- It’s been a long time coming but we’re now aboard our new home, a Leopard 45 catamaran named Liger. We chose to do handover of our yacht in Cape Town with the boys heading to Africa while Telicia and Rose stayed behind in Australia.

Such an exciting thing isn’t it. Stepping foot on your new home, a brand new boat. ❤
Seemed such joyous event. Cannot believe the debacle to follow. Leopoldo should be ashamed.
It's hard for us to look back on this time given the outcome; there was so much hope and excitement for the future after working very hard to make it happen. Sad to look back now in hindsight knowing how things turned out, but we're looking forward to the next chapter
Congrats on your handover looking forward to seeing the fit out process. Goodluck!
Thanks! :D
Congratulations
I’m new to your channel. Exciting to see the planning going into the purchase of your new cat. Im hoping to do the same one day soon. A little concerning to see some of the rusted debris being found in the hulls. Did you engage an independent “expert” to represent you during the sea trials and handover process? How did you know that all was ok and set up correctly with the cat?
Welcome to the channel! I'm not sure how much of our journey you've watched but sadly we've had a very poor experience with the workmanship on our hull and warranty process, which is still being resolved now. Prior to handover we spent time researching known issues, speaking to owners and finding out what to look for during the handover process. We used that information to develop a checklist of things to look for during handover. We've since added to the checklist based on our post handover experience, and uploaded it to the Travel Sketch website so people can download a copy to help with their own handovers. The marine industry in Cape Town in particular isn't that big so finding a completely impartial expert willing to take on a local manufacturer is difficult.
@@travelsketch Thanks for the reply. I came across your channel yesterday when researching different hull materials and hull testing. (i don’t know anything much about boats - but i’m learning and preparing to go out on a limb and hopefully buy a cat one day). I saw one of your recent videos doing the tap test on the hulls. Yeiks. I have started to watch your first videos and i’m slowly making my way through to your recent videos. Nice story so far. Keep it up 👍
The yacht was handed over during partial lock down in the middle of the virus. There was nobody available that I had any confidence in surveyor wise. The boat was hauled for both warranty repair and aftermarket. There were visible cracks in the hulls from handover. One weeping liquid just above the water line.
How much sailing experience did you have before taking over the boat?
Hi Guys, congratulations on delivery. Quick question. Did you haul out after handover for additional work or another reason.
