  • Should You Buy Crysis 2 in 2022?
In todays video we are going back to 2011 and reviewing Crysis 2 in 2022 to see if Crysis 2 holds up to todays standards.
There is no fps out there quite like crysis, crysis is one of the most unique feeling fps games to exist i think, its nothing like halo but shares similairties to call of duty and battlefield while doing something completley different.
With the announcement of crysis 4 actually being developed i had to go back to crysis 2 which is my favourite crysis game, i know thats quite controversial as many people love the first
one and crysis 2 went in a much more linear direction but there is just something about crysis 2 that pulls me in and keeps me playing through all of it in one sitting.
So let me take some of you back to march 2011 and find out if crysis 2 is actually worth it in 2022 11 years later.
Has the gameplay of Crysis 2 held up when put up against the juggernauts like call of duty and battlefield?
Was Crysis 2 really that good or was it just as bad as some people said back in 2011?
Is Crysis 2 really worth buying 11 years later in 2022?
    Lets find out.

I actually used to prefer open world games when i was younger , i used to automatically think open world is more content so it's better but in reality quality still beats quantity and now i prefer linear games generally , yes they don't have as much replayability but that doesn't stop people from playing linear games a 1000 times at the end of the day it's a video game , you play it for fun many times again and again

I was at a pawn shop and randomly came across this game; and upon closer inspection of the cover ( which looks awesome, btw) I noticed the year 2023 on the monitor on the building and thought to myself " wouldn't that be cool if next year was a Crysis year?" Crysis 2 was so badass. My favorite of the trilogy with the first one not far off. Crysis 3 is the weak link imho. It has one level that looks downright incredible. The rest of the game looks solid... but it was just way too short.
Even though Crysis 2 has bad voice acting.. there was something about the way that the story unfolds that keeps you engaged. That and the fact that Hans Zimmer's score is just so incredible... it just keeps you engaged and wanting to push forward.
Crysis 3 didn't have that vibe. I remember feeling like I loved the premise of Crysis 3 with the urban jungle thing but we just didn't get enough of it. I hate games that are as short as Crysis 3 because the pacing is just way too fast. You just start enjoying yourself and then the game hurries you off to the next section. It's like the level "Welcome to the Jungle" that whole part of the game should've been extended into about 3-4 levels and the game would've been so much better.
Crysis 2 was a short game but it was definitely longer than Crysis 3. Actually Crysis 2 is probably the perfect length for that type of game... and the level design is just so good in Crysis 2. The only thing Crysis 3 has over Crysis 2 was graphics.

I loved Crysis Wars (crysis 1 online)
Loved 2 and 3 as well.. I didn't like that they didn't expand what could have been an amazing MP game though. It needed big maps, vehicles, more players, like the first one.
Once you got good at the parkour and how to use the suit it was amazing how fast you could move around the map strategically on MP while also having to guess what other players were doing as well..
Hopefully Crysis 4 can bring a battlefield level MP (not 2042 lolz) but with the nano suits, awesome weapons, and new things like maybe being able to link nano suit capabilities with other players within 20m or something along those lines...
fingers crossed because you know they will push the boundaries visually again...
That and it needs to at least have headset support (could care less about vr controllers).

I totally agree with you, because having played through these games again recently, Crysis 2 is my favourate game of the trilogy also, and Crysis 1 is actually my least favourate of the trilogy, though i did enjoy them all.
To me, i just thought number to was the most enjoyable, and actually has a cover system, which none of the other games has.
I would also say that Crysis 1 isn't an open world game. Yes, it has some fairly open areas in it, but it is ultimately a linier game that funnels you through a very definate route through the game and you can't go back to areas once you pass through them.

I remember how hype I was when this game was coming at. I played the hell out of the Batman games, but I honestly think FPS slowed down after Crysis 2. The fact it still holds up eleven years later is testament it hasn’t been replaced. Idk, it just felt like we were getting industry shifting games a couple times a year. Now I feel like we only get a truly great game every couple years, if we’re lucky. Idk, maybe the widespread inclusion of DLC contributed to this feeling. Maybe I just played less good games after this and the Batman games.

The story of Crysis 2 is very short. I have played it many times. The scene destruction is very good. The plot is indeed very thin. But I have to say that in terms of scene pre-production, Crysis is still an excellent work among first-person shooters. I just rewatched Crysis 1. Maybe because of technical reasons, the story of Crysis 1 is very short. It is still excellent in terms of customizing weapons. But because of the era, I understand why Crysis 1 did this. As far as the three series are concerned, my favorite is still Crysis 2. 3 is a bit too dependent on bows and arrows.

Even you misunderstood the story. Crysis 2 has the best story in the franchise: the shifting of responsible from prophet to alcatraz, Ceph's unorthodox way to conquer earth: by releasing body-melting virus, the conflict between CELL-Marine-and Jacob Hargreave, and the best one and mostly get overlooked: being a literally dead man walking with no option but keep moving foward. Yes, the voice actor and plot is silly and kinda predictable, but the presentation of the story is top notch

I don't know if people let alone gamers have the brain capacity to think deeply on much of anything, [not that it really takes that much clarity to even see] BUT I've noticed with the majority of games over the last 20 years it's almost always the same theme, martial law, post industrial society in ruins, economy crashing, internment camps etc. and futuristic elements always thrown in and why is every character have the same suit?!! look at Crysis and Timeshift, and Project Snowblind, and HALO etc. they all have so cloaks or armored suits etc. they all look the same, so my point is these video games that are churned out at a fast rate that cost millions to product aren't strictly there for our entertainment, we seem to think everything that's supplied to us is for our joy alone, no, there's a deeper more political reason for them with the settings and plots they involve, I've heard it a long time ago by very smart people that the pentagon actually is behind a lot of these games, and that these themes that are present in these games are essentially prepping the gamers and peoples minds for what's to come in real life, predictive programming is the word you may hear from time to time, and it's so apparent in these games, these games that i love by the way, I'm not hating on them I'm just saying nobody ever really goes into that very important fact, and i don't know if ppl have noticed we are living through the crumbling of a empire as I type this, all these themes in these games is preparing your mind for when these things start happening in real life, so when the S*** does hit the fan most people at least on a conscious/subconscious level have been familiarized with them, so you're more easily guided and malleable and obedient to those agendas and laws that will be coming in the near future..

The game is fine, but I don’t think it’s anything special. Now I’m not that far into it, but yeah it’s pretty average as a game.

Linear games are the way to go but only if you are confident in your story, open world games are just time wasters with way too many useless collectables and towers...its tired

Although crysis 2 is a really great game, crysis 3 takes all of the issues crysis 2 has and fixes them, well maybe it's not as dramatic and michael bay like but it's still better in everything else. Except the length that's also very short.

actually, this game just overhated becase some of thoose loud mouth people on the internet just wanted to make sure you think this game are bad even this game actually decent. yeah sure crysis 1 are more open, but the map are bit empty and the gameplay is bit lacking due to how clunky it is.

Tbh I scarcely notice the difference, the game is just great. The remaster was really just an excuse to make the series relevant again and put some money in their pocket for 4 lol.

@@Kjf365 While the true reason is correct, both Crysis 1 and 2 are great Remasters.
Crysis 3 also for fixed for modern GPUs to be playable again. The extra tweaks are niceties on top.
