Hi Natalia, I hope you can help me with a problem that I have with maru-pen. When I draw fast lines ( like for cross hatching) the ink usually fail and break the line. With G-Pen I can do it, but I really would like to do crosshatching with the maru-pen. Those kind of problems are used to happen because of the ink, paper or the nib? Thanks in advance!
I suggest putting a flame to the nib to get rid of that coating. This helps the ink flow better but will also make it rust easier, so you just have to take extra care of your nib after using that method
It sounds like the ink is too thick. I would try to delute the ink with water and try that. Just a little water though! Max 25%!! Or find a less thick kiknd of ink. I prefere Pilot ink for drawing use, it works great with maru nibs.
How a nib can ink for a so long time? When i used a nib, I had no smudging problems, but it became dry after 3 centimeters of inking, regardless the quantity.
Hello Natalia my name is Sara I have been trying to become a mangaka but have no ide what i should do to become one. I understand it's hard to become one especially here in sweden but i really would like to try at least and I'm asking help from you. Unfortunatly you and I have met but you probably don't reamember since it was like 3 years ago in Kodachikon. I really really hope that you can help me take the first step of becoming a Mangaka.
Hm, I might remember you! Well, actually it's pretty easy to become a mangaka - just start making manga! But ok, I guess you mean a published mangaka? Then it takes a little more than that... Begin with making as much manga as you can! Make short stories, maximum 30 pages, and practice practice practice! Show them to your friends, family and later to others online or by making fanzines and selling them at conventions. When you feel like you are good enough to be published, I recommend that you apply to the Serieskolan in Malmö, where I teach. We can help you with perfecting your style and everything you need to know to get published, plus contacts and guidance to find a publisher. If you want to, you can email me (see my blog for my email address) if you have more questions.
Jetpens. Sök på "Tachikawa Maru nib" eller "Pilot Ink for drawing use".

It depends on what ink you use. Sounds like yours was too dry or too thick.
I dilate my ink with water since its sometimes too thick.
Por que Sword Princess não tem em português se o nome da autora aparenta ser brasileiro????

What do you use to draw under the ink? The green lines?
Rebecca Eve I use green leeds, size 0.7. The brand is Pilot Color ENO.
Thank you~
