Most honest review. Other RUclipsrs claim to be honest but we all know being human that is not possible when you get your stuff for free and you naturally hold back what you truly feel because it didn't come out of your wallet.
Super useful info! Truth be told, the RSeat Formula V2 is how I found your channel. I was looking for the best F1 style cockpit available. I had searched before, but all the videos were old and not great quality, but it just happened that you had posted THAT DAY, and I was like, "cool, this dude's got a new channel and he's doing exactly what I want to see". Then you ended up doing iRacing in the same series I race, so I just kind of stuck around. lol My Next Level Racing Challenger shares a lot of these issues, especially the bolt placement spots that are too tight to get a wrench into. It's also meant to be built on it's side or upside down, which makes it near impossible to adjust after it's built. I had to tighten a bolt that's in the seat rail that was coming loose, and I had to remove the monitor and wheel and turn it completely on it's side. Such a hassle! At any rate, I'm still on the hunt for a great F1 style cockpit, and I think you masterfully explained that this model isn't what I'm looking for. As much as I know I'm an open-wheeler, I've considered just getting a GT style cockpit because all the high-end gear seems to be made for GT racing.
Yeah ditto. I'm leaning towards a TrakRacer TR8. I think there just isn't enough demand for Formula style cockpits which means choice is limited and quality is hit or miss.
Thanks for the review. I was researching this product along with the Playseat formula pro. I want a formula style cockpit for sure. Anyway I just wanted to say that when I heard about your customer service problems it did not surprise me when I discovered the company is in Bulgaria.
My experience was awesome with them. Super fast shipping. I added 11 small caster balls on the bottom for ease of moving. Too bad these are no longer made.
My RSeat V2 was shipped without any problems but realized I needed a custom pedal plate for my CSL Elite. I reached out to “Jean-Marie” and I’ve been waiting for weeks for him to supposedly speak to someone so I can get it. I un dusted my wrench kit and helps makes adjustments much easier and somewhat faster then using the keys. I also have the ButtKicker and mount - 150% poorly designed... We have a pretty similar setup and can tell you the review is spot on!
@@rohan199221 upgraded to a V3 set of pedals and never looked back... Customer service was utterly useless - I personally think this company doesn't do much to empower its frontline workers. They never really got back to me about the plate, I only got a reply saying that they were disappointed I would write about them on social media and that it was all out of their control.
Glad I found your series of reviews of the RSeat! I was seriously considering it, but one of my main concerns was the area that held the steering wheel. I may end up getting the sim-lab gt1 evo with a formula-style seat.
Really interested to watch this as I was seriously tempted to buy one but was put of by reports of flex and customer service so I went with an 80/20 in a formula position. However I have to say even then it's still a nightmare to get it built and setup as getting a formula position cockpit ergonomically correct for each person is so hard as it needs to be so precise. Even getting my bass shakers mounted required me to custom make little wooden bases with 80/20 sides for them. They work great now with no noise but they were a pain. I also have the same issue you do with DD1. The truth is this is also the fault of fanatec. They need to bring out a shaft extension to fit the monitor between the wheel base and wheel. Currently I just have it behind the wheel base but it's not great for the FOV. I might have to go with something other than fanatec. Btw at least it looks great.
Great honest overview. We need to see more of these rather than just glowing reviews by people trying to justify the hole in their bank balance. What a bummer for you mate. Hopefully over time you come up with some workarounds and hacks to improve things a little.
Thanks Luke! In all honesty, there’s still lots to enjoy but I think the company promotes all the positives so I need to balance it with the other side of the coin.
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Through your very painful experience, brutal and roasting video, and straightforward honesty, you have saved me from making the same mistake by ordering this rig. This is probably the best review of any product I have ever seen. Just like a supermodel that has stunning beauty, this rig really caught my eye at first glance. You’re like the best friend that explains that the supermodel, pretty as she might be...is loaded with problems that you can’t see on the surface. She’s co-dependent, drug addicted, depressed, demanding, entitled, materialistic, and just a plain bitch. It seems that this company should not only be breaking their necks by trying to fix your situation, but should hire you as a design consultant. I have to say that your series of videos on the review of their product has got to be damaging to sales. I think I’ll wait a few more years and watch more videos like these before I invest in a sim rig. Thanks so much for sharing your journey!
Was on the fence, and i really appreciate this video! Really loved the aesthetics of this product but if it can't function too then what's the point. The search continues.
I’m a design student in Louisiana and I’ve been using a couple of your videos as some research for the F1 style cockpit I’ll be designing next semester. I’d like to have you as part of my focus group if you’re able to.
Precise, clean, technical... Very good video with real informations that we all needs to know ! Thanks a lot for this honest review man, i was wondering between P1-x and Rseat so far... The problem is that there are no really good F1 style cockpit atm (at resonable price), even if i buy an "F1 style" seat with the P1-X, the position would be more like a GT. Simracing component have the SRC - FX but not sure about the flex at the pedals. What do you think about P1-x with the simlab F1 seat?
Thank you! If I had to choose again, that P1-X and SimLab seat might be something I would try. I like that the P1-X seems to let you add seemingly unlimited accessories as you see fit.
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this review. Couple questions I have for you is, how tall are you? Also, would you not cut the company a bit of slack for not offering a proper shifter bracket due to this being primarily for modern F1 sim racing?
Hey Humza: nope, not the RSeat tray! I bought this tray here from Amazon: amzn.to/3jesPoU And mount it onto the display stand with a display arm: amzn.to/37mIGiY
hi man great video im at the moment trying to figure out whether to go with Rseat now or get the Playseat in Australia the Rseat is at least about 1000 dollars cheaper than the playseat both great rigs though
I have the rseat formula as well except some awesome dude from offerup let me have it for free. I have the same problem with my knees hitting the metal, except mine hit on the supports that hold the wheel up. I laughed out loud seeing the foam you taped there (I've thought about it so many times). I just got my buttkicker before I saw the review and I'm gonna still try to set it up and see if it works. Hopefully I don't have the same problem!
Yes I had similar dealings with r seat. Crap company. Ended up fixing everything myself. Rips in the seat and parts of the frame bent. Tried for a whole year to get a response from them .No luck. Will never buy anything from them again.
have an honest question here, someone is willing to sell me a brand new pre-assembled kit of this sim for $600, considering the msrp and the problems in this video don’t relate, is this a good buy atnew 600?

