I loved the game, C3 too, and I particularly loved the upgraded suit functions. Sure, speed mode running like a jet was missed dearly, but the streamlined controls of the suit were worth it imo. Great franchise.
Crysis 2 was certainly different from the original. But that's why it's called making a sequel and not making literally the same game again. I loved it!
I remember playing it on my laptop back in school days. It only had an Intel HD Graphics 3000, but it ran solid up until your first encounter with the Ceph.
Crysis 2 is good. I thought the graphics in the Crysis 2 where kinda bad because this franchise is Simulation core. But beyond that. I had so much fun with it.
I feel like the graphics of this game feels ahead of its time 2 years before ps4 xbox one launched in November 2013 bc the stuff from crysis 2 in terms of Fidelity with shadows everything else that we see in at the time next gen titles like driveclub order 1886 and uncharted 4 as well as batman arkham knight
The Nanosuit actually turned Alcatraz into Prophet after you get out of the spore. Alcatraz ends up dying, and the nanosuit simply revives the body and the copy of Prophets consciousness stored in the suits deep layers simply takes over, causing the nanosuit to believe itself to be prophet. In Crysis 3 Psycho actually alludes to the body inside the nanosuit no longer being Alcatraz, as he asks "Whose face are you even wearing under there nowadays" when he has a meltdown, implying that he just changes the body under the suit whenever the current body is too damaged.
21:18 That really pissed me off. I remember starting up Crysis 2 while being introduced to this new character and thinking wait, where’s Nomad? As I played through the game I kept waiting and waiting for some mention of Nomad or revelation of what happened to him and Helena Rosenthal. No information was forthcoming. I didn’t find out about the comic until years later and was absolutely pissed when I learned my protagonist was presumably killed off-screen in some tertiary media! I didn’t care about Alcatraz one iota. I wanted to play as Nomad again and continue his story, not some new character that had no appearance in the first game! I don’t remember if I beat the game, but I do remember Crysis 2 feeling completely disconnected from the first entry and not enjoying it nearly as much.
I played through all 3 games from beginning to end in about a week or two, Crysis 2 actually seemed to be the best one out of all 3, and Crysis 3 being the worst one out of all the games in my opinion. Very uncommon to see a sequel being better than the original title, but maybe thats just me.
6:33 Fun fact: You could do the same in Crysis one to an extend: double tapping melee or spring activated strength or speed modes. Very useful in multiplayer!
I loved the game but I always shit my pants when CEPH entered the chat. Multiplayer is a fond memory of mine. I played it regularly and even "prestiged" (reset the lvl to 0). Since I have no playtime in crysis 1 the game was great for me.
The lack of having a friend to setup the opening is were they missed theybset it up right with sub getting hit and having ta bail but maybe they gave us the suit to soon taking away the danger i know ole boy was infected with the virus and goanna die but imagine if he saved us and we werent critically injured and we spent alil time choosing between taking care of him cuase hes dieing as a regular marine until he dies and leaves the suit in or hands it was just to lonely from the beginning especially when you start off with the fellow guys on the sub
I think you already nailed the reasons for the controversy in the intro: Crysis was just so different from other games, especially in those parts were you fight human enemies. The later games were more "mundane" with regards to the enemies and the gameplay.
Yea I kinda feel the same when I first place the game when it first game out as it kinda bit darker but I really like it some how, that instrument music is really what I love about it. Crysis 2 really reminds me of Halo and Prototype.
I love 2 so much, just like Crysis 1. I think the story is so much better, the music especially hits such beautiful notes too. I think the main reason the the changes was not wanting to repeat themselves with the jungle setting again and again, im delighted we're getting a reboot but Crysis 2 has a special place in my heart. ...I still miss Nomad though :( they killed him off in a comic and that pissed me off big time.
crysis 2 was the first shooter i played, and i love it to bits. obv not as good as the first and the third one, but still its very cool and innovative in comparison to its competitors at the time.
I think Crysis 2 literally has one of the most unique Multiplayer back then when it is still up. There is so much versatility when everyone can use a Nanosuit really. But man I do kinda miss the Crysis series as Halo and Destiny is still the only SciFi super soldier kinda games people play online.
