I did this one a few days ago. As a x10 drama queen, I was very disappointed that there was no dramatic scene with the parents being whisked off into the night and the kids standing outside with sad moodlets like "where did mum and dad go?" right at the start.
Imagine if they brought back the sims 2 cutscenes for the alien abduction and return
I agree. I did this scenario and it was so underwhelming. Plus there was no reaction to them being gone

I mean I kinda get it since not everyone has get to work, which is where the alien abductions are but I feel like if you do have the game pass it should show them getting sucked up and returned, if not then it defaults to this
Omg it would have been stupid lit.
I did this with the Goths. They now have a much more humble abode :). The kids sold most of the useless stuff that was lying around (knight's armor... really?) and shrunk the house. The parents still got paid for their jobs while being in space. Always nice to have employers that understand special situations.
I can imagine the HR emails.
"Should this go in the system as Special Leave, Sick Leave, or Family Leave? Boss said it shouldn't be left as question marks."
"...stick it in as Compassionate Leave, but attach the article about the abductions."
I did it with the goths too! And i was so annoyed by their parents still gaining money, i kept cheating it away. I didn’t shrunk the house but i should, the kids lived a good life lessons of what not paying the bills because you can’t afford it is like
I always find that gardening is a great money maker especially with teens. With only 10 grape vines I could easily make £600 ever 2 days
Honestly super lame that they can't make challenges cross-pack compatible, like if, I own Get To Work, shouldn't the parents get physically abducted and then brought back at the end of the challenge? Bonus, what if the dad came back pregnant with an alien baby? Oh you thought the alien drama was all over? No fam, here's an alien half-brother!
Thats so frustrating that there is a glitch that the parents kept coming back. I wanna try this scenario with the high school pack though, some fun role play ability.
Some of these scenarios glitch out if you ever leave the home lot (aside from work/school).
This happened to me also. It was really annoying
I like to think that the perents are aliens in disguise. They are checking in, making sure the kids don't get into trouble.