Great info mate. Really thought about this rig, but after seeing this I'm going for an alternative rig
Thanks William! What alternative are you now getting?
holy crap so glad I found this video! thank you so much
Thanks for this review bro! I actually started to follow because of the chair but love the races now! I’ll keep looking for a good chair then

Indeed, there seems to a gap in the market for high-end F1 style cockpit!
Yeah ditto. I'm leaning towards a TrakRacer TR8. I think there just isn't enough demand for Formula style cockpits which means choice is limited and quality is hit or miss.

I have the same exact problem with my csl elite pedals! Did they ever send you the pedal plate?

Thanks for this. I almost bought one of these, and now I'm very glad I didn't.

Very insightful, indeed the formula positon is difficult to get right. And deeply personal.

Wow thanks for the honesty, not going for this seat I guess
Mo what keyboard tray do you have on the left of the rig is that the official rseat one?
Hey Humza: nope, not the RSeat tray!
I bought this tray here from Amazon: amzn.to/3jesPoU

Not a fan of my GTR simulator either. Curious what you might think of buying next?
Thanks bro

How was the Burt kicker? Same experience
Why don’t you grind off a piece off of your allen key so you can get in those tight spots? Still a poor design, but at least it will be tight...
So 90% of your complaints would be resolved by using a shorter profile Allen key or the 2 minutes it takes to cut one down with a dremel?

Bit late but honestly, all things considered, I'm still using it. $500-600 for this would be a good deal in my view
I feel like buying the rite tools for the job would save you a lot of mess with this rig.
Ouch.
i was looking into buying a rig. Maybe a Rseat.
Well...nope. :p
Thanks for the review.
Bad customer service = no buy. Simple as that.