I still had a great time with the game when it first released. The multiplayer was hella fun and I overall felt like it was a great follow up to the original.
Making the Seth more viable to be fought stealthily was a mistake in my eyes. The way they build Crysis 2, you build 1 type of playstyle and cruise through the game. In Crysis 1 you had to switch it up. Which gives the game more depth. Also, as far as I remember Prophet did nót survive taking off the suit. The suit simply had adopted his personality. The prophet in the suit is not the same prophet as the person.
Crysis wars multi was the best game I ever played, I was a bit of a pro, I found awesome glitches, had the time of my life on that game with many great memories.
Throwing all the history and nostalgia aside for a moment... I just finished Crysis 1 for the first time yesterday, and am playing through Crysis 2 now. And TBH... Crysis 1 is dated and was not really enjoyable for me after being spoiled by so many other games. I trudged through it though to see if there were any "magic" moments, and it never really got me. Crysis 2 is more fun, more immersive, and personally, I appreciate the denser and more linear approach. The "empty" sandbox feel is just getting old for me these days...
Crysis 2 was fun. Never played the other games, but it was cool. Played it multiple times. You can feel like a real badass at times learning how to chain everything together. The setpieces were also cool as hell.
It's quite simple why Crysis 2 steered off the expected course. The console generation at the time. Crytek wanted to cash in on that audience and thus radically adjusted their approach to game development, in many ways detrimental to what made Crysis 1 and Crysis Warhead so good. C2 and C3 are still great action shooter games though, just that C1 and Warhead are in their own league.
Crysis 3 was my favorite one funnily enough. The huge battles with big monsters and tons of super cool alien guns was so cool. The density of environments and the huge overgrown New York with tons of plants and water looked awesome and the multiplayer was also very fun, playing like a much better Black Ops 3. Crysis 1 and Warhead are both good games, but they end up just being linear anyways so it doesn’t bother me much. Although I see the complaints from then, when every game is super good and you can only play so many during a recession, a game that’s lacking content and replay ability makes little sense financially if both cod and Crysis are $60. But it absolutely makes sense to pirate the daylights out of.
Best thing about Crysis 2 is the ost also its very immersive game. Lots of detail put in. Like how alcatraz cant speak because he got hit in his throat also how he grunts and breathes painfully when you jump etc because his lungs are damaged fatally yet the suit keeps him alive. Also it has a masculine heroic story of pushing on no matter what! Really bad ass game. Tho i dont like crysis 3.
Crysis was the only game of the crysis series I played. I wanted to play a shooter and picked it up at a bargin bin, found the games' premise intriguing, but otherwise nothing too special, was mostly impressed by the graphics
Gameplay wise I think Crysis 3 is probably the most refined and the best. In terms of everything else though I say Crysis 2 nailed it best out of them all. From the story to the soundtrack and the action set piece. I actually enjoy replaying 2 out of the rest of the trilogy. I think I actually prefer the more linear level design in 2. The more open ended levels in 1 and 3 can be a bit aimless at time, and can be a slog when replaying. There’s just not much substance in them. It just feels better when you’re just moving from arenas to arenas in 2. I feel like Crysis 2 really nail that epic blockbuster action movie feel
The implied story of this game is brilliant. The game’s story is serviceable. The dialogue is often awful. The gunplay is a delight and the level designs is often thrilling if, unexceptional it’s its combat variety.
Crysis 2 is my favorite of the franchise. I love the fast, tight gameplay, the weapons feel well balanced and all are useful, the levels don’t overstay their welcome, enemies both CELL and Ceph are a blast to fight, and the suit… oh my god, the Nanosuit 2.0 is my absolute, honest to god, favorite armor in ALL OF FICTION. It never feels overpowered. TTK is relatively low; if you take a big barrage of gunfire unarmored, you’ll die. Big enemies like Gunships, Humvees, Devastators, Pingers and the Guardians still feel like they pose a real threat. Yeah, cloak is OP, but it lasts like 10-15 seconds in movement, less if you’re sprinting. And the game overall is still absolutely beautiful. Opening the first door in Second Chance and seeing the City back in 2011 is a formative memory for me. God i love C2
Played it again recently because I never finished 1 I surprisingly love 2 more than 1. I thought 1 was kinda boring, maybe because I was spoiled by better open sandbox shooter/stealth game like Metal Gear Solid V that has better shooting mechanic, better stealth, and better overall system.