In life we tell children stay away from strangers especially adults. In Sims not only do we encourage it, it’s hurry up and talk to the adult stranger and become friends. LOL😂😂
Ikr? It's so weird that they made that and aspiration. It should have just been "Be friends with 2 Sims".
Let's just say the parents coming back and forth is the aliens gas lighting the kids
When I tried this scenario, I made my teen sim hate children. It was so much harder. I also did the creativity aspiration so I had to buy a few things instead of the social one. I only used one parent and mine never glitched out or anything. If you want the money quickly, you can just sell the house and build another one once the money is in the bank. LOL!
For some reason it seems like people using just one parent don’t have the issue with the parent reappearing. Such a strange glitch lol
I always expect you to say "oh for fuck sake" at least once every video you post. Was not disappointed 😂😂
I really enjoyed this scenario, interesting and challenging. Would like more like this, this requires planning and juggling multiple objectives. This shows how good a scenario can be. I didn't have the issue with the parents coming back.
Read books and talk to adults, idk i think they're cutting corners as always, least they could have done was some fancy event and/or a cutscene for abduction. Seems pretty lame to me tbh. It's like the parents just work a lot.
I had a blast with this scenario after watching this video. And no, my parents didn't come back either. There really were so many different ways one could complete it 🙂
Another way to make fast $$ is to go to the festivals. The Spice Festival and Romance have plants you can harvest. Some of those can bring in a ton of $$, especially if you plant one of the pricey ones and harvest from that.
My kids got super creative to earn money for this scenario. The funniest bit was when my child, who had hardly any creative skills, was playing her violin in public and adults started throwing money at her while ranting about her horrible playing so that she would stop. I think she made $50 Lol 😆
The parents only turned up once when I was doing this. They disappeared straight away after. I created them in story mode and the mother had a job. She kept getting paid even though she clearly wasn't going to work! The scenario also put both kids at grade F at school from the start. I thought that was part of the scenario until I saw yours were at C. Getting the grades up was a real challenge!
I was surprised that the parents kept coming back I tried this scenario a day or two after it was added and I didn’t have that problem. They would reappear when one of my sims returned from traveling but they would vanish quickly afterward.
On the last day of the scenario, I moved the sims from the house they were in, sold all furniture, and moved them into an empty lot and gained the a majority of the $15,000 from that. Oh and odd jobs. Also creativity aspiration is the easiest to complete.
So glad I’m not the only one that got a glitched “aliens stole my parents” scenario. Mine glitched real bad and said I completed it in 4 days but I hadn’t actually completed it. 😅
If you want to restart without saving, exit the game entirely without saving it, then reload it.
Or go to the main menu NOT manage world. Then load game instead of resume.
I didn’t realise so many people were having this scenario be so glitchy until I watched this video and saw the comments , but when I played I had no glitches and I played multiple times to try and beat how long it took. Everyone else I watched didn’t have it be so glitchy, so I have no clue what could be causing it to be so for everyone else.
I've done this one a couple of times and the 15k is definitely the sticking point for it. Protip don't start in a rental because you spend ALL your money on rent and security deposit that you don't get back if you need to move for some reason eg wanting to use gardening or farm animals.
Honestly my main disappointment with scenarios is I can't string several together. I wanted to do the troubled teen one, then this one, then the rocket science one, etc. It also won't let you put extra kids or teens in (teens especially makes sense since they can help a lot with the money Ig) which ruled out a lot of my families.
I was able to string a few together. I started with the Unlucky Chef scenario, had her kid do the Superrich Supervillain scenario and his kid did the Extraterrestrial Explorer scenario. I think there are some scenarios that you have to start with a new household but others you can just hop into with current households.
@@sabrinaloizides-merideth9874 Interesting! Some of them are probably locked to having the exactly correct combination of Sims as well like with this one and only having one kid and one teen. I'm doing Superrich Supervillain with a different Sim right now so I might see what it will let me do after that.
The making money part of it just seems like a grind. James Turner did it by selling the house right at the start and it immediately fulfilled the requirement. Then he just rebuilt the house. Seems like a workaround?
I'm doing this scenario with a grandparent sim. I do not think you're suppose to make the sim parents if you choose to create a new family for this scenario. Maybe that's why Whiny Brit keeps getting that glitch. I made my new family without parents; one teen, one child and an elder. I use MCCC to make the elder their grandmother. I'm pretty sure if you pick an existing household, you'll probably get to see the kidnapping like with every other random alien abduction in the game.
I'm a simple enby, I see Whiny Brit with a brand new video I click at the speed of sound.
When I did this scenario the parents came back twice for me too. It kind of ruined it for me so I didn’t bother completing it. I was disappointed cause I liked the idea of this one. Typical stuff released that doesn’t really work right.
Tip for the future when your using a teen to make money, you can have 2 careers as long as they don't clash days, so you can join the barista and babysitter career as one is weekdays the other is weekends
I tried this on an empty lot, rags to riches style, and it was HARD. My teen was constantly exhausted from trying to finish all her homework, plus make enough money to buy necessities.
I just finished this one, and it was glitchy too. I chose an existing household. At first it was challenging because they live in a nice, big house and your funds get reduced to $500 but the bills are really high. But the dad kept getting paid at the end of the day, the household kept making nearly 4K a day. I somehow completed the scenario without having the child complete their aspiration, and when the parents returned I didn’t get all my household funds back. I still want to try it again but with a brand new family.
If you didn’t complete the aspiration then you didn’t do the scenerio. You’re child probably just aged up
@@yourbabytee Child didn’t age up. She had social aspiration and still needed to make one more adult friend. I sent the teen on a date with his girlfriend and the “scenario complete” announcement popped up. The child is still a child and the teen still a teen.
I played this scenario and the parents kept coming back during the day while the teen and kid were at school.
Best ways to make money outside of careers in the sims 4:
Painting
Gardening
Writing
At least those are the ones I use. Publish a book a day, after a bit you start getting thousands rolling in daily! It's passive income too, once you do it once it keeps coming.
I tried this scenario and the Parents stayed i the lot, they never disappeared but over all was okay secretario

