    What program is this... I want to download it... xD
    Looks more natural than Manga Studio... almost real... Like dead trees for paper, metal and wood pens, and crushed plants for inks... I didn't even see you "Undo" once... you are good!

      +NoesisAndNoema HAha, yes, the program truly is made from dead trees. Retro, you know. Very old school. XD

      Natalia Batista I add a lot of folds to my clothes, XD It might make my characters look messy sometimes, but it actually adds more realism to the style.
      Love your inking, by the way! :D

    +larry parkins It sounds like you're clenching the pen too hard. You need to relax. Don't try to controll the nib, but learn how to let it "fly" off the paper (think of it as a plane that in a movement lands and takes off from the paper). Might be a good thing to practice brush inking to learn this technique, it really helps your nib inking!

    How did you draw those smooth lines for the hair? Whenever I'm inking the hair I always draw the same short line over and over again, making it looked like bunch of broken lines. Do you have any tips?

    • @bradleyhamilton4409
      @bradleyhamilton4409 5 лет назад +7

      This is super late, but long confident strokes are much better suited for hair rather than short choppy ones.

    • @MizantropMan
      @MizantropMan 5 лет назад +6

      I think it's best ro loosen up a bit. When I was starting, I was so afrait of doing it wrong that I only made it worse. Just trust your arm and let the strokes flow.

    That’s absolutely stunning artwork! The hair, hands, and face are all beautifully done!! Plus, your Sword Princess Amaltea manga is great! I can’t believe you’re on page 188! That’s quite an accomplishment! Not only does that take considerable skill and talent, but also lot's of passion and determination! Can’t wait to see more! Keep up the good work! :)

      I know this comment is 3 years old, but just so you know, pro inkers never ever EVER leave a bottle of ink opened on the same table as their work. Usually you have a drafting table/easel with the page angled and the bottle of ink below the page on the side, so it simply cannot happen. If you use brushes you don't need to leave it open anyway so you'd use a pallette.

    • @MangaNatalia
      @MangaNatalia  9 лет назад +2

      +Erika Miramontes Actually I use the nib just like a brush in that sense; I di the stroke in a movement to get the pointy ends.

    Why is the drawing blue before you ink it? Is there a special process that needs to be done or did you just draw it in blue pencil?

    • @coolguythematrix5
      @coolguythematrix5 9 лет назад +1

      SerenataImmortale0 it is a blue mine, its like a blue pencil. the difference beetwen the black pencil and this one is that if you scan the black pencil (i think) it will not scan it completely. with blue pencil it will. (i am mexican dont hate me :(

    • @SerenataImmortale0
      @SerenataImmortale0 9 лет назад

      A blue mine? Ill look it up. Thank you so much! And I don't hate! :D

    • @andinarizkia
      @andinarizkia 9 лет назад +2

      Fernando Pando As far as i know, blue pencil used to draw very rough sketches, like blockman to picking pose. After that, you draw clean sketches on it using black pencil. Blue pencil doesn't get scanned if you want to switch drawing to computer^^ But there are also people, like Natalie, that only using blue pencil to sketch :3

    • @RyanKirbyInks
      @RyanKirbyInks 9 лет назад +1

      SerenataImmortale0 Blue pencil, typically (though there are a few artists I know that blow up their sketches and print them on the final paper in non-photoblue).
      The purpose behind it is that erasing pencil lines lightens the ink and effects the overall image quality. Using blue pencil means you don't have to erase as the pencil lines won't be picked up when scanning the lineart. It also allows a better contrast between your inkwork and the paper allowing for better understanding of light/dark balance when inking and beta coloring/spotting blacks.
      I also use blue pencil to indicate where lighting effects go (highlights in hair, shadows on clothes, etc), even if the original picture was done in standard pencil. This is especially true when using screentones, as you can't erase pencil that was applied under screentone. You either must use blue pencil that won't be scanned, or draw with normal pencil on top of the tone, which can be risky if you mess up and can cause you to waste tone.
      Hope this helps.

    I have a big problem with fold clothes any idea how to practice on it cuz when i dunno how i just a very simple shirt or dress but it ruins the draw especially if i put a big effort on face and hair ?!!!

      Hm... I should recommend you to just start drawing from life. Either from photos of people in different clothes, or from real life models, like asking a friend to sit still for a moment while you draw that persons clothes - how they fold and where the shadows are. The more you practice the better you'll get!

    The outline... how did you draw it? With just the green (pencil crayon?) or did you draw it in regular pencil first?
    I'm trying to learn how to ink using dip pens -.- Not going so well... haha

      I use green leads for a mechanical pencil. The brand is called Pilot Color Eno and I use size 0.7. They are very fragile tho, so I also have searched and found a good mechanical pencil for them, with good support in the tip of the pencil.
      Check out my other videos to see how I drew the picture from the start! :)

    Now imagine doing this over and over and over and over to create a manga. This job is ridiculous. So skilled, but in the end, is it ever worth it ?

    • @MangaNatalia
      @MangaNatalia  8 лет назад

      Yep, it totally is! The feeling of completing a manga/comic and make it into a book, hodling it in your hand and letting others read it and enjoy the story and the art, that feeling is PRICELESS.