If C2 was a standalone title, it could have succeeded - had all the hallmarks of a generic CoD clone so it would have sold as well as one. The problem was of course that it was titled as a sequel to C1, which pissed off the majority of the fans and didn't appeal to the CoD scene in its advertising, so C2 lost on both counts. I don't know how they scrounged the money for C3 with this kind of flop.
I like it YET I understand the mess it found itself in? At least I seem to recall Crytek developing for console in the hopes of getting more sales (in response to all the PC piracy). I have reasonable hopes for Crysis 4 since these days consoles can handle large worlds a lot better than when Crysis 2 was being worked on. Never mind other advancements that are possible, as proven by both industry devs and fans. If it were worthwhile I'd love a remake of Crysis 2 that let you work with the military (and even with CELL when things were real bad) just all across a large territory, much like operations in Crysis 1 (dealing with roadblocks, painting targets, etc.) and just being more involved in saving people all over the invasion zone. I've heard that there were ideas on reworking the story that was introduced with Crysis 2. Time will tell. I hope we get behind-the-scenes videos leading up to/after launch about the development. Halo popped up in the video and to this day I enjoyed watching the ViDocs about the development of its games.
I loved Crysis 2, I didn’t have a pc so i played it on Xbox. It was a better “Spartan 3” experience than Halo Reach which felt like a modded version of halo 3 in comparison.
Crisis 2 was pretty good. Sure enough Longer than crysis 3 It has way better design when it comes to a more triple A quality. Story was pretty neat too. Such has your character is changing into something else more alien due to the suit. 1 man army against aliens taking over earth through a second hand alien virus Kinda reminds me of another great trilogy’s character from resistance. The story explains when your suit gains upgrades as well. Like resistance explaining the auto healing mechanic in the second game as well as being immune to infection. The OST is still one of the absolute best from any game in the last 20 years. The game has a great story to expand the extreme events after the first game. The third doesn’t really expand on anything when it comes to the story aside from you putting an end to the invasion.
Crysis 2 isn’t really controversial now in 2024. I think people have accepted and really enjoy the whole trilogy. I know I love it from beginning to end. With that being said I think Crysis 4 is gonna be a lot like Crysis 1.
I loved this game, yes it was not a good as the first, but only by a little, I thought the story was better then the first. The graphics and the story were great in all the games, all cylinders were firing those games, they just do not make games like this anymore because they don't want to put in the effort or money to do so, got keep the shareholders happy. The game was ID4 at ground level!

My first game from the series of Crysis was Crysis 2 , I love second Crysis with all my heart but I would like if Cefh was more like in first game, but I like nanosuite V. 2 more then V. 1, I would like if Alcatraz more like Nomad but the story from first to second game still for me is fazy but I like both games, second still my top one, but first is second in my personal tier list because it feels cool and interesting as second and sometimes do better mode, but people enemies from first game is... Ahem... Stupid and unfair. But Cefhs was best, I like them. And yeah, i play on Delta difficult in Crysis one and Warrior of future(or like this, i don't remember how it translated from my language) in Crysis 2 and 3.
My personal opinion? I think Crysis 2 is the best in the series. Crysis 1 was incredible for it's time don't get me wrong, but after replaying it recently I think I don't think I can say it really holds up. It can't seem to decide if it wants to be a hero shooter like half life, or a milsim in the vein of arma, and that really hurts the gameplay. You could say... It has an identity crysis... The story is fantastic though, I do prefer the intrigue and originality of 1 over 2, but the gameplay of the latter outshines its predecessor in most every way, and I feel like Crysis 2 is where the series truly found it's own identity. Michael Bay in FPS form
2 minutes and there are already errors, Crysis 2 did not push the "Graphical envelope" on release, graphical improvements like DX 11 were added later (you even show the patch notes of 1.9 which added some of them in the video) and the online multiplay on PS3 was shut down around 2018, with it only coming back this year.
