the install when you get a chance. Try Techmaster P.E.B good bass Sound Track.
LMAO
Brandon's reactions are priceless 😂
I wonder how heavy the box is. That box would look nice with
Line X . Gonna hurt the chest with that one. Really nice job.
I would spray it with the same exact color and stuff you used on the "24 layer" box.
Steve do you not think it would be better to wire the voice coils of each pair in parallel and then series the woofers of each pair? You would still get 1 ohm but your voice coils would all be in sync with their partners.
That’s just how I do it, I don’t like having voice coils of the same woofer in series.
nah.. It wouldn't be better. Everything is in sync. No problems here.
That box is making them subs rattle the truck. Your friend will have a big smile when he hears it
Some device nearby says "Sorry, i'm unable to do that" and Steve says shut up LMAO
Steve, do you use a specific software package when designing your ported boxes to get the port sized appropriately? WinISD?
Box is gonna be looking nice when your done with it
I had a chevy with 4x Kicker square 10's forward sealed under the back seat. Actually miss that setup.
Great job on the box
Damn those LVL 1 DCs look dope asf !
Great job on the build man.
The system is gonna be 5 times more valuble that the rest of the truck lol. Good work tho Steve👍
When do you test the Soundigital 20K???? I have been waiting for 1 month for it 🙈🙈
Steve Meade is the Phil Jackson of car audio!💪👍
Verry nice work it sounds Incredible good bass like a Earthquake🔊🔊🔊🔊👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Master at his craft
nah. Still a student. Thanks though!
Damn siri was tryna help out😄
Hey Steve I've got a '11 Chevy Silverado crew cab and don't want to take back seat out ( you know the kids thing.) What's a good setup for under seat but also want to feel that bass. I had 4 solo baric kicker 10's back in the mid 90's with 2 alpine mrv1000 bridged behind seat of a 95 Nissan SE single cab truck. Been away from audio since early 2000's ( The family thing) So now I would like to get back into hearing that bass. I would really appreciate any ideas you could help me with. Thanks. KB, if you need anymore info just let me know and I get back at ya.
Sound Off Audio make a quad 8" ported box that fits under the seat: www.soundoffaudio.com/ported-quad-8-for-2007-2013-chevy-silverado-crew/
Who ever posted something, it didn't go through. If it was a link, you can thank RUclips's random spam filter.
Damn makes me want Steve to make me a box. No one around here knows how to and I can't afford to mess up trying making one myself.