I’m curious - why did you think going to manage worlds would mean it went back to where you saved the game? You have to exit to main menu, then reload the game. Going to manage worlds isn’t going to do anything because you’re still in the same save.
Its worked for me sometimes going to manage worlds, if its a bug or they got stuck sometimes going off the household stops whatever glitch was happening
Think I’m gonna try this scenario next! I was doing the proud parent one but for some reason it won’t register having a baby 😑 lol so don’t think it will complete for me 🤷♀️ oh well
fun fact: manage worlds apparently makes a quick save, so next time, quit to home screen!! happened to me too often
"Shay is far too tense for this" Yes... yes I am. Always. No matter the task... I did like that this scenario was more involved though! I had such trouble with this scenario cause HSY made my sim get kicked out of school and then I couldn't get her back in even cheating it. The one time I've never had a kid be an A student ever.
I did this one recently! Made survival money by fishing and the teens job, then pretty much all the rest by selling roses, from fishing one up. That didn't take long at £290 per rosebush.
I actually found this a bit more of a challenge compared to others, really enjoyed it and your play of it as always funny and original 😎😎
This scenario should be titled: prevent parents from being abducted and returned and abducted again multiple times by aliens 👽

This was a fun vid.
Reminds me of the legacy I started about two weeks ago. My sim was basically a sculptor aspiring to own his business that he can pass onto generations. He was also orphaned as a teenager and was socially awkward. 2 days in and all seems to be well, until I decided to make him sculpt a furniture- the minute he steps out of the house, he got abducted by aliens and went back preggo. LOL
I never thought about using the wishing well. Good call!
I played this one!! It was so much fun (: a little difficult depending on the child aspiration but it took me 10 sim days to beat it
This is my favorite scenario but the glitchy parents are annoying. It wasn’t this bad for me though. I’ve done it twice, once as a rags to riches type game starting with an empty lot. The second time I did it with the Goth kids and that was harder somehow. But I hope they keep this one permanently and make more like this in the future.

Imhi the social butterfly probably is the hardest child aspiration may be harder than some adult aspirations since you need to make friends something that's hard in real life and in game
Aaaw I am disappointed they have to earn money and not travel to space to fulfill this.

This is the only scenario I played all the way through.
Going to Manage worlds is the current moment, you would have had to go to the main menu and then come back for you to go with that last save.
In the 17:24 minute that sim in blue robe... It's just bad make-up or his eyes glowing red 🤣 I got startled at first

I got the money by taking selfies with everyone who walked by and selling them.
The law on leaving kids alone is based on a realistic assessment and the individuals maturity as it is illegal to leave a minor alone if it might endanger them.
I have seen recommendations for age 12 for more than an hour.
Not sure what age a child Sim is based on.
I just started this scenario; I had completed two tasks and the parents randomly reappeared during a thunderstorm.
So it's the Sims version of Jimmy Neutron....
Maxis can't even create and get a scenario to work without a few glitches, interfering. If I could play this game for one hour without a bug happening, it would blow my mind. OMG!!! Major LOL!!!

I think the reason that the parent was there is because every time you went out of the household she was sitting down but still it’s annoying glitch

Speaking of teens, I have a question: I know you did a video on the Highschool pack... When you buy the Highschool pack, do the teens always have to attend the Highschool in person? Or can you choose to have them go to school in a rabbit hole as they used to if that's not the sort of gameplay you wish to have for some families?

Hi :) when you just go to manage worlds it’s not saving it’s just not exiting the game. You have to go to the main menu to undo the unsaved stuff
For anyone trying to do this scenario, just know that the growing together child aspirations dont count! It made it quite frustrating for me...
I tried this and chose an empty lot so it was rags to riches + this scenario and it was a fail for my sim!
My game is still all full of glitches since the first update before the high school pack. And that’s with only mcc command center :(

I have no mods in my game and no custom content. My parents came back every time they travelled so I made the parents woohoo and they had twins LOL. One baby was alien and one was normal. Then the game said Game over when the second baby was born. Oops!

When you exited without saving and it had saved anyway, it's that a known bug? Same thing happened in my game the other day and now it can't save at all 😬🤔

I believe when you start looking through the telescope it'll happen at some point.
If you study rocket science, there are a few interactions that can trigger a randomized event, I believe.

I just finished this scenario today. I didn’t realize taking pictures of sims made them friends so I spent TWENTY THREE sim days and probably 3 full real life days trying to make my child sim friends by just doing friendly and funny interactions over and over AND I had to make their lifespan long because I couldn’t finish the scenario before they aged up which fails you. I also decided to put them in henford on bagley so I had to go and buy ingredients every single day to make food 😂 but I ended up making the money by doing painting and then selling almost everything in the house 😅 you did so much better than I did 🥲