I love both multiplayer and story to this day, Crysis 1 is definitely a good game which i like too, but I find 2 just perfect. Only Crysis 3 was a disappointment, the story was fine, i just never felt like replaying it again, but the multiplayer was such a downgrade from 2, every Crysis player i knew dropped it within a few days and went back to 2.
I still remember being hyped about a sequel to Crysis and the absolute letdown it ended up being. Felt like a massive concession to consoles and a loss of originality and freedom like C1 and CW.
It was a bulky fps for consoles... I did not enjoy it that much. They designed it differently than the PC first game that was designed first and foremost for PC. I dont know I think they lost the plot with the Aliens. The big thing that I loved with the first was the sneaking around and causing havoc untill the Aliens. Its still a good action game at its core. I was hoping the sequel would reduce the Aliens and build upon the first games powers and abilities in a natural way. Sadly I think we got something that regressed in all areas with the exception of grafics and music. It was even more difficult to stealth around properly. So the second game was the weakest of the three and Crysis 1 and its expansion are still the best.
Cysis 2 graphics was ahead of its time 2 years before PS4 and Xbox one had these graphics like The Order 1886, driveclub, uncharted 4 a thief end, horizon zero dawn and ghosts of tsushima
i still dont like how big the gun in ur hands looks in crysis 2. too big and its distracting. looks much more natural and better in crysis 1 imo do like the new color balance in the remaster so i guess we are past the age now where old games had bad graphics, these graphics will be enjoyable a 100 years from now still.
Alleged piracy, while they claim they lost a ridiculous amount of money due to piracy, that's never been really proven and some of their claims are almost impossible
I'm curious to hear how people feel about the new direction Crysis 2 presented.

I loved the game, C3 too, and I particularly loved the upgraded suit functions. Sure, speed mode running like a jet was missed dearly, but the streamlined controls of the suit were worth it imo. Great franchise.
Whys is the audio in game all over the place?
Crysis 2 was certainly different from the original. But that's why it's called making a sequel and not making literally the same game again. I loved it!
I remember playing it on my laptop back in school days. It only had an Intel HD Graphics 3000, but it ran solid up until your first encounter with the Ceph.
Yea I remember I bought and tried playing it but it would crash at that part.
I'm not sure if you'll include it in the next review, but a Datapad in Crysis 3 reveals that Nomad is still alive.
Great editing and video dude!
This was a really good video man, ima sub.
Very uncommon to see a sequel being better than the original title, but maybe thats just me.
crysis 2 and bioshock 1 are my favorite FPS of all time💪💪
The original BioShock is 100% up there for me also
6:33 Fun fact: You could do the same in Crysis one to an extend: double tapping melee or spring activated strength or speed modes. Very useful in multiplayer!
I loved the game but I always shit my pants when CEPH entered the chat. Multiplayer is a fond memory of mine. I played it regularly and even "prestiged" (reset the lvl to 0). Since I have no playtime in crysis 1 the game was great for me.
IMO, Crysis 2 has the best setting for the nanosuit powers.
The enclosed spaces make it difficult to get by without it.
Also, Call of Juarez had the first Cover Mechanic I have ever experienced and that cover system slapped so much.
C2 does alot of things better than the original
Considering c1 development was a mess and cut alot in the last year of development
You sir have earned yourself a subscriber. This is some high quality stuff!!
Trying to load the first crisis on Windows 11........ Wish me luck
I think you already nailed the reasons for the controversy in the intro: Crysis was just so different from other games, especially in those parts were you fight human enemies. The later games were more "mundane" with regards to the enemies and the gameplay.
The ceph in crysis 2 really just feel like another alien race
Wait, i thought Nomad was MIA according to Crysis 3's database
He is listed as that, I think they tried to make it look like he died in the comics though.
@@VirtualLegacy Ooooooh so what now? Is he really dead OR just "dead", cuz the file and the comic are so at odds rn
I thought the devs stated he was alive.
Btw it seems like your some cutscenes are slightly corrupted
What is this constant sound lag in game?
Why is the cutscene audio fucked up
I still had a great time with the game when it first released. The multiplayer was hella fun and I overall felt like it was a great follow up to the original.
I love all 3 crysis games story gameplay and all phenomenal first impressions i love this series all 3 entrys
Hi mate. Thanks for the video. I would love to hear your thoughts on Star Citizen. In terms of innovation, could it take the title from Crysis?
I've actually never played Star Citizen. It's pretty wild how long the game has been in production for and how much they've crowd funded.
@@VirtualLegacy Bro, check it out 😉 Would be cool to hear your thoughts.
It's not just the pistol but any weapon with a Silencer
I totally agree with everything you said
Crysis 2 was fun.
But it absolutely makes sense to pirate the daylights out of.
killzone 2 had a cover system you had to use to survive
Best thing about Crysis 2 is the ost also its very immersive game. Lots of detail put in. Like how alcatraz cant speak because he got hit in his throat also how he grunts and breathes painfully when you jump etc because his lungs are damaged fatally yet the suit keeps him alive. Also it has a masculine heroic story of pushing on no matter what! Really bad ass game. Tho i dont like crysis 3.
personally loved crysis 2
I love all 3 Crysis games, OG is best, but 2 and 3 are amazing.
Crysis was the only game of the crysis series I played. I wanted to play a shooter and picked it up at a bargin bin, found the games' premise intriguing, but otherwise nothing too special, was mostly impressed by the graphics
Try Crysis 3. It's a big improvement on Crysis 2 in every way.
We can't forget about that soundtrack either!
Played it again recently because I never finished 1
I surprisingly love 2 more than 1. I thought 1 was kinda boring, maybe because I was spoiled by better open sandbox shooter/stealth game like Metal Gear Solid V that has better shooting mechanic, better stealth, and better overall system.
I would like this guy to make a titanfall 2 video, great video btw
I've heard great things about the Titanfall 2 campaign. I really enjoyed the OG Titanfall, but didn't really spend time with the follow up.
The Titanfall 2 campaign is much better than any Crysis campaign. It's a masterpiece.
Crysis 2 was my first and favorite but enjoyed 1 & 3.
I feel it did dumb down a lot of what made Crysis so fun. Crysis Wars was an amazing multiplayer mode that I severely miss :(
If C2 was a standalone title, it could have succeeded - had all the hallmarks of a generic CoD clone so it would have sold as well as one.
Sure enough Longer than crysis 3
It has way better design when it comes to a more triple A quality.
Story was pretty neat too. Such has your character is changing into something else more alien due to the suit.
1 man army against aliens taking over earth through a second hand alien virus
Kinda reminds me of another great trilogy’s character from resistance.
Y'all forget the fact the suit not fully being used as in the previous game is bcz of the fact that MF ALCATRAZ IS A DEAD MAN WALKING 💀💀 like literally did y'all even paid attention in the story 😭 ofc the suit is not as powerful as before and has weakend cuz of alcatraz 😭 leave my man alone bro saved the damn city and he was dead AF
Crysis 2 is fantastic, it was the only reason why I bought a ps3 . I don’t know much about computer blah blah blah - I think it’s a great game.
Please do a Crysis 3 video!
That's interesting to hear about the multiplayer scene. I only dabbled with the C2 multiplayer and I remember it being fun.
very nice! i love the Crysis 2 :)
Crisis 2 was the first game in siris that I played
Even though Crysis 1 is the best, I still adore Crysis 2❤
i still dont like how big the gun in ur hands looks in crysis 2. too big and its distracting. looks much more natural and better in crysis 1 imo
do like the new color balance in the remaster
so i guess we are past the age now where old games had bad graphics, these graphics will be enjoyable a 100 years from now still.
Never had problem with game, its good game,
crysis 1 tropical jungle was so beautiful
I actually like 2
This game slapped. Don’t care about the haters
the game audio is fucked up like a scratched cd or something
i didnt play very far into this game
Cyberpunk 2077 has the same cover system.
That's a great comparison
Crysis trilogy is awesome, every game is excellent
Alleged piracy, while they claim they lost a ridiculous amount of money due to piracy, that's never been really proven and some of their claims are almost impossible
Assess Crysis 3 pls
I'm almost done playing through it 👍
OH MY GOD SOMEBODY IS TALKING ABOUT CRYSIS SUBBED
